  1. Well seeing as this project has been complete for some time i thought it prudent to upload some final pics! As a sidenote the GPU is now a EVGA FTW 1080 on EK waterblock. This after EK f****ed (and many others) by going back on their promise to make the classified waterblock. It all got sorted and i could return the first card.
  2. Hi! My last build i remember doing some optimizing for my SSD´s, such as -updating firmware, -checking so that it´s not on the defrag schedule in windows, -turn off hibernation file -Shrink system protection -turn off drive indexing -turn off page file (swap file) (basically Seans win7 SSD guide) - link So...what is the word on doing this for an M.2 950 Pro with windows 10 installed on it? Thanks as always;)
  3. Outstanding advice guys! Thanks;) Why would ASUS (or other MB makers for that) not have warning on the waterpump header? that would give you more time before temps go bezerk ....
  4. Hi, Getting ready to connect up pump and fill my first custom loop....ever. So my pump is an alphacool D5 with manual 1-5 speedsetting, one molex connector and one 3-pin header with only one wire connected. My guestimation was molex for power and the 1-pin connects to the MB dedicated pumpheader labeled "W_Pump" in order to only proved pump RPM to the bios....am i right or will i send additional 12V to the pump or some other shit? MB: ASUS Z170 Deluxe - Manual The 1-pin: From the MB manual: Im hoping that "pump in" = RPM data only? Thanks for any and all advice;) Cheers!
  5. Looking at this image i guess i have to paint the other one too, looks just freakin silly!
  6. Tough it takes patience because the blades were a real biatch to mask off....and getting off after! But the vomit is gone! I have one more 92mm to do, but not today .....
  7. Great! Thanks for the quick reply´s guys and gals;) Note: The 1000W PSU is for future possible SLI setup and will prolly migrate over to future projects.
  8. Hi! Quick question (cuz i knows this forum rocks I´m putting this memory kit (CMD16GX4M2B3200C16 Corsair dominator plats DDR4 3200 2x8Gb) into this motherboard (ASUS Z170 Deluxe). Will i see ANY performance loss or slightest instabillity issues if i decide to upgrade in the future and ad another set of identical memory kit thus getting 4x8Gb? Yes i will OC modestly but not the RAM. The build: 6700k HXi1000 Custom watercooling loop EVGA GTX 1080 M.2 950 Pro 512Gb Cheers and thanks for any and ALL input!
  9. Well this build is finally under way! (vacation project) So a small update is in order. I´ve done my first hardtube bends and almost all the components are in place, still waiting for the GPU since i want the EVGA classified 1080. There was a clearance issue with the top radiator pushing against the MB I/O parts, but i drilled a few new holes ontop and now its in place.
  10. yeah this is my very first loop so high hopes on OC for both GPU and CPU, also i want a really quiet system. I made my choice on rads and cpu-block after reading up on Thermalbench.com.
  11. Hi! Putting together my first ever watercooling build (second PC-build) and i hope to get som input on the plan so far. It´s a gaming system and i will be overclocking both GPU and CPU. I also want to build towards having the option to put in another watercooled GTX 1080 in the future. Components: Skylake 6700k GTX 1080 (hopefully EVGA Classified) Case: Fractal Define S Watercooling parts: Black Ice GTS 420 X-flow top radiator (output) Black Ice 240 U-flow front radiator (intake) CPU-block Raystorm Pro GPU-block (whoever makes them for EVGA Classified later on) Res/pump combo: Primochill CTR phase II with D5 pump Fans: 120/140mm PWM (hope to run them around 1000rpm with gaming load) trying to choose between EK-Vardar 1600rpm and Noctua NF-A14 1500rpm...... EK-PETG hard tubing Probably Bitspower chrome fittings EK-Ekoolant EVO UV BLUE Simple sketchup of the loop (yeah it´s MS-paint ....) Any and all input is greatly appreciated! /P
  12. So i´m putting together a 6700k/Z170 system and don´t have too much experience with RAM. This will foremost be a gaming rig. Should i opt for lower CAS (like 10 ish) and limit frequency to 2400 or allow higher CAS and get 3000Mhz+ memory? Basically: CMD16GX4M2B2400C10 VS CMD16GX4M2B3000C15

  14. Thanks for the replys! I do want to have the SLI option in future so i might ditch the Intel 750 for an M.2 SSD if that helps? Also im very flexible on motherboard choice (prefer ASUS tough) Both the ASUS Z170 SABERTOOTH "Mark 1" and the "S" models have this info on pcie: https://www.asus.com/se/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH-Z170-MARK-1/specifications/ *1: The PCIe x16_3 slot shares bandwidth with SATA6G_56. The PCIe x16_3 is default set at x2 mode.Supports Intel® RST for PCIE RAID storage.*2: The M.2 socket shares SATA ports with SATA Express_1 port. Adjust BIOS settings to use an M.2 SATA device.*3: Supports PCIE RAID configurations via onboard M.2 and PCIEX16_3 slot storages.*4: These functions will work depending on the CPU installed.*5: These SATA ports are for data hard drivers only. ATAPI devices are not supported. So ...... Will Z170+6700k+Samsung 950 Pro(M.2)+Dual GTX1080 in SLI ...work/not bottleneck? http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1151/SABERTOOTH_Z170_MARK1/E11213_SABERTOOTH_Z170_MARK_1_UM_V2_WEB0304.pdf?_ga=1.29067829.800329923.1462138566 http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1151/SABERTOOTH_Z170_S/E10962_SABERTOOTH_Z170_S_UM_WEB.pdf?_ga=1.194717732.800329923.1462138566
