My Windows 11 Pro Product Key was purchased directly through the Microsoft Store in April 2023. Today I decided to update my BIOS because it had been more than 2 years since the last time. After updating I couldn't log in to Windows using my PIN and was prompted to log in using my Microsoft Account. After using my computer for a few minutes I got the watermark on my screen. I tried clicking the "I changed hardware recently" button, but it did not work for me. I also called Microsoft Support and immediately told them all I did, but the representative still had me go through all the steps again. They also sent me an email to perform the following commands on the command prompt: slmgr.vbs /dlv slmgr.vbs /upk slmgr.vbs /cpky slmgr.vbs /ipk slmgr.vbs /ato But all that did was delete any history of the product key from my computer. At this point, the representative informed me that I was going to be transferred to tier 2. When the new person got through, I briefed him on the current situation and he apologized and ended the call.

Scrapyard Wars Overclocking Battle Hello, I am a Computer Engineering student at University of Puerto Rico Mayagüez Campus and I have a simple idea for an installment of Scrapyard Wars. The concept is an overclocking battle using old/used hardware and featuring experienced extreme overclockers. You would be able to do hardmods and softmods to any component as long as you just use an air cooler or an all in one cooler. The winning team would be determined by the percentage of performance gained by overclocking the system. Of course this is just an idea and I give LMG and its staff full liberty to use it in any way they see fit. -
I think that a big-beefy air-cooler would be a better choice for the CPU, especially considering you're building 16 computers. Maybe high refresh rate monitors would be a good idea since this is about gaming and not productivity; heck since you mentioned streaming 1440p would be a nice resolution to have.

As a college student I left my parents house to pursue my dream of becoming a computer engineer, but since I'm the only one in my family who knows how to deal with electronics and I can't visit them often I get an unreasonable amount of phone calls asking to diagnose networking issues. This is where the On-hub Wireless Router from Google and TP-LINK comes in. With this new gadget I will be able to diagnose and resolve issues even when I'm out of the city. No more of those long and tedious phone calls, I finally think I found the one object that will bring peace not only to my dear parents, but also to the cell towers with absurd amount of talk time. Reversing PSU airflow? (From outside to the inside of a case)
rockero_8727 replied to rockero_8727's topic in Power Supplies
Alright, it has been 6 weeks and I have my results. Room Temperature between 32-37 C Before reversing the airflow of the PSU's fan I ran my benchmarks and got there results: CPU: i7 3770k stock with H220-x Idle: average of 40.9 C (ran 3 times for 15 min with 30 minutes of shutdown between tests) Load (P95): average of 65.2 C (ran 3 times for 15 min with 30 minutes of shutdown between tests) GPU: 2 EVGA GTX 970's in SLI Idle: Top card 38 C (ran 3 times for 15 min with 30 minutes of shutdown between tests) Bottom card 36 (ran 3 times for 15 min with 30 minutes of shutdown between tests) Load (EVGA furry/tessy test): Top Card 68 C (ran 3 times for 15 min with 30 minutes of shutdown between tests) Bottom card 66 C (ran 3 times for 15 min with 30 minutes of shutdown between tests) After reversing the PSU's fan (tests were run almost identically with the only exception being that the room temperature increased by about 4 C): Cpu temperatures maintained the same temperatures with about a 1 C of DeltaT GPU: Idle: Top: 38 C Bottom 35 C Load: Top: 69 C Bottom: 67 C Last thought: I wouldnt reccomend this to anyone. After 6 weeks of having the fan reversed I experienced better idle temps but worse Load temps. After taking out the PSU to re orient the fan the right way I found myself with capacitors filled with so much dust that it took me an hour to clean off. Like I said I do not reccomend this to anybody. -
I have wondered for a long time how would this affect temperatures of the components inside. Since modern power supplies have a "silent" mode wich turns off the fans if within the safe temp zone it is safe to assume that they don't get as hot as other components. I have a theory that reversing the fan orientation of a PSU will bring me better thermals as long as I have a wide gap between the wattage needed by the pc and the Wattage the PSU can supply. I will be testing this on my main and only computer and will update as soon as I have my results. Alright, it has been 6 weeks and I have my results. While vessel may seem like a better alternative for LMG it still isn't perfect. For starters it lacks the support of mobile playback which is a huge issue to viewers who are used to watching LTT on the go. While not common it still is an issue that people will have to deal with. Also the quality doesn't seem to be on par with YouTube. Videos tend to look compressed and the only two options for quality are "HD on or auto". The video details does not support links and we can't dislike video to give Linus quick feedback about the content. On the other side Vessel is still a new platform which very few people upload to and even less people knew about it but i also means that it's not a final version. I'm sure that after Linus flooded vessel's servers with free accounts, this service will become a more popular option among the community and will improve with time.

I bought 2 EVGA GTX 970 SC one month after the they released. While I personally haven't had any issues yet, I can't guarantee I won't have any in the future. That's why I at least hope they give us something to compensate for they're screw up. 4GB GDDR5 was just a marketing scheeme and I believe that they can get into legal trouble.

Google plans 2015 Project Ara ‘Market Pilot’ launch in Puerto Rico
rockero_8727 replied to Spiderloser's topic in Tech News
As a resident of Puerto Rico I have mixed feelings about this. First of all the companies that Google is partnering with are just horrible at providing services, For example Claro's Internet services are tied with home phone services and offer an averege of 1Mbps downlaod and 0.5Mbps upload speeds. To get decent speeds the price per month well exceeds $100 as can be seen here: http://www.claropr.com/wps/portal/pr/sc/personas/internet/internet-hogar#info-02_ih Apart from their bad services at home, their mobile division is even worse. Before Claro came to Puerto Rico we had Verizon and it was pretty good at delivering what they promised. Then Claro bought Verizon in Puerto Rico and all changed, people who were used to calling U.S. phone numbers had their cell phone bills multiplied ten times the original price agreement of service because Claro did not support long distance calling. Hopefully Google didn't make a mistake by partnering with Claro. I will also say that it's not all bad here. The college system here: "University of Puerto Rico (UPR)" is one of the best I've seen in America. Scholarships are determined by the income of the student, the lower the income the higher the scholarship. Apart from that the price per credit is just $55 which is fairly cheap and it is attractive enough to encourage residents to enroll. Also UPR's most prestigious campus is the one located in Mayaguez city. UPR in Mayaguez or just UPRM provides students with the best Science and Engineering education in the Caribbean and rivals America's best Universities and Colleges. As a sophomore in UPRM I have seen many big companies like Microsoft, who decided to build a disc manufacturing facility in Puerto Rico, take interest in students and faculty members in this campus and have very well seen results in their work. Maybe this is what Google had in mind all along, exploiting all of those students potential in Hardware and Software engineering. -

swiftech h220x my Temps ok?
rockero_8727 replied to rockero_8727's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
Those Temps are stock speed. Ironically when I over clocked it to 4.5GHz Temps were so alike that they fall into margin of error. -
I recently installed this cooler thinking I was going to get near room temps on my cpu. After careful examination that the block was properly installed I powered the system and upon letting it settle in and then testing with prime 95 for an hour I obtained idle temps fluctuating between 40°-45°C. Load temps were a solid 65°C. What do you guys think of these temps? My cpu is a 3770k, motherboard is msi z77 MPower.
