  1. Thanks! Will look into this. What do you reckon is the smallest partition I could get away with? Including OS, would it be usable for light tasking and a few crucial apps if I allocated 100GB?
  2. Invalid invite for the /r/Hackintosh Paradise discord server.
  3. i5 6600k, ASRock 4sPro Z170 MOBO, 16GB DDR4 RAM @ 2333MHz, (1) Samsing 860Pro 500GB [Not touching for Hackintosh], (1) Mystery SATA SSD [Using for MacOS, IDK the brand name, got it from a friend of a friend out of a dataserver xD] and (1) Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB HDD [Not touching for MacOS.]
  4. Greetings! I would like to know if anyone could point me in the direction of instructions to create a hackintosh out of my pre-existing windows system. My aim is to partition one of my windows drives (of which there are three, one boot SSD, one data SSD, which I would like to use for MacOS, and one HDD for data overflow.) I have been looking around online for some instructions but the general instructions I am finding assume you are building a purely MacOS rig and that you are starting from scratch. If anyone could provide instructions for how to convert my pre-existing rig into a hackintosh without losing any data or having to do mass backup/restore schemes it would be greatly appreciated. I can provide detailed system specs and information if needed. Thanks!
  5. A suggestion if I may. First off, the new logo, the "Tide" one as Edzel coined looks much much better than the first go. I don't really know why this iteration took place in the public eye and not as an internal project, but to each their own I suppose. The main advice I want to give is in regards to the banner. I really dislike that typeface. My suggestions for different typefaces that give off a cleaner look would be Europa Bold, Gibson, Halyard Display, Motiva Sans, Museo Sans, Proxima Nova, and Runda, all of which with a 210pt tracking increase. Just my 2 cents. Otherwise, great work on improving the first revision of the logo!
  6. Will this cooler work with that PCB https://www.neweggbusiness.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9B-35-186-052&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleBiz-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleBiz-PC-_-pla-_-VGA+Cooling-_-9B-35-186-052&gclid=CjwKCAjw-dXaBRAEEiwAbwCi5jsLSDHQ06FISeFbbyc-PwLviRQ05M_LIklBaP3N1nPNwV1foQOdIBoCZbEQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  7. Absolutely, that's why I'm considering it! I'm having trouble with finding the heatsinks though . eBay has left me SOL.
  8. My friend is selling it for the price of shipping, so at most I'm out $20.
  9. Hi This is a bit of an odd post. I've been offered a hybrid GTX 1070 that's essentially useless solely due to the fact that the water pump on it keeps failing thereby forcing the card to shut off to prevent overheating and subsequent damage. I really want to take the seller up on their offer (they are a close friend and dependable colleague, I know he is telling the truth about the source of the issue,) and due to buying a new card he's selling this old one for pennies on the dollar. Here's where my question comes in. It's a standard EVGA Hybrid 1070 card (https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=08g-p4-6278-kr) so would I be able to purchase a used heatsink for an EVGA 1070 FTW card and swap out the hybrid cooling component of the card with an air cooled heatsink? I'm presuming that the cards have the same PCBs so it should be no issue, but I don't want to buy the card if it turns out this can't be done. Thanks for the help in advance!
  10. Negative, all computer generated imagery, nothing more.
  11. This is some stuff I've been making with a modified Assetto Corsa engine lately. Be sure to open in full to appreciate the glory of the resolution.
  12. So, I love Scrapyard Wars as much as anyone else here. As soon as I saw it posted I put aside all work (even stuff that was kinda urgent) to watch it, and I loved it. I like that they legit booked a flight just to go get parts, that's the kind of outlandish stuff that defines LMG, and I'm loving it. I enjoyed the video, and am still extremely hype for the next episode, but I had one problem with it that didn't hit me quite right, and it came when Linus was trying to negotiate the 980 down in price. I frequently enjoy the stories that Linus comes up with to get people to lower prices on their products, but this dealing took it too far. He convinced the guy to give him a massive discount by giving him a sob story, and instead of dropping it, really pushing his sob story and how little money he had. I get that it was all for competition, but for a man who had the money to literally book private flights same day in LA tell another guy he could barely scrounge up $175 felt wrong, it didn't feel unique, it just felt like unnecessary heart-string pulling to get what he wanted so he could win a pissing contest against his friends so he could post the video and make thousands of dollars. It didn't feel good, or fun, or in the spirit of competition. So I wanted to get you guys' opinions on this. How many of you would donate to a GoFundMe to send GTX 980 guy somewhere around the difference between the money he got and what he was charging (maybe an extra little bonus for being a decent human being?) I'd be willing to throw in some money as well, just mainly want to try to fix what I thought was wrong. I'm mainly looking for opinions on donations here, not a flamewar about Scrapyard Wars tactics, but if you feel you would not be inclined to donate, I'd be happy to know why.
  13. Hrm... Either way I'd recommend 8GB for future proofing. You don't need 8GB right now but it's gonna be nice a couple years down the road.
