Hello all, "Which AMD AIB partner card would you buy?" was asked or something similar at the end of a recent(last 6 months?) WAN show. I was hoping either one of you remember which episode or the response. If I recall correctly, it was Sapphire, Powercolor, and XFX but I can't say for sure. I'm trying to settle on a card for a new build and it's the missing link. Thanks in advance!

I'm currently running "trash panda." I used to have an Apple(I know, I know. I have now ascended!) 2010 iMac 27' all in one. The logic board took a dump a few months ago. It would cost $600 just for a replacement board, so I sold it for parts. I started to scramble looking for deals to get a rig together. I haven't built one in almost 10 years. I was planning on getting a GPU but then the news broke about the next gen cards so I decided to wait. Meanwhile, I was taking out the trash and opened the apt's communal trash bin to find a tower dumped in there. I recognized the markings as a "higher end gaming pc" from back in the day. Upon opening what I've been calling "codename: trash panda," I was delighted to find a XFX R7800 series ghost. It has served me well, but I would like one of the new Polaris cards. It comes down to price for performance. I would like something to run 1080/1440 like a beast. I would love further ascend and get a 29' or 34' ultrawide. Freesync monitors are a steal compared to g-sync which is always important for a struggling grad student. Obligatory, "gibe nao pls."
