    with x2 980's (especially these ones) you can game at 1440p with no problems. overkill for 1080p though. for 1700 bucks, this is the most performance you'll get!
    it doesn't get much better than this (below). squeezed everything together for under 1700

    you should be okay with a 750w psu, but if you can afford an 850w, i would go with that just to be safe!!!

    No!! The 980 Ti has a significant improvement over the 980. The parts I've selected above are better, though, not by much.
