  1. I am currently in search of a 49” ultrawide so that I can essentially have two 27” monitors, without the extra cables and bulk. However, my original purchasing decision, the LG 49WL95C-W, is no longer available in Canada. My main use case will be productivity and graphic design, with some light gaming on the side. I have two systems that I will be using it with: a 16-inch MacBook Pro and a custom Windows PC (3700x and 2080ti). Currently, I can purchase the Dell for around $1,850 through their website, but their pricing always seems iffy. The G9 is only $150 more but I am concerned about text readability, colours, etc. Thanks in advance!
  2. I haven't read any reviews on the 1920x. How does it compare to the 3900x in gaming and productivity? Sorry if this is an unordinary question, but why is it significantly less expensive than the 3900x if it has more cores and performs better? I am interested in running two Samsung NVMe Pro SSDs in raid 1. Mind you, I could live without it.
  3. Thank you for the information, @Jurrunio and @Princess Luna. It appears I may have to rethink my build, and instead use an i9-9900k seeing as there are more motherboards compatible with it. (An added benefit is that it is on sale in Canada for $60 less than the 3900x.)
  4. Hi Everyone, I'm currently putting together an AMD Ryzen 3900x build and am planning to build it inside the Corsair 280x case. However, I can't seem to find any mATX motherboards with support for WiFi and two m.2 slots. I was wondering if more X570 motherboards are planning to be released before the end of the year, or if manufacturers aren't interested in making mATX boards for the third generation of Ryzen CPUs. It is also possible that I'm not looking in the right places. So far, I've searched NewEgg (Canada), Memory Express, and Amazon, but to no avail. If you have any recommendations or insights on the matter, please let me know. Thank you in advance, Mason K.
  5. I plan to replace my Surface Pro 3, which I use for school work, windows-specific tasks, Photoshop, Lightroom, and media consumption, with a new ultrabook. Unfortunately, my Surface is running quite slow as of late and the hardware has been less-than desirable the more I use it. My budget is $2500 Canadian, I would prefer a computer that is 3 pounds or less, and the screen size can be between 13 inches and 14 inches as I plan to use it as my ultraportable workstation/productivity machine. So far, I am considering the Dell XPS 13 and Surface Laptop 2. Thank you in advance, -Mason
  6. Okay, perfect then! I’ll switch to the 970 evo and save myself some money on this rather pricey build. Oh, and I didn’t realize coolers included thermal compound! Thank you for informing me of that fact. I appreciate the advice, and i’ll keep it in mind during the next few weeks while I await my parts. Thank you for the commendation - it means a lot, considering it is my first build. Luckily, I indeed have some cable tie cutters lying around so there’s no need to purchase any other tools.
  7. As of today, I finalized my first PC build, except for the storage solution(s) because I noticed prices are fluctuating for SSDs and HDDs. If you have any advice, feel free to send some advice my way. Oh, and I’m only considering the 970 pro because I’m told it delivers more consistent speeds, and boasts a longer lifespan. As for the remainder of my components, I’m completely settled on those, but I was wondering what thermal compound I should consider. I’m unaware of the differences that different grades of thermal paste can achieve for overclocking, and basic everyday performance if you have a good enough cooler. Finally, I’ve watched a myriad of building tutorials but besides a philips screwdriver and following those same guidelines, are there any other tips and tricks some of the PC-building veterans on this forum would recommend? 8. After reading everyone’s advice, I chose the Corsair RMX 650W. Also, I had originally chose that PSU with a much larger case, until I realized a mid-tower was a more feasible idea.
  9. Well, I’m a step closer to finally building my gaming/productivity PC. I’ve finalized most of the components except for the PSU as I’m unaware of how important they are, and what the certifications truly represent, if anything at all important to the overall performance. 10. Coincidentally, I already had that specific processor on my list, along with the specified storage drives and PSU. Thank you for the assistance! This appears to be a solid build for my needs. Do you have any suggestions for monitors?
  11. Two years ago, I had purchased a GTX 1070 for a PC build that I had planned. After returning two years later, I learned that the build was unfocused. My budget is $2000 (excluding the GPU), and I was hoping for some assistance in picking parts and peripherals for this productivity, video editing, gaming PC.
  12. Wondering if someone could please answer, as I was planning on ordering the parts this week.
  13. I think I'l just stick with the original monitors seeing I can't find any 1440p monitors for a good price and will just upgrade in the future when I save up more money.
