  1. So, I've had this issue for a while now and have just been setting it aside in the too hard basket cause I'm a normie. Whenever I turn on my computer, I'm greeted with the American Megatrends screen saying "Overclocking Failed!". I did try overclocking my RAM once but when the issue first started, I just reset the settings and it wouldn't go away. Any of you guys know how to fix the issue?
  2. I kept going at it for an hour and it eventually all came off but damn it was annoying.
  3. I have been sitting here for a while now using Isopropyl Alcohol, it's taking its time to come off. Not seeing big results
  4. So, here's the story: Your boy here decided to buy a used Liquid Cooler. As it turns out, the previous owner was not smart and left the old thermal paste on for a while. It's not all dried out and all my attempts to clean it off with Isopropyl alcohol come to no effect. Do you guys know any way of removing really old thermal paste?
  5. Yes, i'm able to access the bios. I've tried setting up my SSD in another PC and its recognised. Specs: CPU - i5-6500 GPU - Gainward GTX 960 4GB RAM - Kingston HyperX Fury Black 2x4gb 1600mhz MOBO - ASUS z170-p-d3 PSU - Cougar mx700 SSD - Kingston 120gb V300 HDD - WD Blue 1tb
  6. i recently put together my PC build (specs on my profile), and i've been trying to boot the comp up. It hasn't been able to find my boot devices and i've tried changing the power and sata cables but this hasn't worked. I think it is a problem with the motherboard. Has anyone else had these issues with the Z170-P-D3??
  7. I do have the money to pay for the 6600 but I feel that is just unnecessary due to the small change in performance
  8. So, i've been without a CPU for a couple of weeks now while i've been saving up and I feel like it's the right time to buy one. I've had my eye on the 6500 and 6600 mostly because I do light gaming (Skyrim, Fallout 4, Gmod) and I don't need anything too big. So I was wondering, should I pay that extra $35 for just a small increase in base clock on the 6600 or would the 6500 be good for what I'm planning on doing? Keep in mind I have a 960 4GB GPU and live in AUS.
  9. I currently have a Gainward 4GB GTX 960. It does well for my purposes but the new AMD GPUs are where AMD can finally throw the 1-2 punch at NVIDIA's lineup with value
  10. I just looked on BestBuy's website even though i'm in Australia. I found this system, it's on sale from $1200 down to $1120. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/ibuypower-desktop-intel-core-i7-16gb-memory-2tb-hard-drive-120gb-solid-state-drive-white/4513601.p?id=1219756373476&skuId=4513601 It has the following: Windows 10 (64 Bit) Core i7 6700k 16GB DDR3 2TB HDD and 120GB SSD GTX 960 It's a better choice than the both of them, but the GTX 960 does only have 2GB of VRAM like every other GPU in these options.
  11. I currently have a 700 watt with the specs in my signature, I know that mine would still be a lot for yours. A good 600 watt PSU should be completely fine.
  12. I'm no expert but has he had any problems before with WiFi functionality? If so, it might be his Wireless adapter. It could be the connection, have you tried using Ethernet cables?
  13. I would suggest going with an older CPU. Yes, Skylake has DDR4 support but you will be much better in buying a better CPU than keeping the DDR4 memory. An i5 will help you much more than an i3
  14. I'm having some difficulties choosing which GPU I should get for my updated PC. I wish to play games such as Skyrim, Fallout 4 and CS:GO at High/Ultra quality, 1080p. I don't mind 30 FPS gaming but if the card can run 60 FPS, i'm fine with that. The GPUs that I am tossing up about are as follows: MSI R7 370 4GB Gigabyte R9 280 3GB ASUS Strix R9 380 4GB I have a budget of $350 AUD. If there are any other cards that would be a good choice rather than these, please let me know.
