  1. @GOTSpectrum Looks like I get a free steam key. Thanks .
  2. probably no need to remember your old name, your email address is linked to your passkey
  3. There are 4 projects on the CPU side which are different than those on the GPU. All processes are beneficial.
  4. @CPotter I think that if you invited Peter McKinnon to show up as a guest, he would. https://www.youtube.com/user/petermckinnon24 He's a fellow Canadian Cinematographer / Photographer / Blogger from the GTA. He started posting videos 2-3 years ago and his channel blew up incredibly fast having 3.4 million subs currently. Now as much as he's not quite in the 'tech' community... he offers much in the tutorials on how to use photoshop and premier, which I do think that there's some cross platforming that can be done where people can be interested in it. I think he would geek out over the office setup that you have and I hear he recently obtained a RED Camera(?). I also think he'd mesh well with Brandon and a lot of other people in the community who might want to up their content. But maybe that's just a bigger sort of collab that should be done down the road. And of course take my comment with a grain of salt, I can't actually make it out to LTX ;_;
  5. yeah... I'm poor, but I still paid extra for my phone so I would only have a 2 year contract rather than 3.
  6. The ruling was made a long time ago, but now it's enforceable.
  7. This is mostly a follow-up story from the past year or two. Source CBC News: http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/crtc-wireless-code-cellphone-1.4161711 This should at least be useful for @Linus when he's reviewing phones or maybe more cumbersome. Earlier reports indicated that cellphones makers might have to provide the phones to the carriers unlocked from the start, or from the manufacturing floor.
  8. pretty sure it would be chopped down to "is only game, why get mad?"
  9. See now, if she had half a brain she might have been more influential saying "we're going to help educate people with free education to make apps like Pokemon Go. In order to do that we're going to allow you to catch them all at the polls."
  10. Overwatch has become so popular in Asian countries that politicians are starting to use them in their ad campaigns. What would you do or think if your politicians started using Overwatch? Could there be a Bernie Sanders montage out there using Overwatch? Could that have boosted his popularity even more? If Hillary used it would she have lost votes for being disingenuous? 11. It would have been neat to see a version of this where the batteries would be serviceable by removing the silver mic spot, maybe a twist cap. at least that way you can replace the batteries. I've found other headphones slightly serviceable where you could at least re-solder the contacts, but most people don't have soldering equipment..As most of the problems I've had with headphones is exactly that problem, or the fact that the audio cable itself breaks. that's why I tend to stick with headsets that I can plug in a new 3.5mm jack. I think someone might be in better business if they tether the buds together, with a rechargeable battery and all the hardware along the wire. But I'm not a big audiophile, and some of the mentions in the last video might be worthwhile for me to be looking into.
  12. which begs the question, can you do a tech quickie on those on TV 'ear buds' for secret service or how hearing aids work?
  13. iFixit tears the AirPods apart, doesn’t like what it finds Here's an article on the iFixIt Guide: http://arstechnica.com/apple/2016/12/youll-never-be-able-to-fix-apples-airpods-but-theres-neat-stuff-inside/ Summary: like most things Apple it remains hard to service the product should you need to. To me this is increasing the idea of disposable hardware even though it would possibly increase landfill use, or at least increase the amount of hazardous waste in landfills unless taken to tech recycling depots. But at 159USD for disposable hardware is far from appreciated. Had they marked prices lower they might have actually marketed use well beyond the apple ecosystem. Plus: Linus I like your 'Sick' / 'Normal' voice vs. the Chihuahua of tech.but keep the Chihuahua for Techquickie
  14. I just built my nephew a system that contains on board graphics with an Intel CPU, and all that's missing is the graphics card. he's using this to start producing and rendering videos he's going to make onto youtube. Or maybe I'll replace the Geforce 670 that's currently residing in my system, and let my nephew worry about getting his own video card. Anyways long time follower, and first time on the forums.
