  1. Welp, Saab got sold a while back due to me moving. Really itching to get a first gen, late year, Cooper S, but the fact that most of the ones for sale have blown motors makes it just slightly too unnerving of a proposition.... Maybe time for a TT?..
  2. It's the one thing Detroit and Texas have in common (except for gun-related violence). It involves a bunch of guys in rented/stolen/10-year-leased camaros and challengers drifting, crashing, and otherwise endangering themselves and others on highways, and/or road intersections.
  3. Sooo add the 140mm I added to the cart in the front, have a 120mm exit, with the CPU cooler helping blow the air out?   8. Welp, I finally bought a car! OG 9-3 coupe, with a 2.0t, 185bhp engine, not too much rust, and 310,000km on clock. Cheap as chips!
  9. I've seen my fair share of defective/DOA Asus cards, so it could be that the card is defective. Does it work with any other GPU?
  10. Try a different monitor, GPU, game, and video cable. Depending on when the issue remains/goes away, you can narrow down the problem.
  11. Welp, I finally picked up a part time job which could fund car costs. But as my luck would be, nothing that interests me is for sale, and what is is incredibly overpriced. I mean people want 8000 euros for crappy MR2s, like 2500 euros for crappy A4 B5s, and like 6500 for EP3 Type Rs... The markets insane.
  12. Oh damn, looks cool. I've toyed with the idea of getting something for like over a year, but gas prices are crazy, I don't have a parking spot, would be at least 65 eur a month since I'm in a student flat, not to mention insurance, tax and other crap. Also since I'm only working as a teach asssistant at uni on a course-by-course basis, there's periods where I don't get any work, so no salary either . At the end of the day, I just can't justify it as being even remotely worth it. Whenever I need a car I rent from Volvo's "per hour rental" app, which is like 6.5/hour + 0.2 per km. Was pretty tempted to get a Fabia RS, 1.9TTID 9-3, or S3 for a while though.
  13. What bike you got? In terms of price, they're not bad, about 450eur/month for leasing (insurance, service, everything included). Though I'm trying to convince my dad to go for a Polestar 2, for like 100 more per month .
  14. Gearboxs are pretty good regardless, mostly just the response that annoys me. The PHEVs are great though, I've tried the T5 and T6 XC40, and T8 XC90. Nice, quiet, economical around town, especially in the electric only mode, but they pull good all the way to 180 . Especially the T8s - they're in the "lose your license" catagory .
  15. I mean they're not horrible. On the contrary, they're probably fine for most things. Personally however I just don't think they have enough power, particularly for merging into traffic quickly on the highway. Also (I find) the throttle response is absolutely horrendous in the standard drive mode in most new Volvos (though I've only driven the autos, except for the XC40). There's a delay of over a second from when you step fully on the throttle (whilst doing like 80) to the car actually kicking down a gear or 2 and accelerating. You've also got to consider the fact that the d2 v40 (iirc thats the one you own?) is ~463kg lighter than a d3 v60, and ~560kg lighter than a d3 v90 (difference in bhp between the d2 and d3 is 30bhp). That's a huge difference, especially compared to the t3's, which lack the torque of the diesel.
  16. Yeah I've seen a fair few of those. It's all about perspective I suppose. Prices are so high here that people filling up big tanks have to stop after a certain amount, take out their card, then put it back in again, cause most pumps only reserve $155, which doesn't cover how much fuel they need hahah. On an unrelated note, god damn the new Volvo XC90 T8 is nice. Driven one a few times now and it's impressive what a 2 ton SUV can do when it has a hybrid, 400bhp awd powertrain. Also really liked the Polestar 2, except for the fact that the giant wheels and skinny tires mean the ride is a bit harsh for my liking around town. Interior isn't as "volvo-y" as I expected, which is great.
  17. Is... is 4.99/gal meant to be expensive? ~$8.8/gallon for premium, ~$9.7/gallon for diesel in Sweden. Have had plans for a while to pick-up a shitbox, but with these prices it's nowhere near viable. White on white can look good, sometimes. But rarely. Saw previously you have a d3, how do you like it? I've driven every current-gen volvo, in most of the different engine configs, and man the D3s and T3s feel gutless to me.

  19. 4.9-6.6. for the 180bhp 1.9ttid, vs 5.7-6.7 for the 150bhp 1.9tid (combined l/100km). This trend is also valid for city, highway. So sure, i doubt your be getting even 5.5 daily, though id bet the ttid would generally be better.
  20. The ttid actually has lower fuel use than the single turbo, somehow. Though either way probably cheaper than the petrol, asides from roadtax.
  21. We have the second most expensive diesel in the world, only beaten by hong kong... Sucks cause I've been very tempted to pick up a 9-3 1.9 ttid...
  22. Welp, finally got off my ass and did the theory exam for a license, alongside all the other associated shit u have to do in Sweden. Now its just the driving left, which is booked on Saturday.
