  1. An R9 290/290X would destroy my PSU as well
  2. I'm super indecisive, and I want to pick between these two cards. Is the Ti worth the $45 difference? It's more future proof, but is that more future proof? I'm coming from an HD 7570, and I usually play games like Fractured Space, War Thunder, and World of Warships. Maybe a couple of AAA games, but mostly those listed. Playing at 1080p only. MSI GTX 1050 OC 2G ($85) https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814137058&cm_re=msi_1050-_-14-137-058-_-Product EVGA GTX 1050 Ti SC ($130) https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487291 A quick response would be great since I want the card this week Thanks EDIT: There a couple of 960s for $100 on ebay
  3. Like the title, I want to know which has better overall cooling: Gigabyte's Windforce 2X or EVGA's ACX 3.0, both with two fans. The cards are nearly identical in specs otherwise and cost the same. Card in mind: 1050 Ti
  4. Some cheap factory Dell board. That's why I'm not confident in its power delivery. It's a factory Dell PSU and motherboard so that's why I'm not confident in the motherboard's power delivery. I did manage to find a Gigabyte 1050 Ti with power connector so I'm really considering that as well. It's an extra $50 though.
  5. A 1050 Ti definitely sounds nice but a lot of them don't have power connectors and draw from the board. I'm not very confident in my motherboard to be able to run that. If you come across one with a power connector for a nice price then lemme know
  6. Doesn't the 570 beat the pants off the 1050 Ti? Some 1050 Tis also don't have power connectors either. 570s are way out of my price range and the demand is high because of miners. On ebay they're selling like hotcakes upwards of $300. The 560 is a bit more beefy and has two fans compared to the single 1050 fan on the models I specified. I think the temps should be around the same due to 1050's efficiency. Only the higher end 1050s have two fans and a power connector but with the extra cost it's about the same as a cheap 1050 Ti without power. Also I don't feel confident with their power draw from the board. My puny 7570 is OC'd and I really push it in game settings, and temps never get more than 75 C. I imagine with these new cards they'd perform better than the 7570 in all aspects. The one with better performance and lasts long is what I'm really looking for.
  7. Hey guys I'm planning to get a new GPU this summer. At first I was set on getting an EVGA GTX 1050 SSC 2GB. After more research it seems the GIGABYTE RX 560 Gaming OC 4GB has more performance for the same cost? I'd like to overclock, but 1050s don't have power connectors unless they're the high-end models, but they have CUDA and GPUBoost. All 560s do have a 6-pin, and the 560 mentioned above has 2 fans. I'd imagine power from the PSU is better than pulling power from the board. Also the 560s seem to be more futureproof with better DX12 support and better texture rates, not to mention 2GB more of memory. I'm not much of a AAA gamer but that's probably gonna change with a new card. I currently have an HD 7570. 1080p gaming. Any other cards I should look at? I don't really want to drop more than $130. Stock Dell PSU 460w but I think it's got plenty of room for power. Is a 1050 2GB efficient enough to compensate an overclocked 560 4GB? Sounds wrong, right? I also do some After Effects rendering, CUDA should be an advantage here? Does the 560 perform enough to compensate for lack of CUDA? Also Vega should be announcing near the end of the month, will 560 prices be dropping enough to wait? I'm getting rather impatient just imagining 60 fps with high detail *drool * I also hear that 470/480s 570/580s are selling like hotcakes due to mining. In essence, 1050 2GB or 560 4GB, which for same price? I'm leaning toward the 560, because of the power connector for overclocking but the 1050 has CUDA, Ansel, and GPUBoost and whatever NVIDIA stuff which is also enticing. Thanks
  8. Rockin' the generic Dell factory keyboard and generic Dell factory mouse. Audio Technica M40x replaced an old pair of Turtlebeach X12s. Living the good life *sigh*
  9. I have an old Radeon 7570 which is running on its last legs. Even with tuning and occasional cleanup, it overheats up to 100C and crashes at least once a day. The fan sounds like a literal helicopter engine and you can hear the squealing from the other side of the house. It'll make any enthusiast cry. Would really like this to upgrade and keep me going for another 4 years. I've been trying to save up to find a 950 or 960 but this would really help. Praise RNG, oh let it be me!
