  1. Hey all, I remember a video LTT had about their ingestion of videos and stuff from ssds and other media. They had a table for it right outside the server room. Does anyone know which video that was? Thanks in advanced for your time.
  2. Thanks a bunch all, Especially you Minibois, Helped me understand things, I wasn't aware of all these other channels, I wonder if it wouldn't be better to just combine some/all of them.
  3. So, I'm kinda new to the linus stuff, I've seen videos for a long time but only recently became a daily watcher, and an active member of the forums, but, I really don't know much about them beyond whats in the videos, What is Linus Media Group all about? How do they make money? Are they a separate entity to Linus Tech Tips? I'm mostly curious because Linus seems to be very busy often, but he has at least like, 7 or more people working under him.
  4. Wouldn't sponsoring require your build to somehow include a part of someone else's product or some such? Maybe a built in sound system or something, I'm not sure how else to get it sponsored. If ya can though, go for it. Afterthought: I guess theres materials and such too.
  5. Couldn't you just piggyback on the old hooks and filter out any that arn't from the original poster? At worst this would only cause about as much work as the normal follow.
  6. haha, I like my massive keyboard, I have a roccat ryos mk pro with cherry brown switches, it has this huge tray on it that makes it so comfortable to type, and I can type anywhere thanks to it, in bed, etc.
  7. By the way, how do you plan to finish the wood? Will you paint the surface? Maybe white top black edge? or vice-versa? I currently have a desk with stained top and and a black edge, and it looks really sleek.
  8. Summary: The ability to get notifications only when the original poster updates or adds new content. Examples: This is useful for things such as continuing build logs Or for example, that Apacer contest, I am following it, just to see when t hey update it and, I end up filling my notifications with other people's entries.
  9. Man you're having tons of trouble with this weather, the funny thing is, rain and dew would be worse, so while it seems counter-intuitive to do it now, its actually better than like, summer. x3
  10. I'm wearing my siberia steel series right now, they are pretty comfortable but i can only wear them for about 6 or so hours, but this is way better than my Turtle Beach Z300's, which last an hour or two tops. My current favorite headset is my logitech G930's, which I can wear like, ALL day, no joke, comfiest headset I've ever had, they are around ear, the only headset that has actually fit my big-arse ears, and VERY quiet. Sadly I've had issues with them because of the wireless, signal cutting out and stuff, they are second hand though so I can't comment on them properly. But there IS a wired version without all the fancy stuff like macros and what not on it. I will be buying this or maybe a newer wired version in the future. Logitech seems to be slowly but surely taking over my desktop I have so many peripherals from them.
  11. If you want a good headset that you can wear for a few hours and match your set, Check out Siberia Steelseries, I have v2's and love em, I think each version has a different sound to them so you'll want to research into that to find the one you want. Also thanks for the link, I think this is just what my case needed to give it some more life. I have a huuuuge window, and its all dark in there. And dude, everyone uses pcpartpicker, its silly not to. I wouldn't expect anyone to keep up with all the constant new parts. I'm just amazed at how many similar pieces you found and how well they all match a single style. For my pc I chose performance first but I was always looking for the same colors.... but I stopped at colors really, so in comparison my rig is just boring to this beast, yours is like, I almost wanna say modern art.
  12. This looks amazing, I'm kinda jealous. How did you go about picking out parts? I think next time i build a pc, i'll build it around a GPU, since the styles are so nuts and varied. Also, Is that custom lighting or did you purchase it? I'd love to get that for my case, Link please?
  13. I'll be looking forward to more of this, I've been considering making my own desk as of late.
  14. So I think everyone should definitely be running with an SSD, for multiple reasons. My biggest reason is, if computers would turn on faster, maybe people would shut their computers off more often, lets face it, most people don't, if everyone did that would be a lot of power saved over all those. My other reason is reliability, I have had several HDD's fail in my family's pc's, and we have lost lots of family photos because of it, I'm more knowledgeable now, and have things setup differently, raids, backups, etc, but really not once has an SSD ever caused me an issue. Also shout-out to Apacer, They solved a problem for me with one of their newer products.my case, the Cooler Master Storm Stryker, has a built in SSD hot-swap bay, but I could never really use it for anything, all my backups are run over ethernet to my usb HDD connected to my router, but I checked out the Apacer AS720 that was shown on linus video, I'm totally siked to get it one of these days, Now I can just throw it in, get the full use of that bay, and be able to take the drive with my laptop. Afterthought: Can I have both hooked up at the same time? Can I use this to transfer files through the SSD from my pc to my laptop? as in can both sides be plugged in at once? Silly thought I know but it amused me none the less! Edit: Hah, this turned into more of a geek-out than an entry for the contest, I had to think what I would use it for if I won afterwards, If I won this, I would most likely use it in either my laptop to replace the HDD in it, because moving parts just should NOT be in a laptop. Or I would throw it in my mother's old pc and use the thing as a server so i can practice, I'm working to become a web developer. Or my best bet, I might put it in my mother's current PC, I dunno, I'll figure it out then!
