  1. Sapphire RX 6900 XT Nitro+ recently, I noticed very high temps even during the night time when the Ambient temp is lower or around 18c. I already checked the GPU for dust and all 3 fans are working properly, when I bought it, the temps were about 85C on Junction Temp at 1000RPM, and here even with 3000RPM, it's hitting 110c max temp. My case has plenty of in-take/exhaust, I'm sure that's not the issue as temps before even during summer were sub 90c While I was playing a game today PC just turned off and it was unexpected, could be due to high temps? The GPU is out of warranty, I recently bought Arctic MX6 Paste, should I open up the card and repaste it, could it be that the thermal paste dried out? Thank you all for the input!
  2. I consider Gigabyte a budget brand, they have Aourus brand that has some premium quality products. Best bet is to run all the benchmarks, Idle temperatures for the GPU and ambient case temp at idle. Do the same at max load. Compare the clock speeds etc. Monitor which card has better clock speeds when under load, if they fluctuate or not. You can also try your luck OC-ing and see how they behave. Lastly run benchmarks like Unigine and 3dMark 3 times each to remove the margin for error. GL hope it helps.
  3. Thanks for the tip, I just sent the request to buy the GPU, should have it next Friday/Saturday. I've got corsair HS60 Haptic, pretty sound absorbant. But once I get my hands on the card I'll see if I have those kind of coil whines, I'll try to improve on it via software if anything.
  4. Hello LTT Forum members, I'm in process of buying second hand XFX MERC 6700XT for a REALLY affordable price, the card is still under warranty, bought in April. It has audible coil whine, as I know it's safe but the price is 35-40% below the current pricing. Is it worth buying it despite the flaw? Thanks!
  5. Components usually Die when you turn on the computer, not while it's on, so when you decided to turn your PC, something died. You might want to get your board checked out, do you have Warranty?
  6. Tbh every AMD stock cooler is decent, even the one I'm about to get with 3600 is small but keeps it nice and cool.
  7. Ryzen 5 1600 Stock cooler I'm using doesn't get past 60C
  8. It might aswell be a BIOS issue, have you been using BIOS lately? Try clearing out the CMOS, also if you have a power detecting screwdriver, check if the main BIOS chip has any power. I had similar issue like this and turned out the BIOS chip died for some reason.
  9. Current Setup Ryzen 5 1600 - Getting 3600 Tomorrow AX370 Gaming K5 F40 Bios Ver. Patriot Viper Blackout 3000 Mhz 4x8GB GTX 1060 3GB Problems: 1. I can't edit my RAM Speed in BIOS, it just doesn't let me edit it at all, defaults it to 2133 Mhz, I have to use Gigabyte EasyOC to overclock my ram. 2. I managed to edit to 2666 Mhz maximum, higher doesn't let me boot even with XMP. I suspect its because of the CPU IMC limitation to 2666 but I'v seen people overclock ryzen 1st gen higher than 2666 3. I can probably manage to get 3200 on Ryzen 5 3600 cause the IMC officially supports those speeds. 4. Motherboard max Memory OC is 3200, so there's no chance it can go over 3200, I have to change the board? Any Information is greatly appreciated.
  10. Setup: Ryzen 5 1600 Stock speed atm Aorus AX370 Gaming K5 F40 Bios ver. Patriot Viper Blackout 3000 Mhz GTX 1060 Zotac AMP I just got my new memory and installed it, it automatically defaulted to 21.33 when I booted in, when I went back into BIOS it didn't let me modify the frequency just choose the XMP profile which I did, it switched it rated 3000 Mhz but I couldn't boot in, the PC was freezing. I don't know if its IMC from my CPU that has max support for 2667 or the ram sticks. I'm using Aorus EasyOC to make it to 26.66 multiplier since I can't do so in BIOS. Any ideas what could it be? I'm not sure if its the CPU limitation cus it's not letting me put even 26.66 in the BIOS or is it the RAM. CPU-Z is identifying them as 21.33 Modules, so I went ahead and did and SPD Read and turns out it isn't 21.33 but 3000 as advertised. I'm keeping it 26.66 stable with software overclock but I can't make any changes in BIOS, any possible solutions?
  11. I told him already to send me back the card(I'd pay the postage) he's refusing to do so cus he's scared that I may found out he killed it. He just said He'll sue me for fraud. Q-Q
  12. In person, and yes I know it was working. I used it personally
  13. So basically I sent a dude 100% working GTX 1060 personally used freshly taken out of MB perfectly taken cared of card. He puts it into some cheap 3rd gen intel MB and chieftec PSU(trashy quality) Telling me his PC won't boot up. Then tells me he went to technician and that he checked the card saying the card is completely dead. Now keeping in mind the guy didn't even know what an X16 slot is and that he inserted it himself etc etc. Any thoughts on why the card is "DEAD" aka died? My thoughts are that he fried the card somehow and wants chargeback now. What should I do?
  14. I rechecked some information regarding this board, it seems it's not entirely as bad as they say. Some versions of BIOS would brick themselvs but overall its a pretty good board with good overclock potential(if you cool down the VRM's that are way too hot). So my plan is to just slap a fan on the VRM's and try 4 Ghz which should give some perfomance boost.
  15. It overclocks to 4.0 Ghz on Stock cooler, I wouldn't call that bad.
