  1. Please, more networking stuff! I like it so much. My thoughts on the router: Meh. I don't really care. I have an AC68U and its been running well. Just waiting for third party software.
  2. You might want to take a look at the Dell Latitude 3540. Haswell i5 4200u (yeah I know "u" but it's very good. I program on this and no problem) and AMD 8850m. I got mine for 669$ on dell Canada, but I read that if you are in the US, you can find them for around 400-500$. On my side, I am looking for 16gb of DDR3 SODIMM (2X8gb) for around 100-120$ + shipping to Canada.
  3. On my side, that would be cycling and RC cars (does that count as electronic stuff?!?)
  4. +1 for ac68u so much things you can do with this thing! source : I personnaly own one and its rock solid
  5. Thanks for the heads up! and heck yeah them black fans!
  6. Hello! Looking into a X230 during BlackFriday. However, I had a couple of questions. First : Is it possible to change the HDD to SSD without too much stupid software lockdowns (asking because I can't change my HDD in my Samsung, the BIOS does not detect the SSD no mather what...) Second : Can I add a MSata SSD and install for example Kali Linux on it to fiddle arround? I want to have a dedicated drive for it while having Windows on my main SSD. Thanks guys and gals! Have a nice day, eh!
  7. This! Or the Asus 1750 and 1900 if you are into AC.
  8. Your welcome! Have a nice day!
  9. Hey, just wondering if anyone heard when Noctua would release their 200mm they've demonstrated some time ago. Thanks
  10. Hmm I don't know if you can kick someone, but you surely have parental control so if you want to disable internet for computer x from 8AM to 7PM or something you surely can. Or if you want to completely remove internet access for a device, you can. Or you can use MAC address filtering, so if someone connects to your network that is not in the list you made of MAC addresses, the router will not assign him an ip. Hope that answers your question.
  11. "Since you are getting 250 kbps speeds i would say don't bother changing anything it won't help much." This!
  12. the Asus is reputed to have really good speeds and range. as for dual band what it means is that the router can use the normal/more crowded 2.4ghz band (microwave is on this and wireless phone and everything else) and the 5.0ghz band which is almost empty so less interference. however, 5.0ghz tends to have shorter range based on my experience even though it's less susceptible to interference. normally in radio bands, the lower, the further you can go/pass through objects. both bands have benefits and its fun to have them both.
