  1. Soo, this is my very first watercooling build, i have done alot of other air builds but i have never tried to do a full custom loop. My problem is, that i cant quiet understand how to run my tubes, here is my build as it currently stands: Please note that i am cooling the mobo (rampage 4 extreme black) as well as the ram and of course cpu and gpus. Should i scrap the cooling on the RAM or keep it? What i need help with is running my tubing. I originally started with hard tubing but i found myself struggling alot, and reflecting on it now, it was a bit ambitious. Im using 1/2'' LRT tubing. I also want some suggestions on where i could possibly mount my resivor and which one i should use, thanks to all in advance: Any suggestions would be much appreciated...
  2. so i tried macdrive, and nope that doesnt work. i dont understand why this is happening
  3. So my mum has a WD my book drive, and when i plug it in, windows makes the noise confirming that it is definitely there but it doesnt com up on computer. I have gone through devie management to see if it is there, and again its there and i have even gone to disk management and again, it shows that the drive is there and that it has things on it, but i cant access it. It has been used on a mac (i know, wasn't my choice) for the first part of its life, and it is still recognized by the mac. I have looked on the internet and cant seem to fix the problem. I have tried other My book drives that she has and they dont seem to recognize either. I tried my work USB and it worked just fine along with a range of my other usb's but the mass storage devices dont seem to want to work properly.
  4. well its a design and technology project, i already have a processor unless i can get my hands on dual socket board, then i will explore my options.
  5. So i have the fortunate pleasure of being able to build a really expensive computer. Now i have done it before and my first attempt was overkill to say the least but this time i actually have to build this computer as part of a school project. So my first question comes in with the graphics cards.... I have only ever owned AMD graphics cards. My first was a 6870 and now i have dual 7970's. Now i have been having problems with crossfire to the point where i had to take out one of my 7970;s because it was causing my computer to shutoff in the middle of a gaming session, so when i ask what graphics cards should i get, i mainly want to know is it worth going for triple 780/ti's or triple r9 290x's? I am worried that if i get R9's i will have the problem i have now and i dont really want to go back to that. I will be doing my first custom water cooling loop so im looking at cooling my three graphics cards as well as my motherboard and my CPU as well. This brings me to my next question, how many radiators and pumps will i need to make that system effectively flow? Im going to try and fit all these parts onto a rampage 4 extreme housed by a 750D. Now as you can probably guess my budget is really quiet high. I have about $5 or $6k to blow. Ive been trying to find a dual socket motherboard that has a red and black color scheme that i can get within Australia. I don't want to get any of my parts from over seas because it will jack the price up massively as well as attract the eyes of customs if it is close to $1k in currency value. This basically means no dual sockets from outside this country.
  6. I remember trying out my ax1200 in my level 10 and i cant remember if it fit properly or not. I need to know if it will fit as im swapping back to my old level 10 from a massive cosmos 2. i dont want to rip my cabling to pieces all to find out that it doesn't fit.

  8. I have had my h100I for about 2 or 3 months now, and the red and green LED's have stopped working all together. Anyone else encounter this problem and know a fix?
  9. So do you eman i would need to buy a Blade case specific just for them? So that would probably be the reason they are dirt cheap.
  10. at one point i had about 200+ plugins and about 30 - 60 players on all the time, but server bills became to much so i had to stop, so it was pretty server intensive. According to my old server company i was running on E3-1240v3 with 32GB of ram and it was pretty close to capping out the 32GB of ram at points, im thinking i might just make a dedicated server just for it but, im not to worried about it.
  11. The reason i dont like MSI boards is because i have had a bad record with them,(almost as bad as the record i have had with segate...) I have had 3 MSI boards and all 3 DOA. After the first time i was like fair enough, it happens. But then i got a brand new one off RMA, dead as well, got a third off RMA again, also dead. I would prefer it be one big server mainly because its easier to manage and less stress on my parents who have a stoke at the thought of that much storage. Plus i want the server for a bit of 24/7 folding. Yeah i know its alot, but my mum shoots bands as a hobby and can take anywhere from 500-4000 photos in one night! And because they are all in .RAW format, they are massive and uncompressed. I have tried pleading with her to delete doubles but she is stubborn and i dont really want to deal with her, so this is the easier solution (plus she would be paying for it :D). Id be looking to start off at about 40TB and then upgrading probably 5-10 TB extra a year. I have also had a look at that link and i am amazed at what some people have done BUT, I wouldnt have a clue as how to setup half of what was in there. I know how to build a PC, but i dont know how to configure the network and all that other stuff so that it works without a problem. Is there anywhere you could possibly link me to tutorials on networking and servers? Thank you both for the replies!
  12. meh, segate, i have never had a good experience with them, i have had 4 or 5 Segate drives die on me, and only ever 1 WD
  13. that doesnt seem to be that CPU intensive so i would go with a cheap i3, or if you want to be super carefull, a cheap xeon processor will also do the trick.
