Axinex's Achievements

  1. You should check out /r/MechanicalKeyboards. There's a bunch of build guides and Q&A's about building custom keyboards on their wiki and throughout the sub in general.
  2. At this point, you'd need the goddamned Pope to kill this beast.
  3. I can definitely get behind a ThinkPad. I've owned a few and they've never disappointed me. There are definitely some out there on places like eBay and /r/hardwareswap that could fit the bill. As for any situation where budget is slim, be patient and wait for a slick deal, you'd be surprised how low some people will go when they're looking to offload stuff quickly.
  4. Depending on the RPM of the fan, this could either be a normal thing, or it could be the spawn of Satan himself. Joking aside, if the fan is running off of Molex, this could definitely be normal. Typically with molex, the fan will just run at its rated maximum speed. Depending on the specific model of fan, that fan could be moving really goddamned fast, possibly fast enough to cause injury.
  5. If the instance of Command Prompt has already been closed, then there is no way to recover the history of what was entered.
  6. If you have Windows installation media, you can boot to that and run a Windows install, just as if you were going to do a clean install, but run it as an "Upgrade" installation instead. This is known as an "In-Place Upgrade." It basically re-installs Windows while having little to no impact on your files and applications. That said, if you've made any changes using a utility like DoNotSpy10 or any change to system settings, you may have to re-do these changes after the upgrade is complete. Good luck!
  7. My god, man... That is beautiful. I've always wanted to explore the concept of the flat custom-milled reservoirs, and this is only driving me to want it even more.
  8. Adding onto this, run the loops in parallel in addition to QD fittings. Sure, it means having to use a DDC instead of a D5 or somesuch, but it means that during the course of servicing one system, you can still utilize the other for troubleshooting, background music, Overwatch, etc.
  9. Honestly, I'd advise going with the stainless nozzle instead. I haven't worked with any sort of extra-abrasive filament like the type of reinforced/modified PLA you're talking about, but it stands to reason that a solid stainless steel nozzle would hold up better. Once the nickel plating on the plated brass nozzle wears through, you run into the same problems with wear that you would with a standard all-brass nozzle.
  10. Not always necessarily. I'd check around to see if your model of external HDD uses a standard SATA connector inside of the enclosure, or if it's a proprietary connector on the drive. I've seen a number of newer Seagate and WD external drives use a custom PCB soldered directly to the drive instead of a standard SATA->USB controller type of setup. Of course, YMMV.
  11. That's not the point of this post. The point is, and I quote:
  12. Honestly, if losing your progress on your UEFI/BIOS settings takes priority over un-bricking your overclock, then you should probably re-evaluate said priorities. This is why when you overclock, ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS make a backup of your settings in a known-working configuration before changing any OC settings. tl;dr yes it's your only option.
  13. With the cable plugged into the 24-pin connector on the motherboard, even with the wires pushed down as flat as they can be, the connector and wires are too tall for the case to be closed. Even without the use of ANY sort of standoffs in the case, this is still a concern. And yes, this is a PS2 case.
  14. On a normal Mini ITX board, in the case I'm using, the power connector literally does not fit.
