  1. Here's two simple solutions, although they do have significant flaws. They are recommended though. Hardware wise: contact Samsung, preferably at their store (or carrier of you have warranty) Software wise: back up your data, and factory reset your phone. (http://bit.ly/1BtV7n2) If you do not wish to do any of these, or don't have the time, there are other solutions, but may not be as effective as ones above. 1. Restart phone 2. Check network connectivity (How many bars you have and other end of the call) 3. Clear device cache (In settings, using a app such as Clean Master is NOT recommended, personally) 4. Close all apps Please note that the Galaxy S5 is a phone from 2014, and technology is gradually advancing rapidly than ever. Also not that the microphone on your phone is tiny, and the other end of the call may also have a bad speaker.
  2. https://www.ifixit.com/Store/Parts/Nexus-5-Motherboard/IF293-004-1 Pricing of Nexus 5 varies by location. Please note: Smartphones aren't computers yet. it's not easy replacing something even as simple as a camera, since it's so cramped into a small space, and that's why there's no components such as a fan. Only replace the motherbord if your an expert, or have excellent levels of patience. It's extremely risky, and that's why companies void the warranty if you take apart your phone. Nexus 5 is old, there are many flagship phone options from 2015 that work well, although they may fall behind depending on your usage. I'm just stating that although Nexus 5 is cheap, but it's not worth purchasing a 3 year old phone. Purchasing the latest smartphone will last longer than an outdated one. If you must have a phone that is the Nexus 5, I'd suggest searching for stores that sell it on a contract. Buying a Nexus 5 with a cracked screen or damage can cause problems if you were to accidentally damage it further. (We're humans, accidents happen)
  3. Contact your ISP or PC manufacturer?

    HDD Help

Try not to force your HDD at 100% usage then? You could also consider buying a SSD, significantly better in performance terms.
  5. Have you tried a factory reset, or willing to? That' the best option, in my opinion.
  6. These are some suggestions that may help: -Do full virus scan (its worth the time, do it overnight if you wish) -Delete unused programs, photos, etc to free up space -Lower resolution, even if its just slightly -Reinstall games from scratch -Try game boosters -Make sure your rig isn't too loud or hot, because it will throttle to prevent it from overheating and possibly damage -Close all unused programs such as Skype (Run Skype on your phone so it doesn't interfere with your computer) -Defrag -Keep only the game running and nothing else and finally if none of these work, you could always factory reset your device. If that doesn't work it may be a hardware issue and you'll need to bring it in a store that you trust.
  7. It's 2016, 4k is becoming the new standard. If manufacturers added 720p to their signature laptops, it would save a ton of battery, but would lose that crisp resolution that many desire. I get that 720p and 1080p can be indistinguishable sometimes, but 1080p was the standard before, and now 4k is rolling in to become the new standard. (Although 4k is a bit overkill) Battery technology desperately needs a update, but I doubt companies will give up resolution for battery. Besides, a lot of people keep their laptop plugged in most of the time, so battery doesn't matter to people that are near a wall jack all the time. Higher resolutions WILL drain more battery, but in the future, 720p will eventually become outdated.
  8. I'd personally stay away from clean master, mainly since it's not officially provided by Samsung. I also have the Galaxy S6, but I am satisfied with the Smart Manager App and clearing cache manually. I just don't trust those programs since they have a chance of interfering with system files accidentally, like Ccleaner. Also, I have noticed that the recent Android Marshmallow update for the S6 did introduce some bugs that are annoying, including google voice bugs and connection issues no matter where I was. Not sure if this applies to you since you live in US, and I live in Canada. Keeping the storage almost full is a bad idea, especially when your using a high-end phone with high-end specs. I'd delete unnecessary files such as photos and videos, or keep them backed up. Since there isn't a SD card slot, it can also be a problem depending on your usage of apps and such. Just note that keeping a good amount of free space provides room to make your phone fast and stay fast. Also, turning off power saving may help if you have it turned on. Just make sure to turn it back on since the battery is horrible on the S6 if your using it frequently. If none of these solutions work, back up your data, and factory reset your phone.
  9. Well, first of all, they're both old. It could either be a problem with your tablet, computer or both. My best recommendation is to factory reset both devices, but I doubt you'd want to do that. (It's the most efficient solution software wise, but it does delete everything). It could also be the cable. Throughout time I did notice that some cables work differently, especially when connecting. One possible solution that worked for me is making sure your tablet is connected to your computer by checking the notification menu on your tablet, and tapping it. Strangely it worked for me most of the times. If it doesn't work, simply just wait a couple of seconds, or possibly minutes. If however the problem still persists, I'd try using a different cable and see if that works.
  10. These USB cables that come with phones aren't as high-end as the adapters, mainly to save tons of money. (Especially companies like Apple where they make cheap stuff overpriced af) This actually did happen to me one day, and I attempted to fix it, but because it is cheap, I just bought another one. Not really worth the time or money to fix such cheap cables. Just make sure you don't buy them from places like the dollar store, because they're literally garbage.
  11. I'd contact Nova launcher if I were you (or browse "Material Design" theme), or try the Samsung Theme Store. Just a recommendation, since I use stock launchers so I don't lose features.
  12. Although Tedster did basically answer your question, I'll just add to his answer. The iPhone 6S does NOT have a microSD card, and recently Android allows microSD cards to act as additional storage, and not just for storing photos and videos. (It will not work on all updated devices though, unless you root which can be extremely risky and voids warranty) The smaller the storage, the slower the processor, because your device need space to run things smoothly. (Ex. Cache participates a huge impact to speed, although it can stack up really fast depending on your usage). If the processors small, your going to require a lot of free space, just to make sure to keep your device running at optimal speed. By the way, 3DS is designed for gaming, so it has to be fast, or nobody will want it. Phones are extremely fast today, and they are designed for gaming, but this only applies to mid-range and high-end phones. Low-end phones are basically just for basic tasks such as texting, calling, and possibly video streaming. Just note that smartphones and 3DS are a completely different category, although they'll probably use similar components.
  13. There's lot of reviews on YouTube, but not from popular channels like Linustechtips which have over 2 million subs. JBL is good company, but you'd need to physically hear it to see if it satisfies your audio needs. (Ex. You may not need the top of the line speaker because of a budget, but you may still want a top of the line speaker on your budget...if your willing to search for it) The reviews on it are 4.7 out of 5.0, which is near excellent, but I'm guessing this speaker wasn't made for the premium consumer since it is cheap. These days, cheap doesn't necessary mean always bad, but just cheaper materials such as plastic is used instead of premium materials such as metal. Basically, watch some reviews, try it out if you can, and then decide.
  14. There are many excellent tablets out there, although many call tablets a dying category. Nexus 7 is still the latest small tablet made from Google, and desperately requires an update. I'd suggest an upgrade IF you rely on any sort of graphic intensive tasks such as gaming or heavy mutlitasking.
  15. First of all, this is Mobile Gaming. Your in the wrong section. Secondly, I'd contact T-Mobile about it.
  16. Personally, I'd wait a year or two (maybe months) until smartwatches are truly "independent" and not just a companion to your smartphone. I see no major difference in the function of Huawei watch compared to other watches, the only notable difference is that it's luxurious. If you need a fitness tracker, you don't need a smartwatch. There are much cheaper options available, that are only around $100, while the watch is 5x as much. There is a reason smartwatch sales aren't as high as expected, it's because most of them don't do anything a smartphone can't do. Why waste hundreds of dollars on a smartwatch, when you already paid hundreds of dollars on your smartphone that have the same function? If you really want the watch though, I won't stop you, it's completely up to you. Just like smartphones, smartwatches have a short time period of around a year before a new generation comes out, resulting the old generation outdated. Unlike smartphones, smartwatches need little power to keep it running, so there's little need to buy a new smartwatch for it's hardware. Software side, smartwatches may fall behind due to the various smartwatches that exist today. I predict a smartwatch will last a little longer than a smartphone will usually last on a contract, around 3 years or possibly 4 years. This is just a mere prediction though. I see that you want a premium smartwatch, and the Huawei watch would be an excellent choice if you were to purchase it, but do note that the functions are limited, and your smartphone can do these functions. (Aside from functions like heart rate sensor, unless you own S5 or higher)
  17. My suggestion is simple, contact Samsung. I'm not saying Linustechtips is a bad place to seek help for these kinds, but it's not Samsung, and most of the people here aren't even employed here. Contacting the manufacturer is the best option in my opinion, especially if you have warranty. It can be a nuisance, but they know your phone better than anyone else, since they made it. (Contacting T-Mobile might also work, but Samsung may do the job faster because the carrier is not really involved)
  18. Note: This is just a highly recommended suggestion, I know little about hardware, but I'm just stating what might possibly be the best option. First of all, its a Note 2, which was released in 2012. Don't expect to be anywhere near durable as flagships today, since Gorilla Glass is was only at its 1st or 2nd generation around that time, but now in its 4th, and 5th should be coming soon. Secondly, since the phone is cracked, it might have damaged the internals. I see problems relating to these on torture testing videos all the time, although I never seen a screen effect like that (It looks cool btw). I personally think you should worry about purchasing a new phone rather than fixing your current phone, especially in a situation like this. It doesn't matter figuring out how it happened, I think its better to focus on having a phone that works. You currently have Note 2 in 2016, which is a 4 year old phone that is severely outdated in technology terms. I highly suggest you give up on this problem, as fixing it will be expensive, and most likely near impossible. Make sure to destroy your phone completely to prevent anyone from restoring the data (be safe though), and don't bother recycling it since nobody is going to want a destroyed phone, especially if it's outdated. I could suggest many options for a new phone, but first you need to tell me what you want a phone to have. (price, specs, camera, what year it came out, etc).
  19. It really depends on what you want a phone to have. For ex. If you want a good camera then go for the S7. There are other phones like the HTC 10, and LG G5 (if you don't mind plastic feeling metal). Just note that it's still only may, and a bunch of phones like the Note 6 will come around fall and winter.
  20. Oh, well I don't want anything on the cable besides simple remote controls since it will only be a nuisance. Thanks. I don't need a gaming headset, I just need something that will block out noise, like in a bus. I'll still consider this though, thanks.
  21. Seems nice I guess, how about any earphones with active noise cancelling? I don't really want to carry around headphones all the time.
  22. Probably active noise cancelling. I'm probably going to be in loud environments while using this, so I think it's best to save up more cash to buy a better one.
  23. I'm planning to buy a pair of noise cancelling headphones/earphones, because sometimes I just want to isolate the world completely. The problem is, I don't know if I should go for headphones or earphones. I want something that is cheap, but sounds great, portability, and possibly look premium too (if possible, if not I don't really care as long as it's not really cheap). Since I know little about audio, and there's so many headphones/earphones that I can buy, it's a difficult decision. Any recommendations? Note: I live in Canada by the way
  24. To be honest, my only suggestion is the iPhone SE. I doubt there are any phones that are the size of an iPhone 4 with the specs of a flagship out there. Many people have gotten used to screen sizes like 5 inches, and even bigger. So there isn't really a reason for a manufacturer to make the device smaller like the iPhone 4. Basically, the only flagship phone that I've heard of that is similar or identical to the size of a iPhone 4 is the iPhone SE.
  25. 1. Check what is running, some apps can slow down your device by a lot (especially if your phone isn't high-end) 2. Delete unused apps, cache, and photos/videos that you don't need on your device. 3. This phone is more of a mid-range phone, so you shouldn't expect gaming to be super smooth like flagships, lowering the resolution can help reduce/solve this problem. Closing other running apps, and having only the game can also fix this. 4. Close unused apps, having a lot of apps running at once even if they're not being used can slow down your device. 5. Restart your device, this is a simple solution to many problems like this. 6. If none of these solutions help, you could possibly factory reset your phone. If you don't want to delete everything, I'd highly recommend contacting Lenovo about this problem, or possibly your carrier. (Lenovo made your device, so they'll know your device much better) These are all the possible solutions I know right now, since I know nothing about Lenovo devices I'm just suggesting solutionst that are for Android in general.
