  1. The product key would have been an OEM key. OEM keys are tied to that specific computer, and more specifically the motherboard. Can't use that Windows key with a motherboard other than the original.
  2. The phanteks mini itx case I looked up said it only supported up to 240mm radiator. You'll want the H100i if that's the case for yours.
  3. A few universities around here have development style degree programs through their schools of business rather than science. Usually a slightly lower math requirement. Just something to maybe look for.
  4. If the problem persists without the graphics card then it probably rules that out. Can't say I've seen anything like this before caused by something other than a bad GPU. Let us know if you track the problem down.
  5. Put my vote for the SSD. Prioritize that before the power supply imho.
  6. Do you have another known good graphics card to try out?

    CPU Cooler

At that price you're locked into air. I've used and had good luck with Coolermaster and Arctic Cooling coolers.
  8. In our area here in the states there aren't data caps (Time Warner). I would be furious if they tried. I cannot imagine a world where there would be any improvement to the service with a data cap. The infrastructure exists as is, and most of the actual connections take place outside of the direct control of your ISP. Where I am right now I'm off my ISP's network and onto AT&T and other peering partners within 4-5 hops. I've always viewed a data cap implementation as a way for service providers to attempt to put off infrastructure upgrades in an effort to milk every last bit of cash out of aging hardware. Maybe I'm wrong, but it'd take a really great argument to change my opinion on the matter.
  9. One thing to consider is that the Windows license is likely an OEM which means it's tied to that motherboard. You may have issues performing this upgrade without purchasing a new Windows license. That being said a few questions. Does the motherboard only support 8gb or was that the highest that was offered? You'd essentially be rebuilding the computer by changing motherboards. Check out some system builds on YouTube. With a little mechanical aptitude and perseverance you should be good to go.
  10. I agree with @ThomasD, when I was looking at the CFM ratings from Noctua there was very little difference between their static pressure optimized fans and their air-flow optimized fans. That's just one example, but I have to believe it's a similar case with other manufacturers.
  11. Looks great, and for a great price! Thanks for sharing
  12. Java won't go anywhere for quite some time. Google uses it, and if memory serves Twitter is utilizing it as well. Those are just some examples. Someone once told me that if you were a large company you were probably using Java, and if you were a smaller to mid-sized company you were most likely using .Net. Ymmv. < just ask Duke, Java will be around for a while!
  13. Off the top of my head I'd think using a tree map, the position could be used as the key value. Sort by the random number. It'd be out of order, but the key value would keep track of the order they were in.
  14. Both an SSD and updated graphics card would improve it. Could probably stand some more RAM too. Anything else really would require a new motherboard.
  15. I've tried to use InelliJ, but I just can't make the switch from Netbeans. Maybe it has something to do with the nice convenience "processrequest" method that Netbeans creates in servlets. I don't know. As a student you can get a student account from Jetbrains that gives you the full IntelliJ, PyCharm, the works. Check it out and see for yourself!
  16. Watched the video before I bought the cooler. Wasn't a fan placement question so much as a question of how to handle the power connections. I had actually decided on trying 4 fans because of that video, but in this thread I learned mixing fans isn't a good idea. I don't have a welcome, so I'm not entirely sure where you see it . Your time is appreciated though.
  17. Hey folks, I've been scouring forums for a bit now and I've not yet come across an answer to my question, so here's hoping someone here maybe has a similar setup. I purchased an H100i and two Noctua fans with the intention of doing a push/pull setup with the stock fans on top, and the Noctua fans on the bottom. My question is where are folks plugging their fans in with this setup since the cooler itself only has two fan headers coming off of it? Would I just be better off sticking the Noctua fans on the in a pull setup and ditching the idea of 4 fans? Thanks guys, I really appreciate your time
  18. It would essentially work the same raising it to a power to simulate a square root.
  19. Maybe YouTube? I can't think of many free resources. Head First Java is usually less than $30 USD. I'd definitely recommend that as a starting point.
  20. If you like books, Head First Java is a good one, or Starting Out With Java: Early Objects is the one I used. Both good reads with a lot of good examples to follow.
  21. Try reinstalling completely? Maybe try Xampp for the sake of simplicity? I wish I could offer more assistance, but I've always used Xampp for local development, and there's essentially zero setup/config to be done. https://www.apachefriends.org/download.html
  22. Check to make sure random devices aren't set to be able to wake it. Network maybe? Could also just change the power button to function as a sleep button. Just hit it when you walk away.
