  1. Yeah sorry for the lack of description I am doing this for a friend and he wasn't too specific. He didn't specify any school work like adobe applications. I was for sure thinking it to have a gpu like a 1060ti or so. The ram im sure he will upgrade in the future. I appreciate all the feedback guys!
  2. Wasn't sure where to post so I thought here would be best. First time posting on mobile so if I didn't do something correctly sorry. I am looking for a laptop that can handle games but will also be used for school work. Budget (including currency): $800-$1000 US Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Needs to have a ssd(125 or 250). Needs to have 8gb of ram. Refresh rate preferably 144hz.
  3. so if im getting a consistent 190-220 fps in csgo what would it be? like 270?
  4. Thanks for the explanation, it was my mistake assuming something that if I would have taken a second to read i would have realized. I guess this is what I will do, thanks. One last thing, what kind of FPS gain should I be seeing?
  5. I didn't know what you meant by the Zen 2, my mistake, I thought u were talking about a different mobo. My best bet is getting the Ryzen 5 3600? I now realize that Zen is short for Ryzen lol.
  6. i am asking which will get me more fps. I currently don't have the funds to buy a new motherboard plus an even more expensive CPU. I have around $150
  7. I have roughly $150 and im not to sure what CPU I should get the ryzen 5 2600x, or the ryzen 7 2700? I play games like FPS Shooters like csgo and rainbow six siege. I swap resolutions often 16:9 1920x1080 and 4:3 but would like a consistent fps of 250. What is the better buy? What CPU will get me better frames? In csgo I get average of 220 fps around there and siege i get average of 120-190 fps everything low. Thanks in advance! this is my specs : cpu : ryzen 5 1600 graphics card : gtx 1070 Mobo : ASUS Prime X370-Pro psu : i forgot wich 1 exactly but its like a 700+w ram : corsair vengence lpx 2x8gb ddr4 3000 monitor: asus 144hz
  8. i had a feeling it was nothing to do with that but i wasnt sure about the custom fan curve. i thought maybe it would have disabled it but all other fans work properly so i dont know why just the exhaust fan would be the only one not working. ill try that. where can i plug it in at? i have a ASUS Prime X370-Pro
  9. So I notice that my cases exhaust fan quit spinning on the NZXT H440. I unplugged a couple of wires that went to the fan control module(not sure what the proper term is) and it started working again. That was yesterday and today it is not spinning again. All my other fans work fine its just this one. My friend helped me OC my GPU a little bit but I'm not sure if it really did anything. He also helped me set up a custom fan curve but I didn't touch it prior to unplugging the wires and it working. If you know what could cause this please let me know, Thanks!
  10. my friend is trying to buy a new computer because his current one is crap. this is what he selected: https://gyazo.com/f0a83a2d371a03171f6e6328a6364b47 now I'm not the smartest one with picking what parts would be best, but would he be better off getting something like a ryzen 5 1600 rather than that ryzen 5 2400g? I might be reading it wrong but I'm pretty sure it has integrated graphics.
