  2. thanks 4 the replys, i just dont find carpet ideal because i do lots of work for buisnesses around town and the last thing i want to do is damage stuff that isnt mine. i have worked on carpet many times aswell and been fine just more cautious now that lots of my work is for people i dont want to muck around.
  3. basicaly i have no other area other than a room that is carpeted to do pc work at the moment. trying to read up on and understand Electrostatic Discharge as much as possible but not long out of hospital and just need it put simply for me. i basicaly want to know if there is anything inexpensive i can get from say my local hardware store to lay down over the carpet. i used to have a huge floor mat that cost me about 2,000NZD's wich was anti-static but lost it in a house fire recently. thanks for your information guys, will be much appreciated
  4. Hey guys, looking for a case that i can mount a dual 140 or 120mm radiator on in push pull config. somthing with abit of a rugid/industrial look to go with my Sabertooth 990FX R2.0. preferably 8 expansion slots but 7 would be ok. mid- tower prefferably but would consider full-tower.
  5. So ive got a 2x8gb 1866mhz memory kit installed on my crosshair iv extreme mobo with a 1090t cpu. but its only showing up as 8gb instead of 16. ive got them configured in dual channel and ive updated the bios to ver.2002 and tried everything else i know. it seems it may be the ram (or mobo) itself butt am i missing something? thanks in advance guys! :)
  6. sorry guys if this is kind of stupid but i need a wee bit of help with getting memory to go with my new fx-8350. i have a crosshair iv extreme board and want to put 16gb (8gb x 2) of ram in it. looking at the chart on amd's website im confused as to wether i should get 1833mhz ram or 1600mhz ram. i will attach a copy of the chart from amd's website. but does available memory mother board slots mean that there will be 2 left unpopulated after 2 populated or the 2 populated are also refering to the 1's available? im quite confused. please help asap guys! thanks lol i even confused myself trying to read what i just wrote
  7. got 2 builds done, 1st; Case: raidmax seiran Motherboard: M4A78 PRO Processor: Phenom II X6 1090T, corsair h60 water cooling Ram: OCZ Reaper 1066mhz PSU: Antec 620 Watt GPU: Asus GTX 660 network card: TP-Link TL-WN851ND 300Mbps Wireless N PCI 2nd; Case: Corsair 600t (white edition) Motherboard: Crosshair IV Extreme Processor: AMD FX-8350, cooled with Corsair h100i Ram: Corsair Dominator Platinum 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-2133 PSU: Antec HCP-1000 GPU: Asus Radeon HD6970 network card: INTEL CENTRINO ADVANCED-N 6205 WIRELESS CARD both builds were done with just parts lying around, but i still have leftovers that i either want 2 put in either of them or sell. 1. Hauppauge HVR-4000, i dont really want to sell this but think i already know its going in build 1 2. Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional Series, just want to either put it in wichever build is most nesacery or sell it if un-needed. (i use digital optical throgh my home theatre for sound) 3. Vantec 4-Port SuperSpeed USB 3.0 PCIe Host Card, which again will probably go in build 1 because build 2 already has usb 3. so basicaly just realised i already know what i want to do, but the main question has become about the sound card, nesacery or just sell?
  8. So i ordered a top-mounted 240mm radiator and two NF-F12's to go with it and at the same time i ordered a NF-S12B fan as a case exhaust but they emailed me and said they wouldnt have the NF-S12B in stock for another month and offered for me to change it for a 3rd NF-F12 instead, i would like to know what benifits there could possibly be (if any) and what negatives theer could be if i just take the NF-F12 and just use it as an exhaust. I have no problem waiting for the NF-S12B to be back instock if this is the superior option
