  1. Hello, i'm a freshman who just started my Comp Eng/Science degree with no prior coding background. Currently our group is tackling an assignment off left-field to make a Telegram bot using Python as a base, but we found out through testing that the bot is always single-instanced (even when used across multiple users.) We've programmed the bot to operate across several 'steps' but since the bot is currently single-instanced, it's shared across all users at the same time and this is... not how we envisioned the bot to work as we intended it to be used by many different users. How do we go about solving this issue? Is there a special API that we are required to incorporate in order to host the bot separately to individuals?

    Amp/DAC for incoming Sennheiser HD6xx under USD170

Thank you for all the replies, will definitely check it out, price point seems reasonable too I'm not sure if the serial number will be in order number, but you can find out your order placement from the transaction number in the checkout page. It starts from MD-30891-1447xxx Where the last 3 is your checkout number, or 8|9xxx if you are in the thousands
  3. As the title suggests, i'm currently using a FiiO E10 with a Sennheiser HD558. I managed to snipe a #38 HD6xx from massdrop during the initial blowout which will be arriving in December so i think an upgrade for my Amp is due since i doubt the E10s can drive 300Ohmz. I'm not very keen on dropping too much on the Amp/DAC upgrade though, preferably around the range of or under 170USD. I will also try to look for discounts during the Black Friday sales that are coming up. Do the audioheads here have any decent recommendations for a high cost/performance unit to drive the HD650 equivalent? Currently i'm looking at the Littledot MKii but it is an Amp-only unit with no DAC. I'm not sure if i really need a DAC as my motherboard is currently an RoG Maximus VIII Impact, so both Amp+DAC combos or purely good Amps are fine if a DAC is not required in my case
  4. Managed to get in transaction order #87 for the 5000 units of Sennheiser HD6XX that sold out in less than 2 hours while everyone else was having checkout issues.

    Hoping to land a dank serialised unit like 42, 69, 88, 100 or 420

    What amazing luck :D

What if you got 1000? Or 1001? :P

      FloRolf

@TheRandomness impossible because first 500 Buyers are guranteed a serial number under 550 ;)

I will probably get them next drop. And @Katsunaka you are an awesome friend to have!

@FloRolf This friend is very very deserving. He helped me through a very rough time. This is nothing compared to what he helped me with.

  5. Erm, as long as the employees kept the photos among themselves I don't see how this is an issue? Rating girls seems like a very 'just guys being guy's thing to do and whoever (the colleague) sold them out was probably just being a pissy brat. Edit: Nevermind, seems like the offenders did indeed distribute the photos publicly which is an open breach of privacy

Open back headphones for positional gaming audio

Grab a sennheiser HD558/559 along with a cheap Zalman MIC-1. Audiotechnicas have a bassy sound signature in general and I find the clear highs of sennheiser to be more accurate for isolated sounds. (Instruments, snares, footsteps)
  7. I agree with this decision. If I buy a car with my own purchasing power then it better damn well put me, the owner in priority. I don't put too much weight on lives that don't concern me directly unfortunately, when a situation like this ever happens (doubt it, too unlikely, computers are getting faster by the second) you would resonate my words if you were the driver. Nobody I met has been heroic enough to willingly offer his lifefor 3 others, yet.

    1070 or used 980?

Why do people think the 1070 will drop in price? The MSRP of aftermarket cards are already a fact, an EVGA SC+ has an MSRP 420 and their FTW+ has an MSRP of 440. The FE, 449. None of the cards will be touching 379. As long as everybody else is still buying the 1070 at its current price there will be no price drops anytime. When the price of the 1070 does indeed drop it's probably already time to look at other better options which will be out. Either grab a 1070 now or look at cheaper (980ti or lower) options. For example a brand new 980ti for $390 or less would be cheap since its 10% less pricey yet performs within ±5%. In that regard a 980 for 300 is a solid buy as well.

    Help with shopping in Amazon

Tell your relatives to remove all packaging from the laptop in order to make it look used when they return from abroad. Not sure about the Philippines but Singapore charges a 7% goods and service tax for any singular imported item (even when hand-carried) valued above 400SGD, if it's just a laptop they 'brought overseas' then no problems with that

    980ti upgrade

Pretty sure a 980ti running at 1450Mhz or higher runs toe to toe, or even faster than a 1070 that has been OC'd to 2050Mhz which is the soft cap for Pascal GPUs. The 1070 has been marketed well, but the truth shows otherwise. The reason for this is because the Pascal architecture scales poorly, a 1700 > 2000 overclock will barely give you 1-3 FPS more compared to stock. http://www.overclock.net/t/1601896/overclockersclub-overclock-showdown-gtx-980ti-vs-gtx-1070-vs-gtx-1080

    Console Vs PC essay

For my personal stand on this matter, i'd say there is just about absolute NO good reason to purchase a console over a PC. The fact is, low cost PCs nowadays running GPU-optimised setups or APUs can perform equally if not better in games compared to a console. A PC also functions as a platform where you can do work, surf the net, download music, participate in forum communities, discuss about porn and more, whereas Consoles are more or less strictly limited to games. Even for the argument for 'family friendly' and 'couch gaming' is completely invalid in 2016, because there is nothing stopping you from using something like Chromecast to mirror your digital output onto your TV, and you can plug in any matter of wireless controllers as you desire to use on your couch or bed provided you have the appropriate slots on your computer - which can be solved by using expansion hubs anyway. For those that talk about console exclusive games - use your brain for a second, how many games are there on a PC that are not available on a console? You can also use a PC to run virtual machines or emulators. Games also cost an exorbitant amount on consoles, you have to pay to use the internet [PSN,Xbox Live] and pay full price upwards of 40-80USD nowadays for AAA titles. On the other hand, the PC platform is no stranger to insane sales - most notably Steam, at multiple times throughout the year. Piracy is of course an option for both platforms, but that requires you to burn the image onto a disc for consoles - oh, and you probably need a PC to download said pirated product in the first place anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I haven't even brushed on the done-to-death topic of performance on PC vs Consoles because it is strictly not needed. PC wins hands down, it is also a modular platform that you can choose to upgrade at any time to suit your needs, whereas consoles are one-dimensional and once they feel incapable you need a complete replacement. To be fair, Sony and Microsoft do go to a great length to ensure that newly released games will run on these dated hardware. Look at games like Watch Dogs for example, severely downgraded from it's original graphical fidelity in order to make it accessible to the Playstation 4 at acceptable performance. As for ease of use, is a console that much easier than a PC? While i agree that initially setting up a PC may be a daunting task for the less-able, once everything is up and running you literally 1) Press the Power button on your case 2) Wait 3) Double Click/Search whatever game you desire and run it You don't even have to build a PC yourself, you can head down to your local BestBuy or something and grab a computer that already has everything fitted together and Windows installed. Hence i don't see any argument for 'ease of use' either. Did i miss out anything?
