  2. Ok. i've isolated the issue. The cause is the Corsair Commander Pro. Its malfunctioning and causing the issues. I have unplugged it from the internal usb header, and so far my PC is working as normal.
  3. no decluttering install..totally fresh using the bootable USB i made from the Microsoft tools. will try this will try this as well.. as of now, there is a new bios for my Mobo..will update and proceed with a clean install again..

  6. So, I was upgrading my wife laptop with a new SSD. My steps were: 1. Connect original hdd and SSD to my desktop 2. Clone the HDD (windows partition) to the SSD using macarium 3. plug in SSD to laptop and boot up. 4. Verified windows boot was working. 5. Created a new partition on the SSD from the laptop. After that, I reconnected the SSD to my desktop to copy back files from the old HDD (Data Partition). Completed the copy. Verified the data was there. After copying was done. I plus the SSD back in and rebooted to windows. But the Data partiton on the SSD was blank. Anyone can explain what happened? Anyone can help me get the files to appear again?
  7. Solved this. For now. Got into the bios and turned off speed step and turbo. Currently downloading the update. will revert back to my original settings once the update is done. Thanks guys.
  8. Thanks. Will see if that works once I get physical access to the PC later today.
  9. Going through the settings now. But the apps detects my CPU at my OC clockedspeed of 4.2GHz BCLK at 100MHz and ratio at 42. It should be working fine.
  10. I have AI Suite installed. Possibly. Might have to play around with the settings in the BIOS later when I can access it.
  11. Will try that later. Currently at work, and I am accessing the home PC via Team viewer. So cannot access the BIOS right now.
  12. Did that and no change. already on high performance mode. I don't have that tool installed.
  13. Is that the only solution? I really want to avoid going that route.
  14. Asus MoBo. Maximus VII Gene. Is this a known issue with Asus MoBo? No change when doing stress test via CPU-Z
  15. Yup. I tried running cpu-z stress test and monitoring the reported frequency on task manager, still 0.80GHz the whole time.
  16. Hey I am trying to upgrade my Win10 to the anniversary update. However, the update assistant says that my CPU is not compatible. It seems that Windows only detects my 4690K running at 0.80GHz all the time. CPU-Z and Asus AI Suite detects my CPU at 4.2GHz. Is there a way to get windows to see the correct clock speed?
