  1. I just did (report). But it says on the rules of the giveaway that "All duplicate posts will be deleted before the winner is drawn" So I am just afraid that - will they delete both of my posts to the giveaway?
  2. Hi, So I accidently replied two times on a giveaway because of internet connection being slow. I replied once at 6:10pm because the site crashed I thought that the reply did not process. THen later at 9:00pm I repeated the reply and it worked. But when I checked my activity apparently the first reply also registered. Please HELP! How can I delete one of the posts.
  3. Everything in this phone is pretty much overkill (at least for my use). Although what excites me the most is the camera. I have been looking for a phone that I can also use as a recorder for my youtube videos, unfortunately all the phones with excellent cameras are very expensive for me to afford. Also, I find the front facing speakers and 4GB ram pretty epic too. Good luck to everyone! Akhil S
  4. Hi, I have a standard 2-3USD HP keyboard and mouse. I have a cheap mousepad with blue top that easily rips off making the mouse really hard to move on the mousepad. I want to win this giveaway because so I can focus on getting better gpu and cpu for my new build. My twitter that I used to follow feenix is @techcept. Best Regards, Akhil S
  5. Can I use and external storage drive without messing with the stuff in it. It's a 500 GB external hard drive.
  6. Hi, So I have windows 10 currently installed and I wanted to downgrade to windows 8.1. No I don't have the windows.old folder and I have used this version of windows 10 for more than one month. I have a product key and download the windows installation media creation tool directly from Microsoft's website for windows 8.1. I don't have a CD/DVD reader in my laptop. However I don't have a USB that is larger or equal to 4GB. So if I order one, it will take at least 10-19 days to arrive by which time I will not be at home with this laptop. So can I make a partition in my internal hard drive and use that to make a bootable drive for the os. Are there any other ways to do it? I am at this stage showed in the picture below: Regards, Akhil S
  7. It must of been pretty nerve wracking! But come'on dennis, you wouldn't have died from that fall.
  8. In my opinion, you should go with the q6600, especially if all you will be doing is some photo editing and light video editing. Maybe some light games too. But if you're expectations in performance are higher, I would actually skip the q9650 and look for another processor like i3 from 3rd or 4th gen. I don't think the q9650 justifies the 2x price in terms of its performance.
  9. I have Intel G1 graphics that are integrated in my laptop processor, I believe. I have to use lowest settings and max resolution 720p to get anywhere between 35-45 fps on COD4 (game from 2007). So I am building a rig and this graphic card would be great! Thanks for hosting the giveaway, Akhil S
  10. Ok, I guess I'll just downgrade to Office 2010 if the font bothers me a lot. Thanks for all the help! Really learned a lot. Or I might buy a laptop screen with higher resolution and replace it with my current laptop screen. At least it works in google chrome! BTW, I went to office 2016 options->advanced->Display. There I found a checkbox that said disable hardware graphics acceleration. But unfortunately even after checking that box no changes were made.
  11. It's a 13.3 inch TN panel with a max resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. Yes, the resolution is turned to maximum on the screenshots. Its a laptop so there is not HDMI, VGA, etc. connection. I have adjusted cleartype but the font rendering that you see on the screenshot is not because of cleartype, its because of MacType. It might look bad to you but it is a lot better than cleartype when you have a 1366 by 768 resolution. Also there are no monitor text enhancement features because its a laptop screen. Assuming high resolution laptop screens and monitors are becoming more prevalent, the need for font rendering is going to reduce. Therefore there is not much chance of some expert developing a method to replace DirectWrite with other font rendering software? I will probably have to downgrade to office 2010 to be able to use mactype since 2013 and 2016 office force direct write. Even if I can disable directwrite from office 2016 or 2013, I would be satisfied. Is there a simpler method for disable directwrite on softwares or is it just as complicated like windows 10?
  12. I have tried multiple times at adjusting cleartype but its no match when it comes to the MacType font rendering. I was wondering if I could go into the Windows folder in my Local Disk C: and edit or change files to replace direct write with mac type. I have tried going in that folder and searching directwrite and a bunch of results come up that have the word direct write in it. I mean if cleartype works with all the windows 10, maybe I could replace cleartype files with mactype. The picture shows my search results when I search directwrite in my windows folder.
  13. I find ClearType, Direct Write, etc. font rendering systems not very aesthetically pleasing. So I download a free software called MacType on my Windows 10. The problem is that it does not render everything on Windows 10. I was able to make it run on Chrome by disabling direct write from Chrome://flags. I have read multiple articles in which they explained that Mac type only will work on places where GDI++ is being used. Places where Direct Write is present, Mac Type will not work. Also from Office 2013, they office applications started using direct write to render the fonts. So is there are way I can disable direct write individually from office. Also is there a way I can disable direct write from the entire windows 10 OS. I have tried going into the directx diagnostic tool but there is not editing options there. Please Help! Regards, Akhil
