  1. Hi, I own this MacBook A1278, the 2.4 GHz variant. The logic board number is 820-2327-A Now to the problem. It won’t detect any batteries. The level indicator doesn’t show anything. Charger connector turns amber after plugging in the battery. Also, when testing with ASD EFI, the battery passes every test except temperature reading, which is too high, over the limit. ASD OS can’t even read that sensor. In system profiler, the battery doesn’t show up at all. In ASD OS the log reads following: [01/01/01 00:40:06] Temp (TB3T) - Battery temperature (test #1) - Sensor Reads Within Operating Range - Check to ensure that sensor reads within operating range. [00:40:06] ERROR -- 1 [Unable to read sensor] -- (-1.00) TEST FAILED Another problem with this machine is, that when I push the power button, the screen powers on, as does the hard drive, but nothing happens. After maybe 10-15, depending on the environment, the mac gets warm, and then powers on just fine. When I reboot it, or just briefly unplug the power cable, it turns on straight away. When I let it cool down a bit, it take some time again for the mac to heat up and turn on. When I tried powering the mac on with SMC bypass, the fan ramped up to max RPM as it should, but it never turned on. PPBUS_G3H reads 12.35V instead of 12.6V, even when the machine is on. I also didn’t find any shorts on this line.
  2. Oh okay, thanks for the explanation about the GPU! My knowledge of these early aluminum machines is quite limited. I tried the SMC bypass and the same thing happened, except now the fan is running at full speed but the screen is still black and the mac won't turn on at all. Sadly, the backlit keyboard was already swapped out by someone for the regular one from the lower spec version. Yes. the battery is now removed from the machine and sitting here on my desk. I tried both leaving the battery in and leaving it out but nothing changed. The battery is completely dead, macOS won't even show charge cycles etc. so maybe that might be the cause? It's weird that the controller in the battery seems to be also dead. Maybe the Mac waits a bit for the PRAM battery to charge and then POSTs? The other issue with leaving the battery out is that i can't open the MacBook with one hand only.
  3. I thought that the Nvidia GeForce 9400M was dedicated chip, since C2D doesn't have an integrated graphics. I know about the issues, since I still use my 15" 2011 MBPro with dedicated graphics bypass. How can i bypass the SMC? I already tried the apple ASD OS and passed every single test except two related to graphics. I can post the results tomorrow. By the way, the PRAM Super cap seems to keep its voltage right around 1.16V, so maybe the problem really is the missing main battery.
  4. Hey everyone, I recently started having this weird problem with my late 2008 MacBook. First of all, I want to say, that the battery is completely dead and it doesn't change anything if i leave it in the Mac or if i just use it without the battery. So, now to the problem. After powering this machine on, either HDD spins up or the SATA SSD i'm using turns on. At this stage the machine does nothing. The drive stays on, the front white LED wont turn on, the DVD drive wouldn't spin, nothing. But if I leave the machine in this state for maybe 5-10 minutes, it randomly to POSTs. Just out of nowhere the chime plays and machine boots normally. The issue arises, if the machine stays off for some time. If i reboot it, or power it off, then on again, it POSTs right away. I tried leaving it on charger overnight, but in the morning the same happened again. I know these machines had problems with the graphic chips, but I didn't notice anything with this one. The OS has full graphics acceleration, the machine doesn't overheat more than usual, no graphic glitches, nothing. Is there any solution to this? I thought it might be some electrical problem like bad cap that doesn't charge properly, but the board looks good aside from one 3,3V coil having it's plastic package cracked. I already tried NVRAM and PRAM reset, but that seemed to be only temporary fix. Here is the machine config MacBook 5,1 (13", Late 2008 Aluminum Unibody) CPU - Core 2 Duo P8600 RAM - 4GB DDR3 1066MHz OS - macOS 10.11 Thanks for all the help.
  5. Hi, I've bought a Dell Precision 690 Workstation yesterday in a rather sorry state. I've managed to clean it and even the sockets don't have any bent pins, but I've noticed that it's missing its PSU. I've talked to the seller a he didn't find it. Now to my question Can anyone provide me with pinout of both the 24 and the 20 pin connectors? I just want to test the board before i spend money on the kW unit. Another thing I noticed is, that the case has both of the extenders... are the colors on the extenders matching standard non Dell PSU colors? If they were, then I could pin the PSU according to Dell, but after my past experiences with Dells, I'm not so sure about the colors matching. I've googled, but didn't manage to find much except one thread here on LTT showing pinout for different Dell PSU. Thanks for all the replies.
  6. There actually is a dark mode option for explorer. At least in build 1809. It isn't perfect though... also not quite sure what youtube is up to... xd

  11. Tried cracked version but this didn't really solve the graphics card problem because this needs to be run as administrator and I can't use switcher
  12. Hello guys, I have a problem running GTA IV on Windows 10. When I launch the game from Steam it starts normally, I log into Rockstar Social but when i start the game Windows Live (Multiplayer) doesn't show up and it won't detect my Nvidia card (even when i select run with Nvidia graphics) I really want to play it on my laptop but I'm really lost in this, i've tried several fixes, mods for fixing and even removing Windows live, reinstalling and updating Windows Live from Microsoft site but nothing works also tried several fixes, parametres and other stuff for detecting my graphics card. I dont now what else can i do for it. is it even possible to run this game on Windows 10? Thanks for every reply
