  1. The theory: So I have a Galaxy S10 that I've been using now for nearly 2 years and I've stuck religiously to the advice that charging to 100% is bad so I installed an app that alerts you when you at 80% so you know to unplug. I will charge to 80% then run it down to 30% or lower then back up to 80% for about 3-5 times a day. I mean it works best for battery cars right? Why wouldn't it work out for phones? The problem: I'm a very heavy user with Google Maps, YouTube, podcasts, browsing, etc. And In doing this charging style I run into the problem of battery heat. The app also alerts if your battery is above 102°f and that's an alert I see often even with fast charging disabled. So I propose to you, which is worse... Limited 80% charging with heat or 5-8hrs of 100% plugged in? After 2 years of the 80% method my battery health is at 81% according to Accubattery.
  2. I'm not sure about your cpu, but I do know a 1060 is about the limit of an i7 920 Personally I would try it, but like I said I don't have any experience with later model intels. I went from that 920 straight to a Ryzen 3600 lol
  3. I have been tackling this myself as well. I've been looking at the 1660 "family" and it doesn't really get me going for the price. I'm considering either going used 1080 now or wait out the 3060 and see how the 2060 fairs on the used market.
  4. Thanks everyone for the input! I'm certainly going to look into that remote play together feature. Also sounds like I'm making things more complicated than they need to be.
  5. First a little background, I just built my wife a new gaming pc and she's just starting to get into pc gaming and she seems to enjoy indie titles the most but occasionally wants to play the bigger titles like GTA and RDR2. Traditionally she would just use my pc to play those titles when the itch arose but now that she has her own pc she'd like to use hers. So looking into the future, with coop and multi-player games seemingly rising in popularity, how does one handle the fact of having to buy two copies of a game for one household? Is there a way around this? Not that I don't want to pay, I'm just ignorant and curious if something like steam library sharing works for this situation. Should I have her create her own steam account and rebuy her indies with her account or is there a way to continue using one steam/epic/gamepass account?
  6. Yes I use a case and I've tried a couple different ones and got the same results. Do to my work I can't go without a case, both because of the protection but also because we use the magnetic phone mounts and the plates don't stick to the glass back.
  7. So I've had my S10 for about a year now and I can't seem to find a screen protector that will stay on for any prolonged amount of time, more than a week. So far all the ones I've tried start peeling up around the curve of the screen and keep going from there. Sometimes starting on the left side, sometimes on the right. It's super annoying! What I've tried: Expensive glass Cheap glass Plastic TPU Various different cases (thinking maybe that's rubbing the edges) No screen protector (a ton of micro scratches after 2 days) So far the TPU lasts the longest because it's soft and the sides can just flap in the wind until the rest starts peeling up. I work in a very dusty area so having a good screen protector is essential. I'm curious what any other users use or if I'm the only one having issues?
  8. Pretty much the same as mine at idle. Runs at 15% fan speed since my case isn't really good for it at 0 RPM.
  9. If a reasonably modern hard drive is loud to you, (which is ok because I used to run no case so I know what you mean) then the card is likely working properly. I would recommend going into something like Afterburner and setting your own fan curve after you read up on the reasonable temps for that specific model. It is a card geared for max performance and overclocking so it will probably always be on the louder side but a manual curve can help at idles and light loads.
  10. I am enjoying my ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F Gaming. Worked out of the box with the correct bios and I haven't had any issues so far in 6-months of ownership.
  11. I got my 3600 with an ROG B450-F and it came out of the box with the correct bios. Purchased at Microcenter in Denver
  12. For what it's worth I have a 3600 with a Cooler Master 212 Black cased in a Define R3, just kisses 80c under load (rendering) and idles at about 55c
  13. At mine they had a GTX 660 that cost as much as the GTX 760 next to it...
  14. I have used the Blue Yeti before, and I would completely recommend it. If it is any consolation, Jay from the YouTube channel JayzTwoCents, also used to use it for his videos and streams.
  15. This is what it says on Corsair's site... Must have been the non-RGB one you seen, that is if your in the US anyways.
