  3. I have bought my pc back when intel's 980x came, and I haven't upgraded my pc yet, although only graphic card, I think it's been more than 10 years that I am using my pc. I want to build a new pc but I am all confused because with the last one I threw money at it and I got a mean machine of that time and it is working till now. I wanted to do the same but now I am more mature and got some wisdom, so don't want to do that same. When it comes to use I mostly use my PC for everything, like a new thing has to grab my attention and I am into it. I sometimes turn my pc into server start hosting sites sometimes I go into investing zone and use excel intensively and sometimes gaming, mostly heavy browsing. My use for pc is not limited but as we all know we can't have everything, so guys suggest me a pc build that lasts me next 10 years and I never have to feel man I wish I had this. I will be using my old drives, case, power supply. Budget is 1500usd and living in India. I know it's a optimization problem so let me help I want only amd processor build, and what the hell with cpu's when should one buy 3600 and 3700x? anyways thank you so much for reading my problem.
  4. How do I get to participate to win a PC, can some one help?
  5. For sure windows has to run better than Linux, else why would anyone want it. But Windows can be disrupted, see windows has one entity where it can use resources to hire and innovate, where as linux has distributed cluster of talent, which works out of passion and there is no leader who can direct that this is where we will move, so functionality of Linux depends on contribution of money and coding of people. and I think you will prefer Linux because when any problem that will come up there will be millions of programmers who will be solving it, rather than few thousand windows programmers and solution can come from anywhere and if the solution is good, community will verify it and add it to the os. But if you still love windows that's fine, I have been a windows user till my 22 and just shifted to linux. More over most of the things have shifted to cloud, so OS are loosing their charm, maybe someday all the editing software and tools will be available from cloud.
  6. I have installed ubuntu on my very old PC I have 980x cpu, one of the fastest of it's time, but i have only 8 gb of ram, although my pc can have more ram, I don't feel good on investing in the old machine. So, after thinking about it and understanding that most of my work is done on chrome and few basic application, I installed ubuntu. Here are the applications I installed OBS Blender video editor and animation software open source Gimp virtualbox teamviwer vlc deluge torrent downloader google earth pro Home bank -accounting software telegram -one of the best messaging app(according to me) so what I have experienced? The linux is amazing, but not for those who don't even know that they can search their problems on google and find answers. I have 8 gb ram and when I log into ubuntu it uses 1-2 gb of ram and now using chrome is so good now there is no ram problems. I haven't realised until I installed ubuntu that I don't use my two 1tb hard drives and ubuntu don't even start them until I open then, they stay away not consuming electricity. There is weird satisfaction in installing and configuring the machine after installing linux. Loved the ubuntu deafult but installed gnome alter and then modified it to look like windows. I am just in a bliss of computing, linux has added a new life to the machine. Few problems I faced, well I should say adventures, I have found how to increase hz of monitor because my monitor support 120hz I have nvidia card which gave some problems, but I switched to propriety drivers, things got solved there. The most irritating was setting default sound frequency, I have connected Zoom h1 which has been set to 48khz/16bit. so VLC created a 48khz signal and chrome created 44khz which distorted the sound, so I found a way to set 48khz default. Things are not complete, by this I mean, you have to configure your os, it's not like plug and play, but there was rarely a problem that can't be solved by simple google query. What was eye opening for me way this. The software that I have installed are open source, which means That schools can install linux on as many computers as they want and big tutorial creating companies can make videos on open soft wares like blender and for illustration krita, both are open source. Imagine life of creators they can create content without worrying about license or spending money, almost everything is free. what a amazing place this linux world is. Plus you can cluster ubuntu machines to create a rendering farm, speed up any software. this amazing flexibility can liberate the world. Millions of children can become programmers and graphic designers and content creators. If a nation want to create jobs, they should install linux on every computer with in their nation. There is a big market for linux support. Guys if anyone is up, I am ready to create a company which create open source software and contribute in already existing ones to improve them. while also provide support to those who are shifting to linux. At last, I want to thank every programmer, tinkerer, contributor who helped create Linux to what it is. The real change in the world has been brought by Linux community. If there is any group of people who are constantly working for the good of all it's linux community. Feeling gratitude towards this amazing community and it's people, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Keep innovating.
  7. I want to be able to create users and set their bandwidth and speed, is there any software like pfsense or is it possiblein pfsense?
  8. How do I know which pci-e network cards pfsense will support? I want to use my old pc, but as it has one ethernet port I want two so I decided to put ethernet pci-e card This one http://www.amazon.in/TP-Link-TG-3468-Gigabit-Express-Network/dp/B003CFATNI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1471674436&sr=8-2&keywords=lan+card Thanks in advance for your help
  9. I have i7 980x DX58ASO motherboad Currently 8 gb ram This motherboard or processor needs graphic card for display, will the freenas be able to support gtx 670 Will this be a good option for free nas? I understand freenas, but when it comes to Ram and hardware It confuses me. Let me know if any of you have a good configuration other than this.
  10. changed the font, does this help
  11. Your worth doesn't mean what you are, but it's the price that a market would like to pay for the things you own. Knowledge can be used to improve skills and skills can be used to create assets, so always target for learning new things. I was writing on my blog, so I thought of sharing it my lovely LTT comunity. I love you guys The post was long but here are some nuggets. Monthly Algorithm check This is how it starts NEED = “Healthy food, good place to live, good clothes to wear and education facilities.” CHECKS =”x” IF CHECK IS EQUAL TO NEED “keep learning and improve my skills and knowledge.” ELSE ” Activate = ” JOB”” LOOP JOB TILL ” Passive income = Cost of needs” Activate ” Priority check” Priority = ” Put 80% of JOB income in investment and 20% in improving lifestyle” “put 80% of my time learning and 20% improving lifestyle” Now it’s is very long one and I might write about it in some other post, but this is a sneak peak of it’s working. Decide what class you want to be in. Check what type of work people do in that class and what skills they need for that. Check your current class and while living in that class, start taking out time and money to learn new skills that is required for the class you want to move in to. Hope it helps some of you..
  12. Ask yourself why you are doing it, is it for money or is for your passion and money is a side kick. Let's discuss both scenarios. For passion Well then buy good audio recorder like, zoon h4n with a condenser boom mic. Use your phone and record in 1080p, oh do buy lens for your phone, there are some after market kit's to make a phone camera micro or wide angel lens. Start producing and don't give a shit what people say and what you talk about just go with the flow. For money and passion If you are on youtube for money, then every approach changes. You want a good looking genuinely interested person who is into the topic of your channel. it can be you or someone else (pay him as low as possible) Analyze the data about your videos, where people leave your videos and why you are getting traffic from some particular area, ask questions what is the reason. Produce what people want to watch, mostly trending topic attract more views. Keep up to date with trends on the topics that your channel will cover. Equipment can be same as mentioned above, because you want to start with as low as you possibly can without compromising on the quality. (you break even fast) Only for money (I don't give a damm, just give me money) If you think it as investment then start a llc or some business entity which can keep your liability limited and source everything. Hire a writer (which sends the script to some other guy) Hire a production house (which has all equipment and talent) Let them produce the video and ask them to upload it to your channel Hire a data annalist get your videos analyzed, get the report and send it to writer with changes you want in the script and also give direction to the production house. Just make sure you produce more money then you spend. Congrats you got a channel which is producing money for you. By writing this I even got some good ideas for myself, so thank you for asking the question. EGO boost time : OMG, I am just 21 and I so good at advising people, holly shit man, I am pro, yohhooo (Now i am gonna be a billionaire)ego boost ends Thanks for reading hope this helps Extras if you start becoming popular buy a shogun external recorder the top one and then use the cheapest camera which can produce 4k and also support shogun recorder, this will help you have a single format for all your videos, because all the videos will come from shogun recorder and there is much more you can do with it, you will learn it all by yourself or hire someone else to do it all for you.
