  1. just for fun, never could get into FFXIV
  2. Ive seen ppl say the BF1 sli profile works better(don't remember where i read it). I have a single 1080 and get 60-100 fps at 1440p.
  3. I would say that the Sumsung EVO is one of the better SSD's on the market. I have one in my rig and it has not been a problen since i installed it.
  4. just recently got a gtx 1080 and a 2560x1440p 144hz gsync monitor.
  5. Radeon HD 4850. Bought it used(along with the rest of my first gaming pc) from my buddy that got me into pc building.
  6. no and really not needed unless you game above 1080p
  7. I stream with my 6600k just fine. But at the price difference, id say go with the 6700.
  8. If you look up Xbox anywhere, there is a list of games that are cross platform for pc/xbox1
  9. Most all games have a degree of repetitiveness to them, but from what I have seen from the streams so far, every planet is very different and makes it truly feel new.
  10. Thanks for the fast and informative responses, I don't mind something heavy as long as its not to intimidating for a beginner to learn how to use and can grow into. I think you guys have given me enough options already to pick from. But i am still interested in your opinions on some of them that you have experience with.
  11. Hello LTT, can anyone recommend a free/inexpensive video editing software, something that is easy for a beginner to use. Just looking to edit some gameplay videos to post to youtube. Thanks for your suggestions.
  12. Any of those options will be solid choice, don't get caught up in the 6+ core hype. Even when games start using all the available cores, a quad core will still hold its own in any game. Get the one you will be the happiest with. The X99 platform will probably have a longer life span then a Z170 platform, but the Z170 will still perform well for some time. Kabylake will be just a minor upgrade over skylake.
  13. Try updating your drivers, the afterburner screenshot shows older drivers. I had problems in wow with some of the older drivers.
  14. I would say go wit the i5. The 1151 socket will last you longer as the am3 socket is at the end of its life as far as getting a new cpu.
  15. Q4 2016 Q1 2017, but keep in mind that kabylake is just a skylake refresh and won't give much of a performance increase over skylake. @OP, I would say wait for zen or get a skylake i7 now.
  16. Just because a game will use more than 4 cores doesn't mean a quad core CPU will hinder your performance. Besides, the two CPU's asked about are both quad core CPU's, making an argument about more is not helpful to the op. In my opinion, any performance gain from a 6700k over a 6600k in gaming is not worth the extra money. There are still very few games that take advantage of HT, I have yet to play a game my 6600k can't handle.

  18. I upgraded to a 6600k, GTX 980 from a FX8350, HD7970 and the I'm very happy with the upgrade. Very worth it IMO.

    Help!!

If you plan to get a 6600k, you will want a Z170 mobo. you can get a good one for the same price as the one you already have picked out, or get a non k i5 and put that bit of cash into your gpu.
