Need help picking out a CPU for my fathers server i am building hem. It need to run 3 VM's all at once with programs running on the man os and the 3 VM's. This PC will be on 247 365 being cooled by air. Any one got any ideas on what CPU will get the job done. Also do you think a i5 4670 will cut it or do i need something more like a Xeon or i7.

Best thing about the phone to me is the 2560x1440 screen res. Because we all know resolution is not just a number lol.

If it was that simple I wouldn't make a new post lol. no it drops to Windows Volume. I can still see the card if I pull up AIDA64 but the drive is not accessible to Windows

Rite now I am using 2 7970's in crossfire. As far as the games I play i am enjoying Battlefield Hard line bata and CS'GO. Downloading Grid Autosport as we type. Big racing fan but nothing good has come out for us in the past few years. I love FPS but its the same thing over and over again. Thats why i stick to CS lol.

Just a question I would like to get answered. I have a MegaRAID SAS 9260CV-4i that has been dropping out when i put load on the drives. I can reboot and it will appear as nothing happened but as soon as i put a real load on these drives the raid card just drops out of the pc. Its running a Raid 6 with 4 WD Red 1TB. As far as spec my motherboard is a Asus Maxmus VI Hero. I do have 2 XFX 7970's in crossfire taking up most of the PCIe lanes. I an taken out one of the GPU's and ran the Raid Card in the 16x slot and disabled the 4x lane to see if that was the case but i am still having the same problem. I know the Raid Card is a 8x PCIE 3.0 but it should run fine in the 4x slow with slower performance. I am ok with that because its only a storage drive i run no programs off it. Programs stay on the 4 SSD's in raid 0 off the motherboard chipset.

it sounds like you have some type of virus running in the background. Google these two programs rkill and Hitman Pro. Rkill will stop Any running process that shouldn't be running and HitmanPro will pretty much remove anything that shouldn't be there

I did the exact same thing. Upgrade from 8350 to a 4670K and I see no performance increase at all in gaming. I did see a small performance decrease in VMware when I ran multiple virtual machines other than that there is no real reason to upgrade

Any one have this problem. And i hope i am just stupid and cant find a on switch. All my LED in my corsair K70 do not work. Never spilled water on it or doped it on any thing. Unplugged it to switch my PC Case plunged it back in and it does not work at all.

Any one have any ideas on whats happening. I have a Dell 24 LCD that will work in Ubuntu Fedora and Kubuntu Linux but will not work in Windows. Tried a few video-cards and pc's. Its not my man LCD but i just want to know it makes no since to me.

Just one VM. I run windows in a VM just for a few programs that don't run native in Ubuntu. I do light gaming on it when we have down time like CS GO and Bioshock. I was thinking about the 6300 over the i3 or a i5 4670K from my home desktop and upgrade my home desktop to a i7 4770k.

Thanks for the reply. I have everything else for a leftover build. I have z87 gd45 for the board 3 1tb for my Storage. 1 Random ssd i found in my shop fro the OS. A super fast Raden HD 5870 for my GPU lol. And a Corsair case that i can't remember the name to. Also i have a over the top Corsair 750 powering the whole thing like i need 750wt for that system.

I am looking for the best cheap Haswell CPU that can handle VMware. Nothing big at all just using it to run Windows for the few phonograms that Ubuntu does not have a native solution. And light gaming within windows not running into a VM.

Started with Radio did not touch Boost clocks at all.

I did overclock from the bios I have a voltage up to 1.4 I tried experimenting with llc and speedster I tried with all set voltage is and fixed. Looks like I have the worst overclocking CPU ever lol

it's funny because every processor I have owned has sucked at overclocking lol don't get me started on my 7970 gigahertz Edition
