  1. Are you sure that it is not lowering it's power state instead of not upping it? From what I read it's not the idle that is crashing it but how Cura idles. I recall to have read somewhere that Cura does very short calculations in the background with a fairly fast interval. That causes the CPU to constantly swap power states up and down until at some point the Mainboard gives up.
  2. Hi, let me start this right off the bat saying that this is not an issue anyone here will likely be able to truly fix. This is a known issue with Asus boards that they can't get themselves to fix. The problem is Ultimaker Cura and other applications crashing AMD Ryzen based Asus mainboard due to faulty reporting of C-States. This has been confirmed multiple times by Cura engineers / developers. The threads are the following: https://github.com/Ultimaker/Cura/issues/6855 https://github.com/Ultimaker/Cura/issues/5265 https://community.ultimaker.com/topic/35408-pc-crashes-when-using-cura/ https://www.reddit.com/r/Cura/comments/gluwuw/is_cura_still_crashing_amd_based_systems/ https://community.ultimaker.com/topic/26654-cura-crashes-my-entire-computer/ .... And many more. This is not a rare issue. It is well known. So why am I here? Well simple. To make people aware that sadly and quite frankly Asus does not care a single bit. Let me elaborate. In Summer of 2021 I messages Asus support about this, at first they asked the default questions about my PC, which I all answered. I also right from the get-go told them that this is a known issue that many users are facing. After a lot of back and forth and trying some default advise they gave me the crashing persisted and after me asking them several times if they can please inform their engineering team about this they sent me a sheet to fill out that they will pass to their headquaters as a bug report. Yay. Victory. I filled out their form and sent it to them. They said they'd send it to their headquaters and get back to me within a week. It has been almost a year. So. What now? I don't know. I mitigated the Problem by going into task manager every time I start the application and redoing the CPU core assignment for the cura task to only see 2 cores on my system which appears to work so far, but this is not a solution. A solution would be a bit of publicity finally getting Asus to do something instead of sitting on the money they got from me for a board that is pretty useless for my use case. Maybe my hope here is that someone from the Ltt team *wink wink* can use their direct links to the engineering team to make them aware of this issue. This is a behavior that is just inacceptable from a multi billion dollar company. As all the tickets above show I am not a single user with the problem. It is widespread and nothing helps. Updating BIOS, nothing, swapping CPU, nothing. This is on Asus table and they don't care.
  3. Ah okay I understand. Sad to hear that I can not get these few GB back, but okay. Disk Cleanup utility only erased like 150 mb too. The compression is something I never thought of, but I'll probably try it. Thanks for the help ^^ EDIT: Using the Software TreeSize which was recommended to me too i saw that the folder System Volume Information is 24,2 GB big, although it is usually not supposed to be even a Gb as far as I know. I am currently trying to remove the content, but Windows won't let me do that as easily as I would like it too.

  5. Hello, I recently got notified, that my storage on my SSD was running low, so I went checking and my Explorer tells me, that I used 88,2 GB of my 102 GB of SSD storage. Going into the SSD I marked everything and looked up the details, here Windows tells, that the size of everything on the disk is only 53,4 GB. So here is my question: Does anybody have an idea, where my 34,8 GB of should be free storage went? And sorry if this is in the wrong topic or if anything is wrong with this post, it's my first one in the LTT forums.
  6. Why I like the ZTE Axon 7? The answer is easy: It is currently one of the best flagships available, but unlike Samsung or Apple you don't pay too much. And it's fully Daydream compatible making it the phone I'll definitely go get in the near future, especially because my good old nexus 4 pal just died some days ago.

  8. Believe me, idc how bad your parents are, I had to call my network "Mom click here for Internet" just to be able to play a match of league of legends without an interruption. I would buy my Parents anything that I can for under 300$, the only thing I would care about, is that it is easy to use, cause as I said, my parents are really bad at using modern technology. If I would have to decide for something I would take a easy to use streaming box, or in general something that can play Netflix, cause they love watching many series. (My streaming box of choose would definitely be the NVIDIA Shield TV ( http://www.amazon.com/NVIDIA-SHIELD-Pro-Remote/dp/B013HK3YH0/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1449846453&sr=8-5&keywords=nvidia+shield+tv , in case the Amazon.de, so germany homepage opens, i am sorry, i tried half an hour to get the link to go to the American side ) , cause I could also game a bit when they are out of the house without buying a fricking overpriced Ps4 or a Xbox One).
