  1. More than 24 hours with no problems. I don't think this is a genuine solution but more of a work around. Regardless, it worked.
  2. Done. Did not change the static thing but things got a bit fast. I changed the DNS on the Ethernet's port IPV4 from auto to google DNS and that seems to work. I will report back if things did not work out. Thank you very much techguru for your time and patience.
  3. Also I noticed that the web interface is very slow.
  4. here the ips are different? and what about the static thing?
  5. Both my PCs are on and both have IPs as in PC1 192.168.1.xx PC2 192.168.1.xx both xx are different. I hope this make sense. I am as one would say a noob.
  6. not sure but I think it is technicolor home broadband 101
  7. I had this setup for years ( two PCs connected to this modem by Ethernet) and It worked fine from windows vista , 7 ,8 to 8.1. the other PC has Ubuntu on it.
  8. I do not have a network of PCs. I have two PCs connected to a DSL modem. There is no connection between them, I think. I can not ping websites " request timed out"
  9. Good day everyone, I recently did a clean install of windows 10 on my machine using the media tool from Microsoft with a USB drive. everything went OK. When I boot up, everything works fine for about 5 to 15 minutes then after that I just could not access the internet. I am still connected but can not browse the internet or update windows or other programs like steam. BUT if I started downloading something large ,a game for instance, after some time I will lose access but the downloading will not be affected and it can be for hours. When I diagnose network problems, I get this message " one or more network protocols are missing on this computer". Then I am given the option to " Try these repairs as an administrator". Regardless of the outcome, I could not access the internet without a restart. The problem returns in the same way. After some research, I did the following: - Checked Internet Protocols are set to automatic (Ethernet). - Reset internet setting in internet options. - Used "Ipconfig -all" then "ipconfig - renew" in cmd. - Used " netsh winsock reset catalog" then " netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log" and ipv6 which both failed because they were denied access. Still the problem exists. Then I did a fresh clean install of windows 10 without any programs, only drivers. Nothing changed. I used to have win 8.1 on the same PC with the same router and did not face this problem. My PC contains GA-X79-UP4 motherboard (Gigabyte) - 16G corsair ram 1600hz - core i7 3930k - gtx980 ti - 850 evo ssd I have another PC connected to the same router and it is working properly. WHAT DO I DO? Thank you for your time.
