  1. Alright, I'm back! I've switched the two components and still have the same short. It seems like that one was not the issue. Is there anything that this resistor is connected to that might cause the issue?
  2. Okay, thank you for the next steps. My multimeter does not have a low enough resolution to measure these low resistances. The RS1 does not short to ground so I can try that one out. I'll need to brush up on my soldering skills and come back once I have tried it.
  3. Thank you for your help! Yes, both pins short to ground (so 1,3,4,5,6). I also found that the resistor "RS501" which is close to the 3x2 connector shorts to ground (~21 ohms) and the others don't (several k ohms). (If that might be an issue).
  4. Greetings and thank you for taking a look! My skills: I'm an tech enthusiast but an amateur when it comes to GPU repair and electronics in general (had some classes in the past going over the basics). My issue: My graphics card causes issues in my PC where it will shut down the whole system when I have the 3x2 PCI connector connected. If I only have the 4x2 connected, then the PC will stay on without any output to a monitor. Another graphics card will work just fine. What I found so far: - I found that two of the 3x2 connectors have a short between the pairs as seen here in red (pictures below) - The board seems to be in a generally good condition (pictures below) - I checked the mosfets similar to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTPAW0J7NKE and found no shorts there. (Here's a big image with what I assume to be the gates and the PCB lanes I checked marked with green circles and arrows) - I checked the 12V PCB lanes (3 left lanes and 4th from the right) which did not short either I would really appreciate some pointers on either where to check or a good source with more information on how to continue my hunt! It seems my google-fu is at its limit. Connectors have a short: https://i.imgur.com/6qXXD15.jpg Condition of the board: https://i.imgur.com/MhUtjSz.jpg https://i.imgur.com/PsgMEQ8.jpg
  5. I mean the earth moves with about 460 meters per second. That's not that slow. Also according to the Sensor Multitool app on my phone, the resolution of my gyroscope is 0.0000174533 rad/s. That does not sound like it would be impossible.
  6. First of all: I'm not sponsored or any any other way than as customer related with them. The idea of having one cable for my old micro USB hardware and my new USB type c shit really turned me on. So I ordered one long cable with 3 tips. Here comes my first issue I had: I ordered the wrong tips and they didn't deliver the tips I ordered. It didn't even take 1 day to resolve this issue. They gave me a custom coupon to get another 2 tips for free and I had to pay for shipping while keeping the 2 extra ones (thunderbolt): fair enough. 3 months later... My only USB type c tip broke. It just broke in two, exposing all the wire in it. Again, not even 1 day where where they asked for a picture and gave me another coupon for 2(!) tips to replace my 1 broken one. I was really mad that the tip broke after just 3 months of daily use, but this amazing, fast customer support sold the company for me. Thumbs up for keeping them as channel sponsor ?
  7. I've been working on an indoor navigation system on my own and was trying to figure out how to get my orientation without using marker. That's when I saw a submarine film which made me wonder how they navigate under water, without any sight and limited GPS functionality. That's where gyro compasses come into view. As far as I can tell they are just rotating plates that keep their relative direction, even if the earth under them rotates away. (relative to who knows what, right?). So I've been wondering if it's possible to detect the earth rotation with the sensors in a smartphone. Does the gyro compass or accelorometer react differently if you move your phone with or against the earth's rotation? Thank you if anyone can help me with that!
  8. I've never had a SSD, ever. I wanted to buy one after I started studying but I seems money doesn't just appear out of my one Monitor. (I'm saving money for a second one..)
  9. Thanks for the giveaway, i never knew that there was such a big SSD.. As for the giveaway: I'd like to get the Kova because my Razor Deathadder is starting to fall apart!
