  1. Cost me 200 Canadians ruples after he refunded me twenty bucks for his oopsie. Suffice to say, I'm pretty upset. I upgraded from a 4570. Barely any performance gain at all. They're essentially the same CPU. The 4570 turbos to the same clock as the 4790 which is why 4790k or 4770k maybe worth getting for the potential of OC'ing to ~5ghz. 4th gen CPU's still hold their own. I would have been better off just waiting a bit longer till I could upgrade to a Ryzen 6/12 core. This was just a waste of my time and money. But I can at least waste more time to get some money back (I got a useless MSI mobo (it's not Asus) and 16gb of ram with the cpu). So I can just package that with my 4570 and ask 200 ruples for that lol. Moral of the story is: Only trust your own stupidity and no one elses.
  2. I got "It's not a K" memed today. Found a 4790k on kijiji. After hours of flashing the bios (I did it wrong the first time). I open up task manager and cpu-z to see 4790. Turns out it's just a basic b****. Always double check the heat spreader before buying lol. I knew this too. Got a bloody nose before I left and my brain broke forgetting the tools. The guy even said he overclocked it. After the fact I find out he OC'd it to 4.1GHZ using XTU. What joke! 100MHZ isn't an overclock at all. That essentially adds the power equivalent of an N64 to your PC. He was super excited about that useless 100mhz overclock.
  3. Hello, W7 refuses to install because none of my drives are GPT. I want to install W7 onto my blank SSD. I did some googling but want to make sure I implement the right method based on my circumstance. I have four drives: Main::W8.1 (1TB SSD) Partition with Ubuntu (80GB P., total 2tb) W8.1 install that was deleted manually (1tb) Blank SSD with an MBR. When I installed Ubuntu I chose this disk for MBR. I think moving the MBR to drive 1 would be best... I'm asking cause I want to prevent making an irreversible change that breaks everything. I do not want to lose any data on the other disks. Should I just: bcdboot c:\windows /s c: If that works, how delete MBR from the blank SSD? Does dskmgmt.msc work? After MBR is deleted: diskpart select 4 | diskpart clean | diskpart convert gpt Or should I download a separate program that likely requires a bootable USB stick to do this? Thanks
  4. Hello, I want to get a NAS for a tax office and I'm looking for suggestions. Want to spend around 400-500 dollars. Surprised how much manufacturers charge for a tin box with no drives. I can get 2X 3TB drives for 300 bucks (WD Red) And a cheap box for 100-250 bucks. Want to use raid 1 (mirror) Any suggestions? The office also has 2 noisy old servers that aren't used anymore. Is raid worth it? Is it safe enough to just have 1 drive with no backup. We would be working off of the NAS all the time. Computers are satellites, they hold the software but no data. Seems kinda pointless to buy one of the ~300 dollar NAS that come with 1 hard drive
  5. I want the keyboard. Cause then I can type like Batman! 120WPM!
  6. I like the Kova, it looks super cool! This mouse would make an awesome gift to my sister. She's playing witcher 3 right now!
  7. My storage setup is a 320GB HDD (on a laptop) I back my stuff up onto somebody else's 500GB (I think) external drive. I use a 320GB HDD because that's what my laptop came with and that's what I could afford at the time. I barrow the external drive when my laptop HDD get's to full. (which it pretty much always is) Planning on using a 1TB HDD and a 128GB SSD in the future, HDD for storage, and SSD for boot and games.
