  1. Rig Name: Too loud and too much buzzing with those water cooling pumps Cpu: 6700k GPU: 980ti Ram: 32gb 2133mhz
  2. EVGA 980ti hybrid -> EVGA Titan X Hybrid
  3. Yea so basically, Current setup is 6700k 980ti hybrid 32gb ram Asus z170 ar And my current monitor is a 1600p 60hz monitor, HP ZR30w. I've found myself 2 dilemmas. 1. If i get another 980ti, there's practically no point because my current one runs practically everything above 60hz. 2. If i get the Acer XB270HU, then my single 980ti probably can't handle all games at 144hz 1440p. I don't see myself being able to drop from 1600p to 1080p just for 144hz. The pricing for me is literally the same for either one. There's also a line of dead pixels down my monitor but ive lived with it for almost 3 years now. Suggestions?
  4. Yea i don't care about looks. I want to see no lights and hear nothing. I'm looking at the temps for the 980ti hybrid and they're significantly lower than others. My room temperature is pretty high, in summers down here it gets ridiculously hot sometimes and I'm buying EVGA since i've personally had a great experience so far.
  5. Alright lads, I'm planning on upgrading and any insight or help would be awesome. From where i am from (Australia), the 6700k is only marginally more expensive than a 4790k and there's an easier access to motherboards for me too. Some components i can get from overseas like amazon so long as they ship to australia (which many parts do). I'm upgrading from an old x79 platform (3820 and asrock extreme 9) which is close to dying. Pretty sure the mobo is almost dead. My friend is gonna reuse some of my parts, case and 2x 680s and i'll probably sell the 3820. I didn't want to replace the mobo because the cost of a new x79 (which is extremely hard to find) is nuts. GOAL: The quietest overall build i can get away both idle and load. No lights either (i gotto sleep with the lights off) So, the parts i've decided on (but might change) and I haven't bought any parts yet. i7-6700k with h100i GTX cooler Asus Z170-AR (I believe there's no fan on the mobo which i much prefer) Fractal Design Define R5 black Gonna have my generic ram, Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (4 x 8GB And my generic power supply, Corsair HX1000i (which is apparently very quiet yea?) Will have my generic SSD and Harddrive in the tray, so I don't think those will affect the system too much. So my style of use. I leave my pc on pretty much 24/7, but when i'm not gaming or working it's completely idle. Is it possible to fit 2x EVGA 980Ti hybrid cards into the Define R5 case and keep it very quiet? I was thinking of putting 1 of the coolers into the back exhaust and the 2nd on the bottom? I'm not sure of the configuration of the system especially since there's going to be the h100i in there as well. Would resorting an air cooler from noctua be better? I can reuse some of my old fans from my nxzt phantom or NH-D14 (2011 socket so i can't reuse) to add to the front radiator. If anyone has any experience with this, the Define R5 or the hybrid cards (+ your case you went with) any insight would be great. Thanks
  6. Any suggestions or tips? The system will be basically idling overnight and when I'm not playing games on it. Planning on using either i5-4690k or i5-4790k. (I'm actually still undecided, I usually run a LOT of programs including multiple games when i do game and i do video editing like once a month). Reusing my old sli gtx 680s and waiting probably another 2 years before i replace these. The Mobo that i need also requires a PCI slot because i happen to have a PCI (non E) Asus sonar essence card. Other questions i got are how long does it take to wear out a mobo with usage like this? Current mobo i have in mind is Asus Z97-A However, i heard that if i do have issues (since im using it 24/7) that there may be trouble trying to claim warranty/RMA. Thanks
  7. Current problem at the moment is that my PC isn't even starting up. It's not even turning on, no fans nothing.
  8. Tried different slot for every stick, different stick per slot and no stick at all and it still doesn't turn on.
  9. Currently the HD and SSD is disconnected and the problem persists.
  10. Hi guys, hope someone may be able to identify the problem. System specs i7 3820 with noctua NH-D14 (something like that) Asrock extreme 9 x79 mobo Patriot 4x8gb RAM GTX 680 Running windows 7 off Samsung 840 3tb Seagate barracuda hard drive I reckon this is a really tricky situation but i'll try to interpret it as clear as possible. My PC has been having issues for quite a while now, half a year at least, where sometimes after sleeping in Windows 7 it won't post. I managed to find a fix soon after where i would hold down the reset CMOS button for 20-30 seconds and it would either resume the unsleep, or have a corrupted sleep file and go to a normal bootup. I've searched everywhere i can all over the web and i can't find anything vaguely related to this issue, so i just kept using the fix. IIRC, it started soon after i redid my partitions where i deleted 2 seperate ones and added the remaining space to a single one. (Same drive) I've made my way with this ghetto method for a while now until today. We've recently had a couple power issues where something in the house shorted (100% not my PC) causing it to lose power. It happened once yesterday and once more the day before. Today it didn't happen but instead while i was watching a twitch stream, the entire system just shut off. First things first is i try to turn it back on but it fails, even trying the CMOS thing and it won't post. I turn off the power and turn it back on. Still no good. What i can see, When the ethernet cable is plugged in, the orange flickering light is ON. When i hold down CMOS it turns off until i let go. I've tried what i know here, where the PC is in the exact same physical state as it was when it was still working 5 minutes ago. After about 30minutes of testing reset and power off/on decided to remove some components. Now, i've taken every single component out, unplugged SSD and HD and left only the power supply connections, CPU + fan and ram installed, yet it still doesn't power on but the orange light for the ethernet port is STILL ON. I'm assuming that my PSU isn't dead because there's power going to my mobo. Once again I'm assuming my mobo isn't dead because it's showing power. I'm also assuming my RAM is fine as i haven't touched it since i built the computer 2 years ago and same with the CPU. I often checked my system temperatures and the CPU was always cool, however the Southbridge was at around 50C because i turned the fan down. And here i am wondering what's going on as it was working one second and completely dead the next. Any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks.
  11. It's been such a long time since i've had a gpu upgrade and my final HSC exams are coming to a close soon. I love how they're quiet because that is what's most important for a surreal gaming experience.
