  2. I really like the matte black finish. My current aluminum bodied laptop is...ehh...well...it's gross. It's just brushed aluminum and is a nightmare to clean. A nicer finish like the one the G550JK has would be amazing.
  3. I really like the thin bezels on the sides. Phones with large screens already feel massive. If they have thick edges too, it just makes it even worse. That and it's sexeh.
  4. A new monitor from ASUS would be awesome. I think a monitor makes a great gift even if someone already has one. Dual or tri-monitor setups are always welcome!
  5. Handy, small things make awesome gifts. Stuff that they can add to their everyday carry. A nice pen, like a Fisher Space Pen, that fits well in the pocket or a Gerber Shard to add to a keychain. Any little trinket type item that can serve a purpose, while still looking cool. Something a little more pricey, but an even better gift, is a good pocket knife or multi-tool. I carry one on me constantly and it's saved my butt over and over again. Plus, it's sturdy enough to use as a pry-bar to get things open if it can't cut it.
  6. That makes sense. At this point I assume it would be hard to get into, let alone mining being worthwhile for someone like myself.
  7. My set up is akin to Frankenstein's monster. In my desktop I have one OCZ Agility 3 60GB SSD. I use it to run my OS (Win7) and a few applications that I like to be snappy such as Chrome and Photoshop. I also have two other storage drives. One is a 160GB WD Blue drive and the other is a 320GB WD Blue. Both are from an old build and I've just kept them around. They still work and hold most of what I need (some project files and a portion of my Steam library). Then there is my NAS... It's very sad. It has two drives. The largest is an old IDE 120GB Seagate drive and the smaller is...well to be honest I have no idea. I think it is a Seagate drive as well. I do know that it is only 40GB and is IDE. Oh and the NAS is actually an old Dell Dimension running freeNAS off of a cheapy flashdrive. For me though it works, even though it's a hassle. The NAS stores some of my music (I stream most everything) and temporary backups/project files. Definitely not sensitive data. Thanks for reading and good luck to everyone for this giveaway!
  8. http://thegenesisblock.com/bitcoin-network-reaches-1-petahash-per-second/ Definitely impressive. I haven't been following bitcoin news for a long while. That increase since July is crazy. I guess that increase is from ASICs? I know they are custom-made specifically for mining, but they could cause that big of an increase?
