I recommend buying a GTX Titan XP for 4k gaming if you wish. However, for now, if you want to game at 1440p, a single GTX 1080 can do just that. -

I most likely go for a i7 2700K if you want to minimise bottleneck.

yes, but only at a cost. you might go for a i7 but there are 2 options: 1. 2600K. or 2. 2700K. And if you wanted to cool it down efficiently, best off buying a cooler master or hyper cooler ish cpu cooler.
