  1. I think your PC is for gaming and Aesthetics. If it is about sweet spot between price to performance than my choice is R5 but at your budget, you should only consider about Performance & Aesthetics. That's why i think i7 7700K is best CPU for your I have done some tweaking with Cooler, PSU , MoBo, RAM & Storage choice because of that i am able to replace i5 6600K with i7 7700K & GTX 1070 with GTX 1080 PCPartPicker part list: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/YFrVPs CPU: Intel - Core i7-7700K 4.2GHz Quad-Core Processor CPU Cooler: NZXT - Kraken X31 69.5 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard: MSI - Z270 TOMAHAWK ATX LGA1151 Motherboard Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory Storage: Sandisk - Ultra II 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Storage: Toshiba - X300 4TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Video Card: Palit - GeForce GTX 1080 8GB JetStream Video Card Case: NZXT - H440 (Matte Black/Red) ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: EVGA - SuperNOVA G2 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply Operating System: Microsoft - Windows 10 Home Full 32/64-bit Total: £1496.17
  2. Build quality ( quality of a component ) , hardware design ( VRM and other stuff ) , Aesthetic , Features of MSI boards are generally good. I prefer ASUS ( for myself ) because ASUS service center is near my house.
  3. He will be in trouble if he do that, your answer isn't complete. The bag is conductive on the outside and non conductive from inside.It depends on the orientation. The best thing is to put your motherboard on top of your motherboard cardboard box.
  4. Short ans : Officially 6th gen do not support DDR3. But you can run DDR3 The new memory controller integrated into Skylake CPUs support DDR4 , DDR3L ( L is for low volt, it consume low voltage compare to old DDR3 ). Because both DDR3 and DDR 3L are same memory ( except voltage consumption ). You can run DDR3 on a skylake CPU. DDR3 is not going to damage your CPU directly. It may or may not affect your CPU memory controller very slowly ( like a very slow poison ). Probability of not getting affected is very high and there is no proof available right now. Theoretically there is a chance of getting affected .In short DDR3 is not bad for your system but it is not healthy also. Another thing is that, when you are going for latest gen CPU , than why are you going for old gen Memory ? ( when both cost same )
  5. Don't go with that mother board. When you are going to O.C your CPU . For better result, you have to consider 4 things. 1) Bining no. ( you can't control this factor, it depends on luck ) 2) Chipset : does your chipset support O.C ( in case of intel ( Z and X chipset support that feature ) 4) No. of VRM : it is going to deliver power to your CPU, in short for better O.C and stability you should go with 8-10 phase ( count the no. of black box over and left side of CPU socket) 5) PSU : Yup, it effects theoretically. It is the mane power house of you PC. It is going to convert current from A.C to D.C. During this conversion they create ripple. ripple caused by your PSU should be low for better stability and reliability. It can be done by good circuit design and good build quality of PSU. This is the minimum i will recommend (without compromising in build quality and performance : http://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/fpB28KN
  6. If you want a GTX 1070, than i will recommend you to remove that 500 Gb 750 evo SSD from you list & move that money toward GPU. SSD is not going to increase you Gaming FPS .After spending money on GPU, if you can't afford a decent 240 - 250Gb SSD. Than i will recommend to add a SSD later. It is very simple to add a SSD later
  7. Crosair CX M are quite good PSU line up ( much better than old CX line up) . But if you are not fixed with corsair , than you can also go with this PSU: 1)Seasonic G 550W 2) EVGA G2 550W 3) Evga GS 4) Seasonic S12ii 520W
  8. Air cooler: Pro : 1) Easy to repair : only fan will stop working. If that happen , you can easily replace that with a new static pressure fan. 2) Tension Free : Once installed, you don have worry about anything Cons : 1) Good for mild over clocking, not for pushing your CPU at it's limit 2) You have care full about CPU temp Note :- Cooler master hyper 212x, evo,.. isn't that good for O.C Water cooler: Pro : 1) Much bigger Over clocking headroom 2) You don't have to worry about CPU temp Cons: 1) Hard to repair : If Pump stop working you have to buy a new one ( didn't happen to me ) 2) Tension of leakage of water. ( didn't happen to me )
  9. What PSU you are using? Don't buy PSU , just looking at it's efficiency. First look at the build quality (quality of capacitors, board design ) of the PSU than performance ( ripple , noise ) than efficiency. I would like to buy 80+ bronze PSU over 80+ gold ( If the build quality of bronze is better than gold ).
  10. If you are not going to O.C your CPU right now and if you are going to upgrade your cooler than go for it. Otherwise you can reduce the price of your case and spend that extra money on a good CPU Cooler. ex: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/rgW7RG
  11. Suggestion : 1) SSD : change your ssd from 240gb UV300 to 240-250 gb crucial BX / MX 200 , OCZ Trion 150 , Kingstone Savage, 850 evo ..... etc. 2) Upgrade your CPU cooler as fast as possible.
  12. 1200W is way to much for you PC, 850W is perfect for your PC . https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ Changes: From : 850 evo 500 Gb SATA SSD To : 950 PRO 512Gb nvme From : 1Tb HDD To : 2Tb HDD From : 16Gb RAM To : 32 Gb From : 1200W EVGA P2 To : 850W EVGA P2 From : MSI X99A Carbon To : MSI X99A SLI
  13. 64 Gb is more than enough if you are not going to run a ton of virtual machine at same time. I am a programmer in C++, Java, python. My PC has more than enough power to run 1 Linux in a virtual machine while working in a windows at the same time.
  14. For PSU you can go with Seasonic S12ii / m12ii / g12 etc. EVGA : G2, GS, GQ, P2, etc Coolermaster : V Crosair : RM x/i , Ax , Hx etc. With that budget for PSU, i would like go with evga or seasonic.
  15. If you want an Overclocking CPU than you can go with that build, but you can afford GTX 1070 in that budget . http://pcpartpicker.com/list/yhPtpb
  16. Suggestion: CPU : i5 6600 -> i5 6500 ( there is no real life difference between these two CPU ) SSD : 120 Samsung -> 240 -250 Gb ( evo, savage , trion 150 , BX 200, MX 200 etc. ) ( 240 - 250 Gb has better read and write performance, better write/erase cycle, more storage ) PSU : CXM 550W -> seasonic s12ii 520 / evga g2 / gs etc. ( Japanese Cap, great board design , better build quality, more reliable )
  17. I have both 6700K ( 4.5 GHz , actually that PC belongs to my brother, but i am allowed to use it ) and 6500 CPU.If you are going to play games and daily works , the performance difference is very small . K series CPU are for those, who has little high budget because than they will be able to squeeze out more juice from their CPU, at that price. But that doesn't mean that non K don't worth money. I can say that because i have both CPU.
  18. Ram failure is very very very rare. Don't worry about the warranty. I can't say anything about klevv but G Skill memories are good in terms of quality. I will go with G SKILL Wear and tear associated with normal use : " You are not going to switch on and off you PC every 5 min. even if you do it, it is not going to create any prob at least for 3-4 years " Any acts of nature, abnormal mechanical or environmental condition, modification, abuse, accident, disassembly, misapplication, or unauthorized repair "You are not going to hit your RAM with hammer & you are not going to modify your ram " Removal or alteration of any manufacturer label(s) or sticker(s) " You are are not going to remove warranty sticker " Any improper assembly, handling, installation, or operation; including any use not in accordance with any supplied product instructions " You are not going to fit DDR3 RAM in any other slot , they won't fit also " " You are not going to increase ram voltage than it's limit in bios " Connection to any improper voltage supply " You are not going to increase ram voltage than it's limit in bios " Removal or reassembly of heatspreader " You are not going to remove heat sink present in the ram " Missing, damaged, detached, or bent contact pins, chips, parts, casing, or heatspreader " you are not going to put your ram in a highly damage mobo " Any other cause which does not relate to a product defect in materials or workmanship " you are not going to modify your ram " The exceptions are made by considering " LIFE TIME WARRANTY " . Do you understand the meaning of LIFE TIME. I Highly doubt that you are going to use this ram for more than 5-7 Years.
  19. You build is good but you are spending way to much money on a case , cooler, SSD, PSU than CPU & GPU For CPU and MoBo iam going with I5 6600K with MSI Z170 Krait , so that you can O.C your CPU. For GPU i am going with GTX 1080. This PC is based on black/white Theme. I am using PC part picker list for this build.
