  1. Doom, rise of the tomb raider are to amazing games that will put your new hard ware to great use.
  2. That doesn't mean the prices won't shift anyway.
  3. 1060 would be a much bigger gaming upgrade. However I would wait for the new amd gpu's to launch before making my decision on which gpu.
  4. Get a new gpu, it a 1070 would be bottlenecked by your i3 but not in all games. Wait on a cpu because zen is going to be here soon and that should in theory make the cpu market much better.
  5. 8gb will run every single game out at max settings without problems that I know of with the exception of just cause 3. But that game has a few problems.
  6. I say just get a single 1070 and save yourself from worrying about sli. 780ti sli vs a single 1070 is a pretty massive difference in wattage 500tdp vs 165?. I switched from a 780ti to 1070 instead of going sli, which was an option for me. So that's my vote.
  7. If it will? It basically has. I can't think of a game in recent memory that wasn't a crappy port to being with that does not support 21:9. I have had my ultra wide for 2 years. It's probably not going to be an aspect you see in a lot of internet videos but movies have been 21:9 for years. It wasn't designed to take 16:9's place.
  8. 15388728_1210052879088581_1635339075_o.jpg?oh=8eabb47c2bb0f839b6f22bca2313bc52&oe=584BA490 I am playing Gears of War 4 with my neighbor right now, he brought his tv over and we are running it off just my tower. We are doing splitscreen coop campaign and it works perfectly other than me not being able to figure out how to play in fullscreen. Both of us at 1080p 60fps, alibeit medium high settings.

  9. you bought a 3gb version? it is slower than a 6gb if you did.
  10. It looks like it sold out. Might as well kill this thread unless someone knows how to help me find something with similar specs at a similar price.
  11. Not only do you definitely not need 16gb, I do heavy gaming with chrome open and still don't use 8gb. Only just cause 3 can make my pc act like it wants to use more than 8gb. I was hoping for 6gb, that would be perfect. But not an option.
  12. This isn't going to be for handling large video files frequently.... Yeah pretty much that, added it to the post.
  13. Looking to replace my mom's tablet again but this time with a bigger budget, last had an intel atom and it was junk. https://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/Acer-Aspire-Switch-Alpha-12-SA5-271-37QB-Signature-Edition-2-in-1-PC/productID.2740223100?tduid=(196577d5dba90d88ec0357acd0de177d)(256380)(2459594)(qcLRzjFniJE-dXGc91HnFMUfuPhAXhUTbA)() This looks like a great piece of hardware for the price. My one concern is that 4gb will not be enough. I don't have first hand experience with windows 10 on anything less than 8gb and there seems to be no 8gb option. What does everyone think? Edit: Oh and this will be used for typical mom stuff, email, facebook, maybe light gaming like words with friends or candy crush but nothing intensive.
  14. It's basically a less efficient 1060 3gb as far as performance goes. It should just be a little less than the cost of a used 1060 3gb. (not that it would be easy to find one)
  15. I just sold my 780ti for 130, but I don't live in a city so it's much much harder to find a buyer for me. I would expect most people to get at least $120-150 for a used 780 right now. But it really depends on where you live and finding a buyer. I thought my 780ti was worth 175.
  16. Yes games will run with better frame rates (usually but not always) and at higher resolutions, even if you don't have a 4k the supersampling of the ps4 pro rendering in 4k or 1440p should still improve image quality noticeably. The games will run differently but most of the time will be locked down on the multiplayer side for balance. So they will just lock the frame rates and resolutions the same as the non pro counterpart. And the only games that are likely to be exclusive to the ps4 pro in the future are VR But that's just a guess from me, no hard facts about that.
  17. DT has great value, it's got everything that comes with the FTW gaming, it's just binned to produce stock clocks. However it does not mean it's a bad overclocker, as you can see in my signature I bought one. I am running it at 2.1ghz. The hybrid is a liquid cooling, very unnecessary unless you have horrible heat issues with your case airflow.
  18. http://forums.evga.com/Update-11916-with-NEW-BIOS-EVGA-GeForce-GTX-108010701060-PWM-Temperature-Upadate-m2573491.aspx Found the answer, you need a bios update to unlock the extra power target, now I can run my power limit to 122%
  19. I was hoping someone could definitively tell me what the slave bios is for, I know it's good as a backup for custom bios installation but does it increase power taget? I added my thermal pad mod to my 1070 tonight and I decided that I would like to see if I could get a little more MHZ out of this thing. Normally power limit is 112% but I see many online say their slave bios has a power target of 120% yet I have no way of access that extra power. Any help is appriciated.
  20. If your gpu usage isn't max, and your cpu usage is and you feel like there is lots of stutter despite good frame rates it's almost certainly your cpu. Unforuntately the only thing you can do is lower settings or overclock. Try lowering npc variety or count or whatever that option is to medium. I don't think the crowds are impressive anyway. I run a 4790k@4.7ghz, even on my cpu areas like novigrad will hit it really hard and cause my minimums to drop as low as the 60's even when the gpu isn't under full load. It doesn't sound like a system issue so much as user isssue. Are you newer to pc gaming? Are you just used to all your other games not strangling the life out of what is some pretty good parts? lol Witcher 3 is a system crusher. Though i5's bottlenecking gpu's is seems rare in the last 2 or 3 years cpu's seem to really be holding back the limits of gaming. Dx12 was supposed to help but I am not seeing it. Uhhh maybe I am ranting at this point. It's late...
  21. Unfortunately I don't know. I've been waiting 10 days now and haven't gotten any information on mine. I don't know how to get any information without calling them either. It's only confirmed my request was added on their site.
