  1. Madison is mine currently. Just watched the latest TechLinked that she hosted and I've gotta say, think she did well considering it's her first 'proper' video other than RIG Reboot. She's rather active with the community and frankly it's nice to have more women in a tech space that's fairly dominated by males. Also, the dynamic between her and Linus I find hilarious
  2. Looked it up, it receives all security updates, just no feature updates of any kind. I'm running it now and it's a massive improvement for me in terms of general performance. I'm sure it's not advised though however.
  3. Thanks NelizMastr. I thought as much. Just wanted to double check with the community just incase there was a stark reason not to do it. Think I can live without Paint 3D & Edge
  4. What sort of software are you running on those VM's? Have you encountered any sort of Windows version compatibility issues?
  5. Hey Guys, So... I'm in a unique position where I have legitimate access to Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB and valid licensing. My current setup is a Threadripper 1920X, ASUS Zenith Extreme, 32GB RAM, EVGA 1080 FTW, 250GB Samsung 960 EVO. I've got Windows 10 Pro installed currently however I get terrible stuttering even when closing a program or game and moving to a separate window? It's a little strange. I also really hate the way Windows 10 decides to update on my machine. I understand LTSB obviously doesn't receive feature updates (which I'm more than fine with) and is lovely and lightweight as I'm using this as a Windows VM on a parallels install. I understand it receives just essential security updates but am concerned over software compatibility. Does anyone here know of any obvious concerns I should have over this (i.e. nVidia software won't work or perhaps some other common app won't)? I also have no intention on using the Windows App Store, I realise this isn't available on LTSB. I plan to rebuild the PC tonight and will be putting on LTSB (providing no issues).
  6. I did a ThreadRipper build just 2 weeks ago with the Dark Base Pro 900. I only went for an AIO so the radiator/hard drive issues weren't a problem for me. You're going to have quite the rig on your hands when its done!
  7. I bought the Zenith and was seriously worried about fitting it in certain cases. I ended up going with the Dark Base Pro 900 and I'm not disappointed. Its a very nice case with A LOT of flexibility. Build quality is top notch and it fits just fine.
  8. Just bought the same board using a 1920X. Exactly the same issue! I've managed to work around it by unplugging my SATA devices and then resetting the BIOS back. I don't know why this worked but it did. I've updated to the latest BIOS which has helped but still have very strange booting issues which result in no display output. I'll let you know if I find out more. It may help you as I could find a thing online anywhere to help me.
  9. Yeah, take a look at ownCloud. I'm in the process of trying to set up a private 'own' cloud solution but haven't had a lot of time recently.
  10. You'll have to share some nice pics of your setup when you've completed it
  11. Looks like a nice rig Air cooler if you aren't going to be overclocking to extremes should be absolutely fine! *Edit: Just saw the amount of case fans you've got on their... Geez! hahaha* CES coverage showed EVGA introducing the FTW2 card which uses a new iCX cooler as appose to the ACX 3.0 cooler on the current FTW card. It's supposed to be an improvement over the ACX 3.0 design and looks very similar aesthetically. Not sure when that's due for release so if you aren't in a mega rush to get the GPU might be worth holding out? If not, don't get me wrong the ACX 3.0 cooler on the original FTW is great and looks pretty IMO
  12. I've tried the Gigabyte 1080 xtreme gaming card, mine unfortunately failed after just 1 week (I'm sure this is just a one off, they're a great company and sh*t happens). I returned mine and ended up buying the EVGA 1080 FTW instead. It's definitely marginally quieter than the Gigabyte card was under load. I have a very poorly ventilated case (1 case fan only) and room and the FTW card doesn't reach temps any higher than 72c whilst overclocked and is still very nice and quiet. Like others have said already I'm sure, these pascal cards overclock really nice so perhaps picking based on factory overclocks isn't the best idea seeing as you could easily achieve this with a little tweak on lower clocked ones. My FTW for example GPU boosts on it's own to just under 2100Mhz (obviously your results will vary depending silicon lottery).
  13. 32GB is always a good shout. I use a 64GB card in mine but I'm running at 1440p in fairness. Considering in the event of an accident you're likely to export the video straight away you shouldn't need to go too crazy.
  14. I use a DDPai M6 Plus in my car and have done for about 4 months now. Love it! Image quality is very good in both day and night and adjusts to changing light condition very well. I only paid £90 for mine as well, which when considering its discrete, records at 1440p, has GPS, WiFi (and free app which now works very well), easily removable from it's magnetic windscreen mount for storing out of sight and has a small battery was a winner for me. A really good reviewer for DashCams is a guy called Techmoan. He's based here in the UK and has had numerous of DashCams come through his site and YouTube channel. Obviously everyone has different needs/wants along with various different budgets so worth checking that out as well if perhaps Edzel's video didn't cover something that ticks all your boxes?
  15. Yeah, just been looking at PC Specialists today as well. Seems a good way about it. Thanks exercutor5!
