  1. CthulDude thanks for the links... i think that will be my final choice! thanks for your help!
  2. you all agree on the 4670k! a 2600k with an h67 mobo? that's the thing... with that cpu i'll have to buy a new mobo to take full advantage of that cpu... and for the features and prices, it will be better just to get that z87/i5 combo! chromeboy42... the plan is, as far as now... go sli 2 gtx660's... seems a good plan to you guys?
  3. Hi guys again!... been away a while... college, work and stuff.... my current computer is decen't in some parts but it comes short in other stuff... i haven't done much editing and so on recently but that will change and some form of numerical simulation will come too, but gaming is always present... but i don't need 2 xeon e5 + quadro k6000 and xeon phi... current hardware is: - sandy g620 - 8gb samsung green ddr3 1600 @ 1066 custom timings (mb+cpu limitations... i will stay with this memory, ocing it can hit 2000-2133mhz without much issue, i've seen some going to 2200 for a memory that's not even intented for oc and with no heat spreaders) - msi gtx660 tf3 oc modded bios - gigabyte h67ma-usb3-b3 (matx, 2x sata 3, 4x sata 2, 1x pcie x16, 1x pcie x4, 2x pcie x1 all 2.0, -audio realtek alc 889, 2 usb 3.0, total 12usb 2.0) - 1tb wd red + 160gb wd blue - corsair cx500 - Tt air cooler what i'm planning to change is cpu and mobo... my main mb option, and really like this one, is gigabyte's z87x-d3h... i love that motherboard, the looks, features and price... the only thing i kinda don't like is the sound subsystem of it... but doesn't bother me that much, i can spend a bit more on the mb but i love that d3h... now the cpu... i'm bending my head in choosing an i3 4130/4340 or an i5 4430/4570/4670k... ik that even the i3's are fine for gaming, but future stuff... well, i5 will do better... i'm 1080p gaming planning on adding another monitor but just for multitasking... gaming will be just in 1... i'm also trying to save money... now... i can take amd suggestions... i'm trying to stay away from it, not cause i hate it or nothing.. i just love that d3h mb and trying not to make much hassle on platform change... the other thing was... just buying an 1155 core i5/i7 for my current mobo and staying with that h67 ( ) wich is the least desired option... anything you can say or suggest will help... i love gigabyte motherboards! and if price can stay 140~ us, better!
  4. i have an 80gb maxtor diamond max, that i actually gifted but i got it back cause i bought a wd blue 160gb like 5 years ago, and been runing from there but is FULL, i'm using the 80gb maxtor as back up! i also bought a 1tb wd red for main storage. i got that cause i rather have a bit more quality, but i've been waiting for it since long ago, got it outside my country! otherwise i will not be able to find a wd red here! i'm in need of storage my facebook share, vic e castillo: https://www.facebook.com/vic.e.castillo/posts/498073476948547
  5. thanks for the reply guys!.. but like i was saying, prices here are very different, not to say off the scale, i'm on a budget, i will consider RED drives also! plus the hdd is not the only thing i'll be buying
  6. good day folks! i'm finally able to buy new storage, i've been on an old drive that has been full for years, and i'm from a country in wich prices are very different! i was thinking of buying a 1tb wd blue, but i've been kinda worried about the loss of my data, i know failure rates are very low, but i don't want to take any chances so my options now are: 1 x 2tb seagate: have a decent priced drive that i trust or 2 x 1tb wd blue in raid 1: paying a bit more, but having redundancy and safety i want to know your opinion on this, i will be buying the final decision in the next days! thanks!
  7. omg so awesome stuff!.... go linus! :D my facebook post! https://www.facebook.com/vic.e.castillo/posts/451070574982171

    CX600

if it is the cx600v2.. then you should havo no problems.. that one can output 46 at 12v!
  10. single gpu performance? a 7970 ghz is a great choice and still can overclock, and great price too... can recomend a titan if you have a large res screen or multiple.. but it is your choice.. if you want to have a titan, and you can spend the money, go for it, very solid performer! and no need to change psu with both the titan and 7970!
  11. you can use the corsair sp120 quiet edition/low noise adater.. bitfenix spectre pro... if you can get some phobya... the silverstone air penetrators are a good choice too... there are some enermax 120mm led fans that are quiet and more ecenomical, enermax t.b. silence, around 10us bucks each! the best choice for rads are the silverstones and the corsair sp120s... next, the bitfenix...
  12. you can use corsair sp120 quiet edition/low noise adapter... bitfenix spectre pro... if you can get some phobya fans... and the silverstone air penetrators are a good choice too.... there's a cheap, led 120mm enermax fan that is quiet and very affordable, enermax t.b. silence... are kind of a good choice too, around 10us bucks
