  1. i did another uninstalll, shut down the pc, unplugged for a minute, plugged it back in and booted up, reinstalled and it's running as it should!' thank you all for your help!!
  2. these are the screens i get while trying to start folding in the web client and the advanced control panel, this is after uninstalling and reinstalling the FAH client from they're website.
  3. So i've been folding 24/7 for about 3 weeks on my everyday gaming PC, however last night i paused folding to play osme battlefield, when trying to resume i found the FAH web client and the one in my taksbar had closed, when i try to lauch the web client, it tell me i need to install the FAH client or make sure the lients running, but i can't actually get it to run again. I tried uninstaling the FAH client, reboot, and redownload from they're website, but it does the same thing. any idea what might be the problem?
  4. ATM i'm only using my gaming pc. i7 6700k @ 4.4 Ghz MSI 980 Ti @ 1492 Mhz Corsair 105H CPU cooler. Fractal design Define case. But i'll soon be setting up my old PC to fold as well, old HP pavilion with Intel i7 870 @ 2.93 Ghz ASUS EN210 silent GPU (had an AMD HD 5770 HD, but my brother stole it lol) I've put some feeler's out to any contact's i can find to try to get some secondhand PC's to set up a "farm" in my office as well. Also, since i eventually want to set myself up for 4k gaming at 120hz, once the 1080Ti is realesed i plan of putting two of them in my gaming PC, so i will then put my 980Ti in my old PC for folding, as well as running two 1080 Ti's (or whatever Nvidia end up calling it) when i'm not actually gaming.
  5. i know pretty conservative, but i won't be able to afford to replace any expensive components any time soon, and i'm getting good productivity out of it so i figure that's alright, and thanks for the welcome! I'm not interested in any badges or anything though.
  6. So I had a new gaming PC built in may, and found out about folding last week, so i've decided to dedicate all of my free computing power to it. Currently i'm running an MSI 980Ti OC by 100Mhz core clock and 400 Mhz memory clock with after burner, an i7 6700k OC to 4.4 Ghz (was running stable at 4.8 Ghz for a few days but decided to dial it back for saftey sake) with a 240mm AIO corsai 105H, with some playing around with my case fan setting's i'm getting constant stable temps of 60-63 C on the CPU and i've set the GPU thermal limit at 75 C which gives me 91-95% GPU utilisation, so far in a full week of folding 24/7 I haven't had a single crash. I've just joined the linus team, but have a total so far of 1.9 million points, pretty happy with that. My brother, Mother and Mother in law all have medical conditions that the research they're doing may help which is my motivation to contribute.
  7. I am a smoker, I like it, various excuses blah blah I don't want to quit. But, if you feel you need motivation to quit smoking I highly recommend watching this video, actually even if you don't, watch it anyway, it's very interesting.
  8. Well they might be right, my best mate and his wife are both devote Christians, never try to force it on me, but they've said something similar and I'm not convinced myself.
  9. Here we go, this is MUCH better, okay so I am a HUGE bike nut, and car's ect, and a few pic's to go alot above, thank you Cacklingice for your help
  10. the picture's are hosted to photobucket and linked, will see if i can make this work lol.
  11. That's bassically what it felt like to me, last thing i remember is from about 15-20 minutes before the accident, then it was like coming out of some heavy drug induced sleep, like i'd gain consciousness for a few seconds here and there as they were bringing me out of the coma but that was after i'd already "been bought out", it took a week of me slipping in and out before my memory started working again,
  12. Hmm, i've figured out how to use the spoiler feture, but managed to delete all of my pics to the proccess bar one, but i am learning pretty much everything computor related on the fly at the moment lol
  13. you can do that on this forum? i'm only here coz Linus makes me laugh (and i've just started getting into Tech in general as an interest), how do I hide the content as you did in your quote?
  14. From experience, absolutely nothing, I was "dead" for 45 minutes after a motorcycle accident, my heart stopped, 3 weeks in an induced coma, no light's, no chat with Peter at the pearly gates, you just go black and that's it.
  15. If I were you, i'd be running really far away from this girl, she seems like trouble, IMHO.
  16. HA, no such thing as a prenup in my country, and when we met we were both dirt poor anyway.
  17. So i'm a huge bike nut, ridden dirtbikes my whole life and work on them as well, a few pics. Lot's of pics below.
  18. You'd be correct, give it a few year's and i'll get some sugar back in me though.
  19. That's a pipe dream and a half, you left out the get divorced, she takes everything you've ever worked for and the kids and you end up a bitter old man.
  20. I once dropped 22 g's on an R32 nissan skyline GTR, have it a good look over, ect, looked the good, god it home, took the carpet out of the boot to install a higher flow fuel pump and it was all rust, same under the carpet everywhere else, turns out it got flooded in salt water, was cleaned well everywhere you can see including under the car, but he never took the carpet out and the salt water sat under that, it was a write off but I did end up making back about 15 g's of it by selling part's, 10 of that just for the 700 rear wheel HP engine in it.
  21. This would be awesome for my nephew, he has Charcot–Marie–Tooth disease, and so his mobility can be very restricted and he loves watching movies, to be able to use one of these to set up a Movie room for him would be amazing.
  22. Well not today, but my latest big purchase was a 2015 Yamaha YZ250FX to add to my collection of motorcycles.
  23. something like this air compressor , get something with a tank (like the one on the link, automotive compressor's normally have no tank, and don't flow enough air to be worthwhile unless you spend a few hundred), you can get similar to the link for much cheaper, you can adjust the output pressure (in the one linked from 100 PSI (dont do that on a pc lol) down to 10psi (similar to a nearly empty can of air).
