  1. Hi All, I'm a photographer and have had years of good service from a colour accurate lg monitor but have recently switched to a new MacBook Pro 14" and a Lenovo p32-20 monitor. The monitor has a colour calibrated setting which I am using but it looks vastly desaturated compared to my new 14" MacBook Pro which are apparently also very colour accurate? I would really like these two displays to match so I can also edit on the go and know my output will always be the same. Should I adjust the MacBook - or the monitor? Any suggestions on how to approach this problem are welcome.
  2. I have a windows pc with wifi 6 used as an ssd file server / work pc. I have a second pc in the same room and a macbook pro. When copying files to the macbook pro from the file server it copies around 110MBPS or close to full gigabit speed over wifi, however the second windows pc (also wifi 6, has a tp link ax3000) only copies from the file server at around 30-40 MBPS or around 300 megabit, but will happily copy at 110MBPS / full gigabit when connected via ethernet. Extra info: Wifi router is a nighthawk ax6600 Both pc's set to "prefer 5ghz" 5ghz has 80mhz enabled both pc's show a link speed of 1.2 gigabit over wifi 6 All three computers in a small 3mx3m / 12ft x 12ft room.
  3. Also, when I copy files to my Macbook they copy at around 110MBPS or close to full gigabit speed - the issue is isolated to one windows 10 PC.
  4. Okay so since my last post i have confirmed both wifi adaptors are wifi 6, the router however was wifi 5 so i have replaced this with https://www.centrecom.com.au/netgear-nighthawk-rax70-100aus-ax6600-ax8-8-stream-tri-band-wifi-6-router?gclid=Cj0KCQiA-qGNBhD3ARIsAO_o7ynBO19QzghzjBDei8Dw51U5_L35JVzgvQUriaSWDSy-HpwZI676qvsaAubBEALw_wcB this. Both computers now show a wifi link speed of 1.0gbps to 1.2 gbps and i have enabled the widest band available through the router. copying from one to the other i get 110 MB/s (full gigabit saturation pretty much) and over wifi i get around 30MBPS which is under a third of my theoretical wifi speed. Any new suggestions?
  5. My adaptors are the built in ones on Asus b550 gaming mobo, and the router is a netgear ac1200. Motherboards >> https://rog.asus.com/au/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-b550-f-gaming-model/
  6. I have 3 pc's at home I use for work all in different rooms. Ethernet is not an option, but all have wifi 6 and I have a wifi 6 router. I'm hoping to get at least gigabit transfer speed between them all for photo editing considering 9.6gbit theoretical throughput. Do I have to change some settings on my pc's because I'm getting 0.07 Gbit right now?
  7. My housemate is an engineer and wants to start doing cad at home for relatively simple single or few part designs (brackets, mounts, etc), please do a budget cad workstation like you did with 4k editing. I've suggested he get a used m4000 which are dirt cheap here in Australia and something like an E5-2650 v3 in an old hp z440. Would love to see your suggestion for a "New" build also. He wants to build it by the end of June - for tax reasons haha - but may have to do it sooner as he has pretty consistent blue screen issues with simple tasks on his current pc. Thanks Team! 8. Hi All, Have recently installed premiere on my pc (6700k, rx580, ssd, 16gb ram) and have been getting significantly longer render times and exports (10 times as long) than on my 5 year old macbook pro! Premiere recognises my gpu and allows me to select open cl rendering with gpu, however it renders slightly faster selecting to use software encoding. I have tried a number of possible solutions found online such as changing registry items, reinstalling drivers, disabling intel gpu and finally had a small amount of success after reinstalling windows, it rendered once at the correct speed and then next time i was in premiere it took ten times longer again with an identical project. I'm out of ideas and would really appreciate any help.
  9. Could "airplay" to an apple tv if you have one and want to take it with you.
  10. Hi All, At the moment i have an nvidia 7600gt running in my main computer (mac pro) - but does however only boot in safe mode due to common issues with these old cards. I'm in the market for a new GPU for it but free is better than the random we pay for cards here. Thanks Very Much, Nathan (Australia)
