  1. Question (tl;dr): How does the onboard DAC/onboard audio on the ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming ITX/AC compare to that on the Gigabyte Z390 I Aorus Pro WIFI? (and compared to Asus ROG Maximus VII Impact if possible) Background: I'm looking to potentially upgrade from my Skylake i5 to an i7-9700k, but want to keep the same excellent sound quality as my current Asus ROG Maximus VIII Impact. My worry is that my current board might have a better DAC than available (and within price range) boards. When I switched to my Asus board from an old ASRock one, I was blown away by the far superior quality of the Asus' onboard DAC; now, I don't want to downgrade back down again. I don't have the space nor interest for sound cards or external DACs/amps Bonus: How good is the audio enhancement software bundled with those two motherboards' drivers? I quite like Asus' sonic studio currently, but their mini-itx ROG line up is far outside my budget
  2. I know that its just a backlight technology, I'm asking with it will I have better quality with the IPS panel or the VA one with quantum dot
  3. I'm in the market for a new monitor. I plan on giving my current monitor to a friend, so by no means am I going to be in a dual monitor setup. I've narrowed my search down to two very promising monitors but I don't know which will be better. I am looking for image and color quality over refresh rate, so the extra 15hz on the asus monitor isn't a big click for me. Both monitors are 1440p. They're also within $10 of each other so cost isn't a big click either. Freesync won't apply to me on the samsung monitor; I'm running a nvidia card. The samsung one is a VA panel with quantum dot tech and an 1800R curvature, sRGB of 126.6% (the one thing I don't understand about the specifications are these percentages so if you could explain please do). The asus one is an AH-IPS panel, normal features, and an sRGB of 100%. I'm leaning toward the samsung because of curved screen and the extra 2" of screen space, but I don't know the difference between quantum dot and IPS in terms of image quality. My current panel is IPS but is cheap compared to these 2 monitors so I can't compare them. Which one of the two technologies will have sharper images, which will have more vibrant color, and which will have richer blacks and whites? Spec Sheets: Samsung CH711 Asus MX25AQ
  4. sell and build a new pc. too many things in that pc need an overhaul to be good
  5. They might, but considering the proximity, I doubt it will be a different chipset. Again, reasonable doubt, not beyond.
  6. true, I'm not up-to-date on hardware, I've been out of the realm for almost half a year now that I stopped selling my customs
  7. First of all, try proper English, I can barely read that. Also, you probably shredded the screw thingies (I forget the proper term), like when you screw too hard it breaks the screw, which they can't do anything about. If they can replace it, you should do that for sure
  8. ehh, I say this at current time, where said ryzen chips are not available, i3 is dual core as well
  9. there are tons, specifically CAD I have no idea, I use a corsair spec-01 that cost me 30 in USD and its decent enough. medium cable management, big room, but doesn't support ssd mounting so I had to just 3m adhesive mine to the side
  10. I don't like this, only a dual core for almost 50 more than a 6 core bulldozer fx6300
  11. Zotac is shady support, go for something like EVGA for gpu, like Droidbot mentioned, your psu is overkill. I haven't an idea on pricing, but I bet it will be cheaper for 6700k and z170 with minimal performance degrade, nonetheless on a 1080p build.
  12. Personally, due to the small amount of ssd you have, I would suggest ditching ssd and just doing a sshd. Also, it's not worth water cooling something like a fx4350, instead downgrade to a hyper 212. With the extra money from aforementioned changes, you can afford an fx6300 easily, adding more cores.
  13. looks amazing sounds amazing is amazing feels amazing tastes amazing im getting off the topic of my thoughts... hope you pick me though!
