  1. i think my biggest issue is I only have 2 of the 20TB drives and i dunno they are expensive lol. I paid $200 a piece for them and I figured it might be easier using unraid and working up to larger drives but then again i like that truenas is free ... hmm decisions to make
  2. So I have used truenas scale in the past but I didn't know with just having the 2 drives how it would be and I am thinking it wouldn't be good with an N100 Intel cpu that is so low powered
  3. Good Evening LTT folks. I am trying to figure out what would be best for my little NAS Setup. I am running a cw-adln-nas board with a Intel N100 CPU and 16GB of DDR5 RAM and 2 20TB ironwolf pros. I basically need to know what you all would run with this type of setup. I really so not plan on running anything in a VM or anything except maybe a pfSense setup since this board has 4 2.5gb ports. Any recommendations would be helpful as this isn't hardware to run tons of stuff on.
  4. Thanks for all your help!!! Wired up and worked perfectly!
  5. Good Evening. I am in need of some help. I have a situation that requires me to do a little bit of DIY in regards to some power. I have a MeanWell PSU more specifically a NDR-480-48 which is used to power my MiGe Motor and controller board. This is for simracing. I have a Simucube SC1 OSW Style wheelbase setup and I am trying to wire a powerswitch. Currently I am wired directly to an IEC plug which has a powerswitch but since the controller box is away from my sim rig, I want to make a powerswitch with my emergency stop. So, so far I have tried using just a standard 3 prong switch and we'll that has ended in disaster everything and now looking to use a 6 prong switch. Here is how I currently think to have the switch wired. I have 4 wires coming from the switch.[2 white, 2 yellow] 2 are going to the IEC plug [Live and Neutral] and 2 going to the [L and N] parts on the PSU. Now on a 6 prong switch does it matter where things are wired as long as the L and N are on the same sides on each? I just want to make sure I get this wired correctly so I can hide away the controller box for my sim rig. Thanks for any help.

  7. I have the same shirt, mine came from a mystery shirt purchase, I have to many LTT shirts lol
  8. I'll take better pictures of the PCB and all that tomorrow but here is the pictures from the sale post when I bought it. I am assuming the card is not usable due to seller stating the board has 3 red lights by the power connector but I never verified. Like I said I would like to get a deep clean on this so I can make it look good to do my project.
  9. What is the best way to clean a card that was used for mining in a humid environment and is corroded. I just want to clean the corrosion off to make it look as close to new as possible so I can make a shadowbox art project out of it. The GPU is an EVGA 3070 and I paid like $75 for it knowing it was corroded...anyways...what's the best things that can get it clean?
  10. As for the slow startup and everything have you tried a fresh install of windows? Or are you saying it's slow to post?
  11. Good Evening, I am building an itx nas and I currently have a pickle that I need to solve and maybe the community can help me make the better decision. I have 2 motherboards to chose from and honestly do not know which would be the better decision. Motherboard choices: AsRock X570 Phantom Gaming-ITX/TB3 Only thing I think is a benefit for this, is that the board supports Thunderbolt 3 and the Chipset is x570, everything else is pretty standard, single m.2, 1gb lan, wifi 6, does not support AM4 coolers since this board has a 115X Cpu cooler layout from factory (wierd I know) Asus B550-I Strix This board although does not have thunderbolt 3, has 2.5GB Lan, wifi 6, dual m.2. (Supports AM4 Coolers ) The nas is going to be running TrueNas Scale with a Ryzen 5 5600G, 64GB DDR4 3600Mhz, 70TB of HHD, 512GB SSD(OS Drive), 32GB Optane NVME for ZFS Cache, and a PCI-E 4x 6 Port SATA HBA that I had lying around. The nas I am building is the same NAS that linus built about a year or so ago in the Jonsbo N1 Case, I really liked the Small form factor of it all and since I got rid of all my servers, its time for me to get this up and running. The motherboard is the last thing I need sorted. HELP ME COMMUNITY!!!
  12. My daughter only uses her pc for minecraft and roblox so I thought maybe the 3800x would be better...but no worries.. Next question. For motherboard choice I have 2 options and I'm not sure which one to keep. I have a Asrock x570i TB3 [single m.2] or I have an option to get a Asus Strix B550i for $120 shipped to my door. Of course I like the idea of having 2.5GB nic and Dual m.2 slots even though to get my 5 sata ports I have a small pci e sata controller...not sure which would be better. Any advice with that?
  13. I was gonna user either unraid or truenas...haven't decided yet. There isn't really anyone that will be using it other than my household. I'll be backing up systems and probably running somethings like plex amd what not. I do like the ability to test specific things for work prior to doing them at work..like right now I'm learning how to build Ubuntu offline repository for air gapped networks...and of course making simple VMs for that is good...also testing things with Active Directory and all that..I dunno figure I needed more cores to do all that
  14. Good Evening, I am working on building a new NAS, the pi nas I had going I just didn't like so I sold it to fund new nas build. Anyways I'm following essentially what Linus did using the Jonsbo N1 Case except CPU...I am trying to figure out would a 3400G or 3800X be better for a NAS? Might have some very light virtualization but nothing too crazy..I dunno...just looking for some ideas. BTW I do have both a 3400G not being used and a 3800X in my daughtes roblox PC
