  1. I've tried it with on board graphics and GPU. It actually seemed to run better with the GPU that's why I kept it in.
  2. Okay guys I'm at your mercy. Here's a youtube link to what's happening when I power the system on: I'm a first time builder but I have spent the last nine months or so accumulating the knowledge and funds to build my first PC and unfortunately it is showing that no amount of learned knowledge can make up for practical experience. I've checked dozens of threads and tried to diagnose the issue but I can't come up with anything. I have also gone through the checklist of things to do (reset CMOS, Ram sticks in different slots, removed the motherboard and assembled on top of the mobo box, etc.) Here's what happens: I short the power switch pins to start it up and immediately the PSU fan, CPU heatsink fan, CPU led debug light, and the LED's on my graphics card will pulse on and off all at the same time. Sometimes the rate at which they pulse will increase if I let it go for 5-10 seconds (after that I feel too uncomfortable just letting it go like that). I can't get it to post or boot into the bios since it seems to be continously turning on and off. The only difference is the first time I started it up the ram debug light also lit up and the fans all seemed to run for a bit longer after which it fell into the same pattern as what I put above. Also the 24-pin power connector really struggles to fit into the motherboard, practically had to sit on it to get it anywhere close to connected with the clip attaching, not sure if that would have anything to do with it. Here are my conjectures: Since the CPU led debug light is the one that continuously pulses I have either a dead CPU (highly unlikely and I double checked the pins on the motherboard and the CPU to look for any damage), or there isn't enough power delivery to the CPU (faulty PSU) Finally the motherboard may just be a bad one. I picked this one because I loved the color scheme (best looking black/white mobo imo) but admittedly I noticed a lot of recent reviews of DOA boards mixed with the positive ones so maybe I just struck out and need to RMA the motherboard. I think it's either a problem with my motherboard or my PSU just need a direction to go in. Any help is appreciated and your patience even more so! 3. Well my peripherals currently stand at a pair of cx 5.00 g sennheiser earbuds I got from massdrop and a logitech g502 (which is a great mouse but I'm noticing that the height of the mouse strains the wrist for long gaming sessions).
  4. Building a new system in the Fall, currently running an 860m on my laptop so yeah would be a HUGE upgrade.
  5. As a college student the struggle is always to find hardware that not only gets the performance you want but also portability as you are frequently relocating and moving to new addresses. This would be perfect to take care of that problem.
  6. I don't yet but I can't find a case that I like as much as this one for SFF. Other possiblities: NCASE m1 (super expensive at $185 US but admittedly I'm already looking at spending a lot for this build) Cougar QBX (Everything fits but it doesn't look as nice and is a bit bigger) I'm looking specifically for designs like these since i don't like the cubish design of cases like the Silverstone SG13 or Corsair 250D.
  7. Yeah that's kind of a problem with the case as a whole. That's why I want to use a reference design so that I have the blower style heat sink to keep internal case temps as low as possible. I'll probably be using the H50's fan as an intake with the power supply fan sort of working as an exhaust. That's the hope at least. Worst comes to worst I might mod the case a bit and add some extra ventilation. Thanks for the response by the way! (I'm a first-time poster so i'm vunerable T.T)
  8. Woops forgot to post this as a reply and can't figure out how to delete this....
  9. Hey Peoples of the Community, I realize that this question may be old hat but I'm looking to build a new system at the end of the summer and want to include the new GTX 1070 (or GTX 1080 if budget allows) in an SFF PC Build. I don't want to shell out the money for an NCASE m1 and imo the Raijintek Metis is a better looking case anyway with it's brushed aluminium finish and choice of many colors. Now I've tried searching a bunch of threads and found one that said that with an SFX power supply you could fit a graphics card up to 270mm but the picture they included is not a 270mm graphics card (from what I can see, I'll include the link to the thread below). Anyway I was wondering if there was anyone who could show a picture of a REFERENCE Nvidia graphics card (preferrably like a 970 or up which are the same length as the upcoming 1080) installed in a Raijintek Metis case. I would love to use the case in my next build but it's difficult to see if I can make this work. Here's the parts list for what I want to throw in there for anyone who's curious: CPU: i5-6600K (maybe i7-6700k but don't really need one since this will be primarily a gaming machine) GPU: GTX 1070 or 1080 MOBO: ASUS Z170I PRO GAMING LGA 1151 mini-ITX PSU: SILVERSTONE SFX Series SX600-G 600W Memory: CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2666 CPU cooler: CORSAIR Hydro Series H50 120mm Storage: SAMSUNG 950 PRO M.2 256GB (boot drive), SAMSUNG 850 EVO 2.5" 500GB
