  1. Check my latest edit. I'm going to try rewire in the morning. Is it possible that I've damaged my CPU?
  2. Just built my first PC. Before bothering with cable management, I decided to check if everything is working. Plug in... ...LED on network card, case and motherboard audio illumination working. GPU not spinning, all other fans working, No video output from mobo or card. RGB keyboard and mouse light up when plugged in. After reading online, I saw that changing RAM slots helped. Did that, without turning off my PSU, because I'm a moron. Nothing. Switch back to old slots... Nothing. Cue depression and extreme panic. I worked 6 hours on building this, and used a whole year's savings (I'm 14), and it's 2am here. Thoughts? EDIT: Somehow, I'm back to my old situation of no POST or beep. Better than nothing, hey. EDIT2: Now i'm intermittently turning on and off, and the GPU spins a little bit every now and then.
  3. @Freezanator The BitFenix Aurora is a newer case, so I can't find any solid reviews yet. The built in LED controller is great and it seems to be worth its price. I had the Obsidian 450D in mind, but this is 40 dollars cheaper. Thoughts?
  4. M9i doesn't seem to be available at the two stores I'm buying from and seems hard to find in Australia. I'll probably go with the 212X or stick with the T4.
  5. And what are the differences between the 212x and evo?
  6. Should I bump up to a 212x or 212 evo or stick with it? It's an extra ten dollars, but if it future-proofs me, wondeful.
  7. @Freezanator I want a neutral colored motherboard, and overclocking isn't my priority - I don't plan to do so for a year. Also, I forgot to include the WLAN card in the part list, grabbing the ASUS PCE-AC88U as there's a rebate going on down here. @aries757 This is a AUD1250 build, though (excluding OS and SSD). Downgrading the SSD isn't an option for me as I received it for free from my uncle. @Mi26 As I already have the GPU and CPU, I can't change them, and the RX 470 is slightly more expensive. How does the CPU cooler look? Should the one intake and outtake fan be sufficient? Thanks guys =D
  8. Intended Build Use I intend to program quite a bit, using software such as Visual Studio, IntelliJ Idea, Android Studio and Atom. I also have quite a lot of RAM-eating Chrome extensions which I use on a day-to-day basis. As a student, I do rely quite a bit on the Office suite, and as someone who 3D prints stuff for school projects and is a competitor in the F1inSchools project, I often use Autodesk Inventor and slicing software, although I don't need maximum performance. I also plan to run some virtual machines for the purpose of running Linux and scambaiting. :))) I do plan to have a dual monitor setup, although I don't plan to game on both monitors. I want to be able to run CS:GO on max at 1080p at 60+ fps (no point going over as my monitor is only 60Hz), while recording on Shadowplay, something I'm sure the 1050Ti should be able to handle. I may purchase Overwatch later. I also want to be able to run Flight Simulator X on max. Purchasing and budget I already have received the CPU and GPU from Amazon, and my uncle shipped me the SSD for free as well as a VLK for Windows 10, so I've got those covered. I'm getting my case (and maybe some LED lighting) from Mwave in Australia, and the remainder of my parts from MSY. My budget for the parts I don't yet have is $800. About 6+ USB connectors RAM: Should I stick with 16GB or go down to 8? Monitor setup: Currently one 1920x1080, might get a second monitor soon, or even go 1440p/2160p My GPU dilemma: I'm going to go with one of three choices: - Upgrade to an i7-6700 and go with a 4GB GTX 960 - Stick with the i5-6600 and go with a 4GB GTX 970 - Stick with the i5-6600 and go with a 4GB GTX 960 I'm most likely going to lean towards the first option. Thoughts? PSU: Should I stick with the 550W PSU for future builds or grab a 420W to get $40 back? Besides the above costs, the only potential additional costs I see are lighting. I've already got access to a Windows 10 Pro license key. Overall, are these parts first-timer friendly? Leave your thoughts below. Thanks!
