  1. Problem: Unable to add win 10 to grub2 menu and can't boot to win 10 directly either. Setup: 5 disks: samsung 250GB ssd for win10 kingston 120GB ssd for Linux Mint intel 180GB ssd as fast storage (only used in win10) 2 random hdd's (1TB and 2TB mainly used by win10) currently inside Linux mint because of win 10 won't boot. History: set up pc with win 10 at first. decided to dual-boot with mint on separate ssd (Kingston 120GB). Did something dumb and placed grub on the main ssd with windows (Samsung 250GB). managed to add win 10 to that grub installation. everything was fine and I booted whatever os I wanted via grub on main ssd. later: messed up mint and had to format and install a new version on that ssd (Kingston 120). Grub got messed up and had to use boot-repair from live boot for mint to fix it. (grub then got installed on Kingston 120GB ssd instead) Now windows won't be detected. What I have tried running boot-repair again boot win 10 install usb update-grub boot-repair said I should include this if I went to a forum for help... ubuntu Pastebin
  2. Lenovo Thinkpad T580 seems fien yes. I won't be gaming much on it (got a tower for that). batterylife is kinda important, but as long as it has atleast a few hours it's gona be fine. display is not that important. thank you very much for your time and efforts
  3. ok, so I made a continuous screenshot instead and set some filters on the search. you can see some of the specs underneath the names of the products. will that be sufficient?
  4. you mean like komplett.no? its not in English so it may be better with just some recommendations of products with a usable msrp and specs
  5. Ok, so I need a new computer for school. Going to study for a bachelor in information security with a CCNA certification. So will probably have to run a few VMs and compile a bunch of c++ code. MUST be silent at idle and smaller loads like in a typical lecture and stuff. Budget around 1900 USD ( or like 15 000 Norwegian kroner (NOK)) Thanks in advance
  6. Now that nicehash got hacked. What alternative miner should we use? Awsome miner works, but i have trubble understanding how to just choose spesific gpu's to mine and my cpu won't do shit. unless you pay full price Minergate, easy but litle controll over independant devices. Any sugestions? ps: if any of my satements is wrong; please notify me pps: may all moderators delete if not relevant.
  7. Is it a limit for how many Hdd's and/or ssd's you can cram into your system, if we dont think about physical ports and space in your case?? For example is it ok to hook 7 ssd's up to a intel core-i5 6600k? If there is a limit, where do you find it?
  8. Story time! just upgrading my hdd. no space for both new and old. have my blockcahin on it but program on other disk. have a usb dock for 2 disks if that helps how to move it safe?? ideas i came up with: delete it and just hope that nothing important was there and that the coin data is elsewhere image disk over (dont know how to, but i can learn!!!) uninstall whole thing and recover using wallet.dat - tried on another pc but bitcoin core ddnt act the way i thought and could not find a place to place the wallet.dat after manyt hours of searching.... i know how to google.... import into electrum.... (ps: os and part of program on diferent disk again than blockchain) (pps: may all mod's kill this post if it breaks ltt policy. ) (ppps: may all capitol letters suck my gpu)
  9. I am currently in Taipei and wanted to find some cheap cpu or gpu's or any components at all. Any sugestions of where to go or look? (Ps: may the mod's of ltt forum always judge my content and its relevance)
  10. have you guys thought about the "datahand professional 2" by datahand systems? THAT would be interesting Anyway, have seen the video 4 times now and I still love it Keep it up kids
  11. i am just mining for fun. i use NiceHash. idk if that is smart or not but it was simple and had a nice ui. it seems like it uses multiple different currencies but idk
  12. So the title says it all but quick summary on why I wonder. Setup: CPU: intel i5 6600k (oc) GPU: Nvidia gtx 1060 (oc) Motherboard: Asus z170-e +stuff like hdds, ssd.... Here is the deal, I got a super cheap offer on my friends radeon rx 470 (like 40$ and it works). My concern is that I will get bottlenecked if I try to mine with both. AMD is generally better than Nvidia at mining, but I only mine for fun and want to test this out. Will I do fine by running them in x8 pci or do I have to swap board and cpu for it to work optimal?(btw not an option)
  13. Hi! I just think that it's neat! It would look badass with a bowser on it though....
