  1. *UPDATE* So I just realized I was stupid enough to plug in a ethernet cord into my PC that wasn't connected to my router when I brought it downstairs to test. After conducting the test correctly, I found out to that the port on my PC actually lite up, meaning it actually worked. So I guess my wireless LAN adapter must have died in a power surge (it was connected to just a wall socket and it is August, thunderstorm season)? The light on the adapter and the receiver don't indicate it's broken but perhaps those aren't really telling of anything. I guess I'll buy and new one and report back here for a information's sake.
  2. So I plugged it into my router and the light still doesn't turn on, so I assume there's something wrong with my LAN port on the mobo. When performing ipconfig/all in the CMD, I was told my "Media Disconnected". Is this the problem?
  3. Yep, mine looks like that so I don't think any physical damage has occurred to the port. I'm using a wireless ethernet adapter which has 4 ports. Tried all of them but to no avail.
  4. Ok, you mean inside the ethernet port? If so nothing looks bent.
  5. Hey, So after bringing my PC back from one location to another and plugging it back in, I found out that I wasn't connecting to the internet, with the error being that "there was no ethernet cable plugged in"; as well as their being no ethernet light being displayed on my mobo. After replacing my Ethernet cord, I was still getting the problem. I've troubleshooted, installed newer drivers for the Realtek PCIe GBE family controller, and I've reset my ipv4 and ipv6. I literally don't know what else to do. I can post any pictures if need be.
  6. So I noticed my GPU acting strange while my PC is idle, running no games. This happens on occasion but I dunno if it's anything I should worry about.
  7. So recently I switched from a DVI cord to a Displayport cable and all had went well in the few weeks I've been using it. However, for whatever reason I jump back on my PC after a break and I'm getting a "Displayport Not Detected" message from my monitor (ASUS VG248QE). I'm going to see if I can try plugging my PC with Displayport with a different monitor to see if that can narrow the issue (I'll update this post with the results). This happen to anyone? Is this a driver issue or something more pricey? * Oh and to add, my computer does detect a connection when I plug the port into my monitor via the sound effect from windows. * Update - So after plugging my Displayport cable into my friends monitor, it seemed to work fine. So this narrows down to my monitor. Why does it not pick up this signal all of a sudden? Update 2 - Tried the "unplug the power cord and wait 1 minute trick".... and it worked. Have absolutely no idea how or why. Any guess is as good as mine.
  8. Good idea. I'll probably still see if I'm valid and if I can take advantage of the opportunity, why not?
  9. Just wanna report back in case anyone else in the future has this problem and stumbles on this thread. So after switching to Displayport in the past 24 + hours, I haven't encountered any green dots. I think it was safe to say that the DVI cord may have been at fault. I guess moral of the story is to assume the best case scenario before replacing your most expensive part!
  10. So just an update. I took out my GPU out a few days ago and put it back in to see if that would solve something. After this I didn't experience the problem for days. Recently I had to take my DVI cord out and upon putting it back in I got the issue again. After fiddling with the DVI cord, I am able to fix the green dots. So now I'm thinking it may be the DVI ports or my cable is faulty (been using both ports so maybe it's the cable?) I recently just bought this Displayport so hopefully this won't give me this problem? The problem happens every so often so I'm not sure if my 970 is RIP anymore which is good.
  11. Ok, gonna run my onboard graphics for tonight and tomorrow to see if problem still permits. I don't know if I can RMA my card, hopefully there's a year long warranty...
  12. I mean I could try that but wouldn't that just be a temporary fix. The dots don't stay on my monitor forever. They go away after a restart or over time. I really hope this isn't a dying 970 since I just got it last June.
  13. Sometimes my PC starts emitting a mess of green pixels all over my screen at what appears to be randomly. This has happened once or twice in the past (once when I was playing a game in February and once again when I was just displaying my desktop). But as of recently it's been happening multiple times a day, where sometimes it will last 30 seconds to several minutes. I don't really know what causes it or why it happens (GPU?). Perhaps there's some kind of trouble shooting I can implement? I'm going to try using my on board graphics to see it still permits. For those who need to know, here are my specs: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/x94d8d
  14. I'll probably bring it into a place like you said in the last paragraph. Sounds like a simple job from the way you explained it. Thanks for the reply!
  15. One of the pins broken was IntA_P2_D- along with the bottom most vbus next to the No pin. I'm gonna guess that this is header is beyond repairing at this point, right? Is there any kind of third party replacements I can buy that could be another alternative?
