  1. has anyone tried any of the windows 10 spying disable software? does it work? does it make your system unstable in any way? i saw this program and was going to try it but would be good to hear if anyone had any thoughts or experiences before i did it. http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/win10_spy_disabler.html TIA!
  2. thanks found it on amazon for $20, im sure its $50 here in Hawaii
  3. there is a 50% off deal at dell refurbs http://dellrefurbished.com/product/systems/desktops/cat61198/dell-optiplex-990-2gb-ram-250gb-hdd/si6816683 use code slickdeal50p, i bought this system a few weeks ago and added a few addons, i have pics and info on what i did with this system http://slickdeals.net/f/8522627-dell-refurbished-store-50-additional-off-storewide-free-shipping?page=4#commentsBox my post is #60 thats if you want to get a used system. its $170 +tax if you qualify for free shipping. its a decent gaming system with what i put into it , im sure it would be a good office pc without the add-ons, for 430 you could buy 2 and upgrade the ram i know you didnt want to change your system but this could save you some cash and you dont have to buy a OS
  4. linus did a reference to this site in one of his videos, might help a little http://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator
  5. what is the tester called that luke used to test the power draw, im looking to get one, my son has a 725 sentey PSU which has no 80+ rating but had good reviews for $45, im wondering how much power is that psu wasting if any, considering he only has a 660ti with and i5-6400, im already paying over $300 USD a month for electric(the price i have to pay for living in this so-called paradise called Hawaii)
  6. for $50 i would just buy it, if not to upgrade but to sell for much more than $50, thats money in the bank! unless you have to trade your i5 plus the $50
  7. well if you do decide to get the card, i hope it works well for what you are buying it for, Happy Gaming! and btw my son took the 660ti(i5 @3.2 ghz, 8 gb ram) and my other son took my 750ti(a8-6600, 8gb ram) to play GTA V and they can play on high settings with no problems,
  8. this video should give you an idea what your gameplay might be like http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/compare.php?cmp[]=2155&cmp[]=33 it all comes down to what you think, $50 for now or another $100+ more in a few months when GTA VI comes out? LOL, JK, at least you have a PSU that is a good start if ever you decide to build another system. im not really a gamer but have bought a gts 450, a 660ti, 750ti and a 4gb 960, in the span of 2 years, like i said it comes down to what type of gaming and details you want for the price you are willng to pay. but to answer your question i would personally go for a 750 ti for a $100 so i wouldn't buy that 650.
  9. what are the rest of your specs? a 650 would be able to run GTA V, but for about $90 you could get a 750ti on amazon or even for $10-$15 more you could get a 560 ti or a 650 ti http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/compare.php?cmp[]=2177&cmp[]=18&cmp[]=2155 but if you are satisfied with playing gta V at low settings it should be ok. the gtx 650 is a low power draw card so you probably wont have to upgrade your psu, just make sure if you are buying a used card or even a card from an not well known manufacturer(china brand) the card might not last long and u will end up buying another one when you could have got a better one at $100 that has a warranty and will play other games at higher settings. sorry for the long reply but i like to be more informative with my replies if possible because i was in the same situation before and got burned by ebay sellers many times because i was trying to budget.
  10. np, i got a 4gb gtx 960 for $170 and a 2 tb sshd for $70, i check that site on a daily basis and buy parts to build systems. hope you find a good deal.:)
  11. check amazon warehouse deals, the "used" name sometimes is just because of damaged packaging, you could probably get a better card than the r7 370 for that price range, right now they have the r7 370 for $120 and a gtx 950 for about the same and that HD for $34
  12. one last edit, i forgot that the offline version is a torrent file so you will need bittorent, utorrent or another type of torrent software installed to get the software and daemon tools to mount the software or winrar to decompress the file
  13. did you download the online or offline version? the offline version is 10.2 gb and can be transferred via usb drive to the other computer, do you have an ethernet cable connection so you can download it directly? sorry i can't help much more , hope someone can help more on this matter, its 3 am here and i got work at 6 , good luck on your search.
  14. yea sorry i kinda understand what you were getting at with your question. what this software does is scan the system and gets the drivers for your hardware, have you tried installing it on the pc you need drivers for? is there a way to transfer the software via usb drive, cd-r? the one thing if you don't mind me asking, is why did you decide on vista? vista has been known to have bad driver compatibility. anyway, if you can find out the specific model number of the wifi card sometimes there are alternate drivers that can be used.
  15. i remember back in the day of 486 and 586 cpus always trying to get that extra power just for the sake of doing it, back then though it was easy to go and just return it and say something "happened" and get a refund with pretty much no questions asked. now almost everyone has tried overclocking with mixed results and i think its more to protect the companies because overclocking is a "at your own risk thing" even though many of them say its ok. i still have a few burned out chips lying around in storage to remind me i don't need that extra juice.
  16. 4.5 stars out of 2600+ reviews, it can't be that bad. i like my 2tb sshd seagate , seems faster and for the price i paid it was an awesome deal.
  17. have you tried Driver pack solution? https://drp.su/index.htm so far it hasnt let me down, though it does try to install software updates that i don't want or need but i just make sure i click the drivers only and it has seem to work everytime regardless of what system is on the system. i recently did a hp s7600n install of windows 8 and it found all the drivers even though HP said there were no compatible drivers other than xp
  18. http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00B99JUBQ/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=used Amazon warehouse deals sometimes have great deals on new items with damaged packaging, this is a decent deal , i recently bought these from them and with amazons return policy its worth to take the chance in my opinion. its first come first served so hope whoever needs a drive gets in on this deal, btw both were brand new with some box damage. 19. http://www.samsclub.com/sams/upstar-m280a1-28in-monitor/prod18580633.ip more info on this product, not sure if i would buy but its a decent price
  20. as an purchaser of almost every game system since the atari 2600 including the old pong system back in the 80's even a 3DO and the philips CD-i(what was i thinking?), i hope that the game developers start releasing games for the PC the same time as consoles, but as we all know certain games drive hardware sales, so i guess i will still have that internal struggle to decide to get a ps4(i have 2 xb1's) just to play uncharted. btw i also own a full set of hyperspin which gets me my fix on old console games, without having to hook the old systems up
