GAH! Amazon UK why you gotta increase the price of Windows 10 without saying so....
So annoying when that happens with any product.
-
@dizmo You mean they inform as if like, the price drops or increases when it's in the basket/cart?
Interesting.. I didn't know that. I know it would say if it dropped when on wishlist but I didn't know about the cart, thank you for that
-
@Princess Cadence So, you can still fully use Windows but can't change the Wallpaper and that's just it?
Ah I see, Interesting. I thought that version was limited in terms of features lol
Hmm I might do that. We shall see.
-
Yup. Obviously not before, but if you add it to you cart and click the "Save for Later" option (can't remember exactly what it's called) it'll inform you of price increases and decreases when you look at your cart. Price fluctuation happen all the time, sometimes multiple times a day.
@Princess Cadence But but...I could never live without my tree spirit background
-
Yeah that's basically it, frankly Microsoft isn't far from making Windows free altogether to ensure they remain leaders in the PC OS market.
@dizmo Imagine my computer without a pony background? Heresy!
-
I kinda wish Amazon would perhaps make it so that like they inform you before actually physically increasing the price Would be nicer.
But yeah thanks for that @dizmo <3 I was unaware of that lol
-
@Tibbles Do you use Linux atm?
Reason I ask is because I remember seeing a status-update about that and Ubuntu and Distros.
I remember seeing a huge list of distros
Also, what are distros?
-
Haha, yeah that'd be nice but would require so much more work. You might be able to get email notifications of changes? I disabled most of my Amazon emails.
@Princess Cadence Right?! Do you just go to the Microsoft page and download it? Or how does that work? I sell computers from time to time when I get rid of an old one, and not having to pay for Windows again would be amazing.
-
@dizmo Just download the .ISO from Microsoft, install it normally and when it asks to active you press "active later" and that is it
That watermark always on top unless Full Screen applications (so gaming is fine) and you can't ever change the wallpaper.
-
Yeah I hate to sound like that guy but I don't trust G2A/Kinguin especially when it comes to something like Windows... or any other stuff similar to that, as Tibbles kindly mentioned, they are obtained via different and sometimes non-legal methods
Sorry man. Like I said, I hate to be that guy but.. it's a bit 50/50.
-
I hopefully won't have to buy another Windows license before I get a job. $100+ is just too much for me. I've bought lots of software from that site, and I now feel kind of bad about doing it. Oh well. It's not my fault...and it's not like I will get into any legal trouble from buying the keys...
Well, time to start buying games at full price again...
-
@Tibbles Wait...Humble Bundle is legit, right?
I thought Paul's Hardware was one of the few big YouTubers that actually gave decent advice...meh. I don't think he knew about it tbh
-
@Tibbles Well, if a company is willing to partner with TechSource, you know they're full of shit.
-
@Tibbles "Setup Wars"...it's such easy money...you just take a bunch of viewer submissions and film your reactions.
Hundreds of thousands of people seem to enjoy it, though.
-
@Tibbles I much prefer a "clean" look, though I am not the most minimalist person in the world.
Did the whole RGB trend start with the LGBT rights movement? Cuz...rainbows...get it?
Same. I wanna buy some old hardware to just tinker around with, you know?
