Okay so sorry to prevail upon you folks again but somehow without changing a thing the cooling is no longer running as well. Originally it was around 89C, I put in the Deepcool Gammaxx 400 and got it down to around 70-75C under the same conditions. I walk away for a few days and do the same thing, and its back up to 89C (or even 90C). What gives? Should I try reapplying the thermal paste or something?

I threw this cooler on there and its about 15 degrees cooler now under the same conditions. Thanks again!

Yeah, I'm reluctant to get an aftermarket cooler because it would mean tearing down the system somewhat (to remove the mobo), but maybe thats the best route.

Hi all, I just swapped my i5 4460 for an i7 4770. I used Arctic thermal paste and the stock cooler. It took a few tries to get the cooler to seat properly, and I didn't reapply the paste between tries (I figured it was all going on there anyway). Now under load (battlefield 5) the CPU temps go as high as 89 degrees. Is that dangerously high?

I'd love to win! My super dark basement would be a perfect spot for such a short-throw projector. Thanks!
