The Slim Machine - 5 liter custom console/HTPC case build
sl06bhytmar replied to ccRicers's topic in Build Logs
You're getting there! -
Then select in page 27" without freesync ($300, 1080p) or 24" ($200, 1080p) I personally wouldn't buy fullHD displays anymore.

I will not play by the rules: https://www.amazon.com/AOC-AG271QX-Gaming-Monitor-144hz/dp/B01G5JYN0C Of course you can opt out from freesync also, but in long run I think it will be better.

Questions about radiors, sorry I'm a noob
sl06bhytmar replied to bboy_leogun's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
Absolutely no room for even slim fans? Scythe slipstreams are 12mm thick, akasa has 15mm thick fans and i think cryorig has 13mm thick models. -
Asus GTX 1080 Ti Turbo and AIO ghetto
sl06bhytmar replied to sl06bhytmar's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
Alright, a week later we have results! Solid under 60C GPU temps with load. Hardware inside... 20 litres case, completely stocked up (well one hard drive is broken,so it is not inside anymore). Died after 65.000 hours of service First had to modify GPU bracket a bit so I can use stock memory & vrm cooling plate Fits perfectly! Dremeling is so much fun! Pump&block assembly Decided that broken off fitting was too risky, so used 90 degree angled ones and test fitted if they still fit with fan shroud Leak testing Filling system as I get air bubbles out of rads And put it together $700 card ghetto cooled. Linus would be proud!- 4 replies

Doing it atm because gpu bracket is interfering with vrm & memory cooling, also broke the fitting again- 4 replies

So I have ghetto AIO diy custom loop, put together mostly from "dumpster" items and this time to sacrifice a 700€ graphics card. From previous system: Old GPU: Inno3D GTX 770 4GB (died when leak shorted it), Gig(g)abyte GTX 770 2GB (still alive) Questionable ghetto fixes: Superglued asetek fitting, 90 degree adapters in reservoir need teflon tape, a ton of it (wrong orientation), 90 degree plastic barb fittings melted and tightened over radiator metal barbs. Leak danger: In god we trust Pictures to follow soon...

I have to agree, I think the Maingear probably is the worst. Didn't like the color or how things were put inside. Tacky.

dtx Lets try get Asus to do AM4 M-DTX motherboard!

Changing the bracket is pretty simple without DVI connector. -

sl06bhytmar replied to sl06bhytmar's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
That is about full ATX size case, just about 5.5 PCI slots. Probs for moving away old 3.5" bays and using 5.25" area for PSU. But still not ideal. GTX 1080 Ti was released without that nasty big DVI connector. And I haven't been going trough old threads for long time, I have known existence of M-DTX about 7-8 years now and moved to M-ITX motherboard because no M-DTX motherboards were available back in 2011 for Sandy Bridge. I know M-ITX has only a small share on the market but most M-ITX cases actually are M-DTX cases already. Yeah I know it would be only a gimmick on the market at the moment but there might come again a time when 1 slotted graphics card make comeback with decent gaming performance. Edit: Also it doesn't add much cost to motherboard to use two PCI-E slots but gives a bit more room for engineers to layout connectors and components. -

Most ITX cases are actually DTX cases... And most mATX cases are humongous with too many HDD slots. -

Kinda meaned m-DTX but character limit -
I threw the first stone, join me to get the next ultimate SFF-build motherboard Imagine it... AM4 Ryzen, dual GTX 1080 Ti in liquid cooling loop, m.2 nvme SSD. Edit: Cause not many have found ever M-DTX form factor here is quick explanation picture: also most cases already support it! If there are two PCI slots angled it will support but motherboards but cases that rely on riser cable or card then it might not be supported (like it won't fit into Dan cases A4-SFX)
